My husband doesn't think that there is a rush either. He thinks that I'm worried about it selling out when it's actually about pricing. He also has no idea about what it took to even book our honeymoon. I've seen the sailing I'm planning for go up $300 in the last week or two and it KILLS me because I'm waiting on money to make my deposit. Hopefully, something will happen and it won't go up TOO much between now and then. I'm seriously looking at a 3rd party website as well instead of a TA.

My family members SO is in this "no rush boat" and I said to them there truly is no rush I booked when I wanted they can book if they like or not it's up to them. But it would be nice if I save a few bucks with to long wait

This family member would be smart to place a refundable deposit now and have the option to cancel later if they change their mind.

NOT saying that this applies in your case...but it has been my very frequent experience that if a family member or friend is hesitant to book, they will most likely back out in the end, anyway.  My guess is, that relative that is hemming and hawing about finding a "deal" is really just using it as an excuse to NOT book.  I hope I'm wrong but that has been my experience.  Good luck !!

Yeeeeepppp but idc if they come or not 😆 it a cruise for my own celebration so I'm definitely going. They told me last night that they think cancel for any reason insurance is cheaper than a refundable deposit and I said do whatever you like if you come you come if not I don't feel any certain way

Back in the day, pre post pandemic, you book early and take advantage of price drops. Now, with demand up and inflation rising, you book early and watch prices rise. For me, I'm cruising less and looking for alternative vacation ideas.

This is what I figured. I have a family member who wants to book but is dragging they're feet bc they want a "deal" that I don't think exists. They don't see the rush to book early which honestly there is no rush I just know it won't go cheaper this day and age. But would be nice to save a few bucks. Family member is basically push DCl saying it's the same price with more includes (soda and what not) I'm just not a Disney person and don't need all the gimmicky dinners and kids stuff. ( parent of two for reference and still think my kids would have more fun on Royal)

Generally,  it has to be the exact same, but with a refundable fare you can always cancel and rebook if necessary.

I book aa soon as the itinerary is announced.  About 25% of the time I find a cheaper price. The key is to check frequently

Okay very true about canceling and rebooking with the refundable fair. My TA says she looks daily for cruise discounts but I feel like I'll look too hear and there it's just so tideous putting everyone's info into the Royal website to see the prices

  5. I booked well in advance for a cruise next spring (2025) I booked with a refundable deposit.

1st question is when it comes to rebooking if I see a cheaper price will it be for my exact identical booking (same room category and refundable deposit, added gratuities)

2nd how often do you save money booking so far in advanced?

  6. Follow up question if anyone is still following. I'm looking to book a spring 2025 cruise. Do those of you who plan so far out in advance purchase cancel for any reason policies? So much can happen in over a year for now. Just trying to gauge the general consensus here

  7. Is royals trip insurance worth it? I'm looking to book a cruise that's in 2025. I definitely want insurance but unsure how to go about getting trip insurance when the cruise isn't until may 2025.

I haven't cruised in a few years but remember royals insurance not being the best bang for the buck

Can anyone correct me please if I am mistaken because the reply I got doesn't match with the following policy of royal caribbean :

Please note: If you used a Cruise with Confidence certificate on this sailing, and you request a refund instead, we’ll refund any NEW funds paid above the certificate amount, and we’ll reinstate your original Cruise with Confidence certificate.

So that means that if mu cruise gets cancelled and I used fcc to pay for it I won't get cash refund. Am I right?

Did they cancel your original cruise that gave you the cruise credit? Then yes you get a refund

If you yourself canceled the cruise under cruise with confidence and received a FCC then no you do not get a refund

We are starting to worry about our cruise that is the 28 February 2021from Port Canaveral. We already cancelled once our cruise of April 19 2020 out of Puerto Rico . I do not find it fair that you wouldn't get cash refund on the portion paid with fcc if they cancel the cruise. This is the same bs as airlines almost here in Canada.

I used a FCC from a may canceled cruise and booked for October. I asked for a refund now since they canceled and I'm getting everything back

Hi, does anybody knows if I can opt for the refund of the cruise fare and the 125% OBC for the cruise planner purchases? I already have a FCC applied to my next sailing so won't be able to apply another one, reason why I'm opting for the refund but I want the 125% for the CP purchases. I dont really see the problem with it, but not sure. Does anyone have experience with it?

You cannot . You have to choose either just the FCC or FCC and cruise planner 125% credit. You cannot get a refund and choose the cruise planner credits

  11. Canceled may cruise we opted for the FCC and 125% cruise planner credit. Rebooked for October I'm going to fight like hell for a refund for both. If seen some be successful with getting the FCC refunded. I will not be traveling in 2021 due to us wanting to start a family. Since I won't know when we will be pregnant I can't book a cruise. I think it's unfair for them to not consider a refund when they can't even give a concrete re sale date.

Worse case scenario I'll wait till the last possible time in 2022 to cruise . I really hope they extend out date to book by. December 2021 just isn't enough time for my situation. I never ever thought we wouldn't be cruising by October. Now Bahamas is closed to the USA so I'm sure Coco cay is out now too.

I have always been pessimistic, according to some posters?, but I think they will cruise this year. I almost wish i had placed a bet in Vegas because I had middle September as my restart date. I stand by that date with October 1st be the latest possible restart date. Even with a second wave, that won't really happen as the 1st hasn't left, I cannot see them scraping the fall and winter season. I can see the ban being lifted on Aug 1st but that the cruise lines will need the next 45 days to get everything in order. The CDC are being douches, they won't extend but they won't approve until the last minute. Which would have left the lines scrambling and rushing, resulting in further delays. By voluntarily choosing to extend, they give themselves time to do things right. I think by Aug some international travel will be opened and countries will be more accepting of cruises.

I'm with you. I hope my job lifts my 14 day quarantine too but not holding my breathe. Already told my manager I'm going if they sale and not to expect me back for 3 weeks I have the Vaca time since literally every one of my other plans  got squashed

Cruiseliners will not survive going 8+ months without revenue. Expect to see ships being sold and iteniaries canceled if they cancel the rest of 2020.

They need to cancel August before July though. That way people can get their FCC and refunds in time to rebook. I plan on rebooking in October if my August cruise is cancelled, which now looks like is very possible. If October is cancelled then I will have to see about next year. My kids are looking forward to a week's vacation, though they don't know what we are supposed to be doing. If they cancel our vacation, I may just send a picture of my children crying to the CDC with a note at how they are destroying the ability of kids to have any fun or family time right now. They have chosen to be a bully to this industry and are ruining people's lives in the process, and I'm talking about owners, employees, etc.

I'm 50/50 with October happening just got an email today saying I'll have to quarantine for 14 days after international travel so now looks like I'll be taking 3 weeks of vaca off at one time

I sure hope Royal Caribbean doesn’t follow suit with NCL. It would be nice if RC would take the reins and be the first to cruise again. I took my May 17th cruise and moved it to August! I REALLY want to go!!

I'm with you wish they wait till end of July and see what the CDC says and what the world looks like then. I know Florida seems to jsut be peaking now so I wouldn't be shocked if fall cruising is the start. My cruise is October 26 and I just pray it will happen
