  1. We just returned from our first cruise ever, and had a great time! We are a family of 5, and had an ocean view room that accommodated all of use since my youngest is in a pack 'n play. However, by next year, she will be too big for that type of sleeping arrangement. I'm wondering what our options are for booking staterooms going forward. I know there is the connecting room option, which is fine. But, is there an option to book a larger stateroom that's not a suite (perhaps an oversized ocean view or balcony room)? I guess what I'm asking is do cruise ships have roll-away beds....like they do in some hotels....to accommodate a (young) family of 5?
  2. Thanks! Puddle jumpers are the ones that have arm loops and go across the chest. So the kid preserver can be used in the pool?
  3. My kids will definitely want to go into the pool. However, they use puddle jumpers/life jackets/swimmies....does RCL have these things on board for kids to use, or do we have to bring our own? Thanks!
  4. Do RC ships have motorized scooters for elderly folks to use?
  5. What sites have people used to conduct the mandatory pre-cruise covid testing (we are all vaxxed, and just need to do the rapid antigen - looking to schedule a virtual test from home)? I want to make sure we make an appointment with a site/agency/medical provider that is accepted by Royal. Thanks!
  6. I think once you board the ship with your neg covid test and Vax card in hand, the Bermuda travel doc will be provided/valid? I also completed all 5 of ours, and have received no other word. But, there is a place in the application to upload your neg test - UNLESS you are cruising on certain lines (RCL) being one....then your embarkation is enough proof. That's my take, anyway.
  7. So, there aren't individual prices for each dish? It's basically all you can eat for the one price?
  8. What are the prices like in specialty dining restaurants? Are they comparable to what you pay when you go out to eat at a similar restaurant at home? When you dine at a specialty restaurant, do they just bill it to your room? Do you tip the wait staff like you would when dining at home? Any examples of menu's (that include prices) at the specialty restaurants (specifically on Adventure of the Seas)? Thanks!
  9. We are cruising for the first time in August on Adventure of the Seas, heading to Bermuda. We are a family of 5 (kids ages 7, 4, and 2), plus my 70+ dad is coming with. What do folks recommend we bring (someone suggested walkie-talkies) or, conversely, leave behind (eg. do we have to bring beach towels, or are those provided?) Any pro-tips are most welcome and appreciated! Thanks!
  10. Hello, when do you learn whether your upgrade bid was accepted? Thanks!
  11. My understanding is that it's non-refundable; that is, we either go to Canada, or lose our money. Am I misunderstanding this? I would hope we could just defer, and apply our payment to a future cruise!
  12. We are booked on Adventure of the Seas for Bermuda in August. It's our very first time cruising (young family of 5). I'm curious to hear from folks whose Bermuda cruise was re-routed to Canada instead. Did you know ahead of time? I'm assuming the contents of your suitcase had to be swapped out!? Also, if this happens to us, I'm worried about it being too chilly for my kids to use any of the water features on the ship. How does such a 180 in sailing affect how you enjoy all the ship has to offer? Finally, what are the reasons the itinerary changed - hurricanes? Rainy weather at the port? Issues with travel documents/international port? I really want my family and I to enjoy our first cruise experience, but I'm nervous our itinerary will get changed, and it will be a disaster!

  14. Hi, we are cruising for the first time (ever) this summer. Our ship (Adventure of the Seas) is leaving from Bayonne NJ. My question has to do with parking, and meeting up with family members who are cruising with us. Specifically, my elderly father is being transported by my brother from upstate NY, and we are driving in from Philadelphia. Is there an easily identifiable spot where we can meet my brother at the port for the hand-off? *It has to be at the port, after we park our car (we can not meet my brother somewhere else and put my father in our car as we don't have room for him). Suggestions? Thanks!
