  1. Yep, but it happens. Royal did the right thing and paid what was due. I am guessing they had something get missed the previous month and the port knew exactly how to guarantee payment. Had a thought though. I know it's possible to have someone go hijack just about anything. For the money involved I wonder if the company who has not been paid is trying to make plans to force the return of the ship to US waters. Could be something to watch for with the "private security" companies out there who send people over to war zones to act as armed escorts possibly going to board the ship while it's in international waters to help facilitating the execution of an arrest warrant. They don't look like they are going to try and stay very far from the US since they are still sitting there between the island where they dropped off and Miami. https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9066667 Then again I wonder if there is a reward for bringing it in to port? Could be fun to try, LOL.
  2. To be honest I would not be surprised if they over inflated the numbers. They will then file bankruptcy and the ships will be sold to another company that will adopt the same name and it will be business as usual. It's not uncommon to see things like that in any industry.
  3. I believe even Royal had a cruise ship arrested once or twice. They were held in port till some fees were paid. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_of_the_Seas#Incidents It happens but this company is trying to avoid their ship being seized so they can avoid paying anything if they can.
  4. So anyone who has an android phone with Google Maps can easily participate if they want to. I would guess that apple users could but you will have to have google maps installed and use it heavily. Anyway I pulled my data since I have had an android phone and do so from time to time to update my map. Most of the time I drive places but did take a trip on Amtrak from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia via Washington DC and flew from OKC to Charlotte to Jamaica and then back through Dallas - Fort Worth. Otherwise most everything over the water where there are dots is while on a ship as are visits to Honduras, Mexico, and Grand Cayman. Anyway what I used to create this can be found on Github https://github.com/luka1199/geo-heatmap with all the directions and such.
  5. Saw my upcoming Adventure of the Seas sailings had oceanview and balcony for less than I paid for an inside room. Contacted my TA and they looked into making a switch. Those rooms had already sold out but I was able to get 62 back and 25 OBC for my inside room so pretty happy about that. Kinda funny that they refunded the difference instead of doing OBC with it but it all works out in the end.
  6. I use the dark mode on the forums, I am talking about the main site.
  7. Never had an issue with the navica app and just first and last name when I went through Galveston on a B2B with my girlfriend. That was in October this year and then stayed on for November with the onboard test where they had messed up the DOB with my girlfriend and I. We were both negative and they said it wasn't an issue. They had tried to correct it when we were doing testing but it just wasn't exactly right. They didn't seem to bother with it because they did test us both on the ship but I would guess that the same mess up with an outside test would cause an issue.
  8. Not sure if there is a thread like this but I have noticed something that would be helpful for people who stop by. Anyway I often read the front page articles even if it's to just skim through. I end up scrolling down sometimes through two or three and then have to scroll back to the top to open the boards link. Anyway I know a lot of sites implement a "back to the top" button and that would be awesome for the site's main page at the very least. I often browse sites by opening multiple tabs but have started slowing that down a bit because I get tired of doing endless "are you a bot" captcha's but regularly run with my browsers having at least 20 tabs open while I am doing stuff and when I go to the boards I often have 10 or 12 tabs open while I go through stuff. Anyway just figured it might be a nice little place to put a wishlist. I personally would enjoy if the main page had a "dark mode" option as well as the white text on a dark background is much easier on my eyes than a blaring white page with dark text. It has been great for the boards to be that way for the most part unless someone changes their stuff to be a white background but those are few and generally far between. I am sure a few others will chime in with idea's and a large portion of them will be unfeasible but still doesn't hurt to throw out a few simple things and see what sticks.
  9. I could be wrong but had the internet package and honestly the previous time I was on the ship without I couldn't access squat.
  10. We booked through nextcruise while on Liberty of the Seas for a 10 night cruise on Vision of the Seas. We got an oceanview for cheap and the next day the price dropped online so we got another 50 bucks back. I would suggest having a device in hand with a mock booking. That is exactly what I did and had zero issues. It does require you to have internet access but it eliminates a lot of stuff as well because I was able to look at the deck maps and pick a room without issue. The other option is to but down an open ended deposit you can use later. You don't actually have to pick a cruise while there. And my booking was transferred directly to the travel agency I regularly use.
  11. With my time dining you are supposed to able to book as you go. In practice you may as well just book everything as soon as you hit the ship. Otherwise just pick a time you prefer to eat at and set that up when you book your cruise. It doesn't mean you have to eat there just that you will have a timeslot available. I always set my time dining but after my last cruise will be scheduling for an early meal time in the main dining room. The last one we only went to the MDR once and scheduling it required my girlfriend to go down and talk to someone as the only thing available was around 9pm and she wanted to see a show at that time. And for anything wireless communication wise figure if it's not line of sight is not going to work well. Metal kills signals and even in port a cell signal will not penetrate into the ship very much. I have tried to find an app that is able to work using the wifi system but sadly everything I have seen no longer functions at all. https://www.f-droid.org/en/packages/d.d.meshenger/ is one that I looked at but it just didn't function even on my home network. But if someone who is into programming was to look at it and maybe fix it is possible that would work on the ship without an internet connection.
  12. RC app is free to use without issue. Once you are connected you will have access to the ships local servers through the app for checking balances as well as reserving shows. Chatting with other members of your party does cost extra as mentioned but it's easy enough to have notes left in a room and if someone does something they just drop by the room and leave a note.
  13. 28 points for 7 nights? That falls under some other stuff like suite? You go alone or with someone? Maybe when you spring for a suite the credit points differently as well so you get lucky. So lets say you must be gold unless you spring for the suites on a first time cruise?
