  1. Anthem had the “stagger” to the hallway. (Pic attached) I’m pretty sure the deck plans are accurate
  2. See if there is a FB group for your sailing and if so create an event for “whatever age group” for the first or second night. My daughter did this on a recent Oasis sailing, Check the cruise compass if any are posted under cruise compass on this board, and see if the ship is running any socials for your age group. I know they did on my last oasis sailing. Also the club on Oasis was 18 and up, so it could be a place to meet similar age group if Odyssey does that.
  3. Unfortunately that is not what it says in the Royal FAQ, which of course has room for error if it's not been updated. If I were the op I would look in the Roll Call group pages to see if you can find a sailing that has a port at Greece and ask current passengers how the testing works, if it is indeed needed. Does a week old test work? Does it have to be the day before arrival? So many questions. You could also search FB groups for current sailings and ask there.
  4. Next Cruise OBC should not be removed from a reservation if you move it. I think your travel agent is wrong. It is promotional OBC that can be removed. There is another thread on this board about this discussion. Someone just got their Next cruise OBC reinstated to their reservation because a Royal agent removed it-mistakenly. If Royal agents don't know their own rules I can understand why a TA does not. If the TA gets the wrong answer when moving your reservation then she/he should hang up and try again. Double points does NOT extend to next year (you are correct) If it's not going to cost you anything extra to cancel your reservation and then just rebook when onboard, then maybe just do that. Of course I wouldn't cancel until you are onboard and actually make that reservation, just to ensure you get it done. As to your original question, it would be more important in regards to the loss of the deposit -which is now the full nonrefundable deposit-as opposed to the change fee (I linked all of that above). In your case you had the reduced deposit since you booked onboard so you would not lose as much if you cancelled a cruise as compared to someone who booked online.
  5. I'm on a Celebrity FB group and 25 people's luggage did not make it to their destination. (British Airways). This happened to a family of 16 on my February Anthem cruise out of NJ, the luggage caught up with them in Nassau when the cruise was half way over. The number of people sharing the horror stories about luggage, flights etc is scary. Someone mentioned how they have their clothing split between 2 pieces of luggage so in case 1 bag didn't make it they'd still have stuff.....well neither luggage made it! Another talked about how they had the airtag in their luggage-which meant they could see where there luggage was, but it did not make it to their cruise. Another talked about how while boarding they took their carry on luggage because of lack of room onboard, and that luggage was lost. It was my plan to use a carry on luggage and try to fit as much as I can into it.....I do always have a "grocery type recyclable bag" folded and placed in the outside pocket of my luggage "just in case" and you know I would have stood there and took the majority of my carry on items out to stick into that bag! Then there were the horror stories of connecting flightrs. If you booked through Air2Sea program their numbers into your phone. If you are booked with an airline get their app- I'll be thrilled if I can make it to Europe on time for my cruise, I guess having my luggage make it would be a bonus, if they want to mess with my flights home-oh well.
  6. I do not think the PCR tests are required in Europe, You can see the info here, or click on HEALTH in the Royal app. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise#italy It is my understanding that the antigen tests are very easy to find in Italy. I would reach out to the hotel you are staying and make an inquiry as to location/cost of testing. You could also purchase the Emed test kits (rapid/antigen) here in the states and use those. They are proctored and are 24 hours a day. Emed.com sells a 6 test kit package, they might have started selling less. Royal also sells the test kits on their site. If you decide to purchase kits and go that route purchase an extra or two in case something goes wrong (missing pieces, drop the kit, etc)
  7. It would be in an email. Some have reported seeing a charge on their charge card prior to getting the email. One person had reported being notified when they were onboard and unpacking.
  8. That's a tough one. Is it worth the risk of a price increase to get that OBC? Is there "enough" FCC to go around? If more than 2 people with FCC can you split the people booking the cabin into 2 different cabins to get people with FCC in both. The only problem, as you are well aware, is if something happens and those people don't make the flight/cruise.
  9. True. I was just trying to answer the “who can book next cruise via the promotion”, though looking back I’m not sure that was the question I booked 10 sailings in September through Next Cruise for the double points promotion. Hubby was not with me on that cruise, so he couldn’t absorb some of the bookings. The Next cruise had to seek permission from a supervisor, they explained the travel agent thing to me, and because all the sailings had my name on the reservation, except one for my SIL on the same date as I was sailing, they granted permission easily. I agree, it’s likely a lot of TAs took advantage at some point, causing the need for a new rule.
