  1. Hey all!

We are looking to book a cruise on Wonder for our honeymoon and wanted to get some advice from those of you who have been on Wonder. We are going to do a balcony(at minimum) and have typically enjoyed being at the back of the ship(Adventure, Independence) but considering moving forward a bit to split the walk back to the cabin up a little bit. Any advice?

    Thanks everyone!

@KyleW2This happened to me awhile ago.  When I called RCCL to ask about the my FCC they informed me the certificates were emailed weeks prior to my call.  They said they would email them to me again but then proceeded to tell me what the certificate numbers were.  I asked about how to use the FCC and they gave me some suggestions.  One option was to apply the FCC to a previously booked reservation.  That worked out well because that reservation ended up being repriced and the FCC was applied and the balance due became $0 and some money was refunded.  The refund took about 45 days but eventually materialized.  Now I just worry that the future cruise will be cancelled and what happens to the FCC then.

I never did get an emailed FCC.

Yeah if I don’t have the FCC in my email by Monday I will just call and ask them to give me the certificate numbers on the phone.

If your new cruise gets cancelled you will just be issued a new FCC. I’m sailing in December unless Royal cancels the sailing. If they do I’ll just request the full refund, not a big deal.

  3. Update on mine:

According to RCCL Facebook Messenger, my FCC's were emailed to me March 24th. I never received them. I check my inbox and spam folders daily. He said he will duplicate the credits and they should be in my email by the end of the week.

Rather frustrating as I have been on the phone with them multiple times since the 24th, and have asked about the FCC each time, and was never told they had been processed.

If you are still waiting, ask via Facebook Messenger. Maybe you will actually get a response that gives some guidance!

So i called them today. They told me at least a couple more weeks for my refund, it isn't even queued to give me the refund yet. They apologize that their accounting department is backed up with all the requests. This is Royal playing a game to hold everybody's money as long as they possibly can. I also don't get how people that cancelled after me already got their refunds. It will be more then 2 months after my cruise was actually cancelled, not when Royal said it was, before i get my money. The biggest kicker to me is they processed my upgrade fee 2 days before they cancelled the cruise and i still haven't gotten that back yet. This is the biggest amount along with taxes and port fees that i would like back.

Wow, that is crazy that they haven’t even processed your refund yet. Sorry to hear that.

Royal has botched this majorly. I’m curious how the refund process went for the other cruise lines, or if they are just as bad with it.

I don't mean this to sound like a jerk in any way at all.

But, why are so many of you calling to talk with Royal about your refund? Do you think that your call is in any way speeding up your refund?

I also have a refund coming. I'm not going to call. If I do, all that will happen is my expectations will be raised and I will be irritated. I believe that there is nothing I can do to make my refund come faster.

Again, not trying to be a jerk. Save yourself from the anxiety and just wait.

You do realize that it shouldn’t take 2 months to receive refunds right?

It does not hurt to call when the day they told us refunds would be here has come and gone and people are still without refunds.

It has nothing to do with getting a refund quicker, but it is finding out if it has been processed so you can count out the 30 days from process date to get an approximate arrival day since their estimates aren’t right.

Some of us aren’t okay letting a company hold our money and continuously lie about when we will get the refunds, starts to make you think the refund will never come. If our complaints aren’t heard, nothing will ever happen about it. Just my opinion.

Ya know... I'm in the cruise business  "kind of". I do big game fishing trips, often in the Bahamas . I often act as travel agent  booking the air, transfers, lodging, etc for my parties. We do take deposits and full payments for these trips. Weather gets in the way of some trips or unforseen mechanical issues might cause cancellations as well.  The client gets choice of  whole cash back or book again (with some extra bennies tossed in)  and that  very day funds are made available...  One push of a button they get reimbursed as they wished within minutes... No excuse for a company the size of RCCL to not have a far more streamlined  and faster system. If I ran my boats as poorly as they do this refund system they would be  on the bottom!

    I agree 100%.

My guess is that there was so many cancellations that their system likely crashed, causing them to process refunds by hand.

My biggest issue with them right now is the complete lack of honesty to their customers as far as the timelines. We get it, you messed up your timeline the first time, tell us that with a mass email rather than making me call and ask where my refund is.

I wonder what order they are doing all these refunds. My Cruise was supposed to be March 14th. I have only received FCC and no refunds for anything yet.

Call them and ask when yours was processed then count out 30 business days from the date they say, that will give you a decent estimate on when you will receive your refund.

I did something tonight I swore I wouldn't do: I opened disputes with my bank over a charge.

I did an upgrade on my now-canceled 6/4 cruise on Adventure, from a balcony to an aft-facing junior suite. Royal charged me more than they quoted my TA, resulting in an overcharge of $180.

I ultimately decided to take that route because I was looking back over my emails, and my travel agent reported that per the cruise line, a refund had been returned to my card more than 30 days ago. I spelled it all out in my dispute form. Wouldn't you know, the second dispute I originally filed, the refund from Celebrity for a deposit on a booking I cancelled showed up at the end of daily accounting; called my bank this morning so they could close that one. So yay for that! ?

All the other refunds of taxes, the other price-adjustment refund, and the coming FCC, I can wait for -- but this one just felt like I got shafted, even though I know that wasn't RCCL's intent. If the refund shows up before the resolution on the dispute is completed, I'll cancel it.

I understand all of this takes time, but in the case of the dispute where I had been told concretely that the overcharge had been refunded to my card, I decided I'm going to speak up.

I was a day away from doing the same. Told myself on Wednesday that I would call my credit card company on Friday if I didn’t have my refunds. Sure enough they showed up on Friday.

Are you past 30 business day’s or 30 days in general? Just curious really.

Our Cruise cancellation confirmation was March 25, today is April 24. Pretty fast.

Our Cruise Planner purchases were cancelled on April 10, expecting refund about May 10.  We'll see.

Count on May 22nd to avoid being disappointed. May 22nd would be 30 business days. That is how long it took my cruise planner to be refunded after cancellation email.

Just curious - did you go in to cruise planner and cancel the purchases? Or did they get canceled as part of the cruise getting canceled. I canceled "The Key" in the cruise planner for our May cruise and had refund in 3 days.   That was before I knew about the 125% Cruise Planner credit option.

Mine was cancelled by them, on March 14th and I received the confirmation email from them that it was refunded. I was not eligible for the 125% cruise planner.

It is now April 24th and I JUST received my refund this morning

Nope nothing not even Cruise Planner purchase. We called and cancelled on March 14.

You aren't alone. Me either. Haven't received my FCC either.

I am calling today and if they give me the run-around I'm disputing all charges from Royal Caribbean with my credit card company. This is ridiculous. They have held my money long enough and I have emails from them stating when refunds would be processed.

I canceled on March 13 and was told yesterday it would be another 30-45 days. I’ve contacted my card company and they are dealing with them now.

Did you request a 100% cash refund?

Wondering if it is different for you because of that. I haven't been told that it will be that long but I'm just wanting my port fees and stuff refunded.