  14. He is over 18 and will be on his own which is no big deal. He has been helping to work on the house (technically his anyway but my girlfriend and I are the ones making decisions) so I figured it would be a good thing for him to have a chance to explore and do things. Lets just say that he had a sibling who basically treated him very poorly and controlled a lot of his life so him getting the chance to do stuff is a really good thing. Enrolling in C&A before cruising will not get you double points. My Girlfriend had a C&A number then sailed and got single points for the first one and double for the second. you MUST be gold for the double points to apply so if you are going on a long cruise (5 night plus) and can squeeze in a 2 night before it will be well worth it to get gold status first. And I have thought about combining accounts with my girlfriend as we will be living together for the foreseeable future and all but honestly don't care about being married. Not sure if she would use a lot of the amenities or not but I know on my next one I get my pin and should be able to have a robe which will be nice since I will be traveling with my girlfriends son and not her.
  15. I agree you absolutely need to contact Royal. May also call your local health department as well. If you have a copy of the records they may be willing to help. And if you get a booster they will give you a new card for at least the booster (may even possibly fill out the other part) and you may then be able to get the VA to fill in the rest. Or if you get a booster you could fill in the initial information, I don't know if that would be an issue because it will be the truth. The only thing I wouldn't do is fake a signature just put the facility information down. I am not a member of the bar and therefore can not give legal advice though but I am sure sonstige will chime in on it.
  16. Was at gold level before my B2B over Halloween, my girlfriend had never sailed with RCCL before so had no C&A status. First 7 night run I received 14 points she received 7, 2nd 7 night run we both received 14 points. I kicked into the platinum level and she is 21 points into gold. End of next month I get another 10 points on a 5 night sailing with my girlfriends son. He has zero and actually until he moved to Oklahoma had only rarely been out of southwest Pennsylvania so it's going to be a major treat for him.
  17. Not that I know of. You could do a two night cruise and get your bump to the next level. An interior room to CoCo Cay is 100 per person plus fees. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/itinerary/2-night-perfect-day-getaway-from-miami-on-freedom/FR02MIA-3988927779?sail-date=2022-12-05&currency=USD&country=USA&dates_maxDate=02%2F28%2F2022&dates_minDate=01%2F01%2F2022
  18. The issue with the extension is we do not have a ton of guidance on which tests are included and which ones are not. The first tests had a shorter shelf life (about 9 months) and the extension was ONLY for those tests. Newer tests are being made with a 11 month shelf life so the information showing an extension is not going to cover those or others as that is already built in. Until we have updated information DO NOT count on testing expiring 3 months beyond the date listed unless they were covered under the initial extension.
  19. No issues with coughing. However if you are in an elevator and there are people without masks on properly or at all and you start coughing a few times they tend to put masks on as they should or likely rethink their thoughts on not wearing one. Did it a couple times just to mess with people.
  20. Nobody really has a clue what was bought or if they will work for travel. In all odds they will not. However a couple tests sitting around for before you leave (especially if you plan to be in the area near the terminal well before the time the ship leaves) so you can test isn't a bad thing. I know some people will buy the OTC versions from the local big box or pharmacy just for that so this is a way to save a few bucks. As for shipping, and this is fully speculating, I would not be surprised if the USPS is holding stock at their major sorting centers so outside of it being a thing where your area is out of stock shipping should be fairly fast. It could even be possible for some of the large local post offices just had a box or two sitting around so it could literally be next day delivery. This is purely speculation but with the way things are being talked about it's a good possibility.
  21. Well over their amounts allowed. With that said in Galveston they are pretty lax for that from what I saw. We had a couple bottles and walked over to the table where they were checking that kind of stuff and they saw the bottles and just waved us past. It's basically a deal where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, the xray screeners are not communicating with the check in people. Another option would be to just fill some correct size bottles up, again they are not checking that very well in Galveston. But I am not an attorney, or anything else able or willing to give legal advice so you are 100000000% on your own no matter what you do. So the official answer is No, not gonna happen. But you are free to read between the lines. On my B2B I had a full bottle my girlfriend and I were drinking while we were being escorted off the ship, went past some customs guys who checked our passports, sat in the terminal for a bit, went through the check in process, and then went back on the ship. It was actually very enjoyable for us, LOL.
  22. This is for residents of the US only. It will be limited to 4 tests per home. Beyond that not a lot of information available so these probably will not be useful for travel but who knows till they start shipping. I will be putting in an order even if it's just to have some on hand that can be used for my own information. https://www.covidtests.gov/
  23. LOL, I need to make a Sam's Club run sometime over the next month or so. Think they would enjoy those on Adventure of the Seas?
  24. The guidelines are that everything is thrown away. However I am sure a lot of stuff is picked up by people who work there or hopefully donated to a place that resells stuff. Never had anything on the table of shame but on my B2B I had a dive knife in a pocket of my BCD. Sadly didn't notice it when I was checking stuff, even worse I passed through security 3 times with my BCD not to mention that it was in my bag when I boarded the ship. Had to pick it up at the entrance office in Galveston. When the security guy spotted it on the xray he was all excited and then when he saw it I think he was tempted to just send me on my way, LOL. 2.3 inch blunt tip blade and 7 inches overall, more handle than blade.
  25. @PRebecca @Jkaczano If you guys are wanting to add the information in the correct thread is I can't go through all the threads and track the information so anything posted elsewhere will not be added in. @SpeedNoodles I would call back and tell them you get a tracking number within 24 hours or you are calling the CC company to cancel the order. This hurts them MUCH more than a refund as they are also hit with fees by the credit card processor. The run around game is not one I play so that is a quick way to a resolution because they are out the sale as well as lose money in general.