  10. as many here have learned if the cruise industry has your $ and Covid type things occur () you’d have difficulty getting your $ back quickly. If you are concerned you might spend the money prior to final payment maybe open a travel account at your bank to put the money away. If it’s a matter of having too much in the bank (like college FAFSA) then consider to pay it now. Otherwise I don’t see a benefit of paying it early. all travel agents I’ve used always ask for payment 7-10 days prior to final payment. It gives a cushion for them to work with when making the payments to Royal
  11. Odd, I’ve repriced a number of cruises with OBC from next cruise and did not lose the next cruise OBC. I have lost other OBC that was a promo at the time of the booking like CAS $25 or $50. Ive also repriced a next cruise booking and kept the next cruise OBC AND picked up other promo OBC.
  12. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/booking-cancellation-refund-policy Non-Refundable Deposit Fares Outside of final payment, when a non-refundable deposit cancellation occurs, the full deposit amount will be held in penalty. Any additional payments made will be refunded. Should you choose to change your original ship and/or sail date, if you booked directly with us, please contact our Consumer Outreach teamwhere a representative will assist in making the desired changes, while also applying the qualifying change fee(s) and collecting payment, if not already done so. If you booked via a travel advisor, please contact them for any booking changes.
  13. When onboard, back in the fall, I wanted to book more than 3 cruises, which is not permitted. the “work around” was I could book 3 and the others could be booked using my husbands name (his allowance). So typically each person on a cruise can book 3 cruises.
  14. I think you mean “why wouldn’t you” yes, it would be smarter to move a reservation, I go believe there is a small change fee.
  15. Given the airline horror stories nowadays I think a day early is prudent. if I fly to Miami in hurricane season I would be concerned about the weather there, so I’ve always gone a day early,. If I fly to Florida from NY I worry about the ice/snow here and leave a day early. This past January I had to leave the night before my flight to be closer to my NY airport to escape an ice storm in my area. if you are “set” on day of Id advise travel insurance.
  16. Interesting when I’ve traveled with more than one person they asked for each set of documents by the person being checked in,
  17. I agree. Having the pre cruise test I decided it was best to not go to Europe early and explore since a positive test would keep me from sailing. Had the US lifted the test to return policy earlier I would likely have stayed longer post cruise, Europe’s loss of income.
  18. According to this article https://www.avidcruiser.com/cruise-reviews/big-ship/royal-caribbean-cruise-line/oasis-of-the-seas/ “Running about half the ship’s total length, the promenade aboard Oasis resembles the mixed-use shopping/entertainment/residential districts in any number of American cities, and acts as a central boulevard for the ship…”
  19. I’m booked on Celebrity for later this month. I did receive nice OBC and had also hit an amazing sale for excursions a while back. I’ve now learned “the hard way” to not use OBC on excursions as when it came to a reprice on the cruise at a current sale I stood to lose the OBC, which meant a loss of excursions, which Celebrity-had applied a portion to each excursion upon checkout. I would have had to repurchase excursions at the current rate and a significant cost increase. So if the need to use OBC on excursions is strong maybe check out each excursion separately, so not all excursions are impacted should you try to reprice after losing OBC. I also think the “all inclusive WiFi and drinks” on a European cruise is a gimmick and waste of $. Most hours will be spent exploring towns (utilizing my phone plan) and drinking will likely be at a minimum since off the ship most all day and the need to get up early and go. The Elite status looks like it included some sort of a happy hour daily somewhere as well as free WiFi each Elite guest-I think-2 days each. no, I did not research this sailing. I joined a relative who had already booked and “just signed up” ( very unlike me) I share my experience so others have food for thought.
  20. I googled gif Oasis since it’s the same class. Here’s a video of 9640. I gif watch a video for Oasis 9642 s as bad she said the balcony is larger than standard and has had 2 chaise lounges and that is not typical
  21. Sorry I didn’t think to look for it this morning when you posted elsewhere I guess I really needed my coffee!!
  22. Interestingly I did a search on this blog having recalled this topic. Found a link from Matt (from back in March) and it must be a “renewable link” here it is! Scroll a bit down to see the FCC. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/terms-and-conditions/promotions interesting that I can’t see the actual “sale”, just the terms and conditions maybe I’m not looking at it right. But it has what you need
  23. Royal stock owners can also use ownership of their 100 shares towards Celebrity OBC.
