In our case, it was sort of difficult to get the TA removed from our account, so for a few cruises even tho we booked them ourselves, they were still earning a commission because we were linked in RC's system?!? We've finally gotten that straightened out but it took several calls and e-mails to make it happen. I don't know if that's normally a thing or not....?
Any time you purchase a next cruise booking reservation # while on a sailing that was booked by a TA the next cruise person should ask if you want your travel agent to be on the booking. It’s in your own best interest to tell them you do NOT want the TA on the booking (s that is your intention) as not all next cruise agents ask this important question. When you say no they either have a form you sign- or it’s been incorporated on the next cruise form-a space you initial- that will drop the agent off.
Same if you have a particular agent you do want to use-provide that info to next cruise when you purchase or make a reservation.   -
5 sharing a bathroom will be tough.
Some shops have the ultra spacious ocean view cabin which can hold 6…it’s a twin bunk “room”( really just bunk bed with a curtain to section them off, pull out sofa and the standard 2 twins that can be posted together it left apart. Still only 1 bathroom.
Potential pitfall- you cancel your sailing-for an unforeseen reason- their kid has no cabin. They cancel their sailing-they MAY have to cancel their kid without a full refund to them if inside the final payment time.
You might consider
a cabin for 3 for your family
A cabin for 4 for their family
A cabin for 3 that holds your 1 kid and 2 of their kids (or they get the cabin for 5 and then you’d just need a cabin for 2 for your kid and theirs)depending on the drinking situation-all adults in the same cabin are supposed to get the deluxe beverage package-unless you call royal and book-stating the other adult doesn’t drink-which then it’s adult beverage package AND a refreshment package for the non drinking adult. So you could put 1 adult in that “extra cabin” and keep a kid with their other adult…then once onboard swap them out at guest services (guest services don’t care about your drink package you booked)
keep in mind cabins with no adult and the minors are under 21 sailing out of the US (Europe and other countries have different age) the cabin must be booked adjacent or directly across from the parent/guardian . Additionally unrelated minors in the same cabin -there can be 1 unrelated minor to you for every related minor (I can’t find where that is written but I recall this when I travelled with unrelated minors)

I’ve started adding them to my contacts. It’s worked out twice for me now!!

I wish you could pre pay for parking. They should add that but I do definitely prefer the lot.
With the app for the garage, or the QR code to the website-you do prepay in that there’s a plate reader to charge you when you leave the garage. Something like that.

My first time to Skagway I did the dog sledding and hold panning…I was with the whole family. It was a nice experience.
My last go around we walked the town and did some shopping.

Sounds like the travel agent screwed up when she did the bookings she should have asked, or you should have asked, that all cabins are at first sitting. Or when she booked you there may have been no room for all at first seating and she should have said so.
There will be someone at the dining room on fat 1 embarkation, you can try talking to them but that’s late to try and get all of you seated at the same seating let alone same area!
I’m surprised royal is speaking with you/usually once you use a TA it all goes through then. Is the TA post of an agency-see if you can find their boss to complete your inquiries.
It t be easy to move that family of 4 when you get there-you would need their cabin number when you speak to someone at the main dining room on embarkation day.
I’m hopeful someone will weigh in with the contact info for dining. I know there’s an email/i just don’t have it

There will need to be someone at least 21 on the reservation for each room when booking for sailings originating from the US. Other countries are 18.That does not mean they need to actually stay like that once they embark on the ship. There is no requirement that the rooms must be connecting for any passengers. I have heard there are workarounds, but this cannot be done online AFAIK.
Unless this is a new rule this is not accurate.
You will need a cabin with your teens booked directly across or adjacent to you. Of course a connecting stateroom would meet that criteria.
If you are traveling with unrelated children you need to familiarize yourself with the requirements for that., -

Do you know what time they have been letting you into the lot for embarkation? The last couple of times, we needed to wait until around 10ish.
Not sure with this new Metrapolis system, it can go quicker since you are not paying attendantThe garage opening for passengers is still the same…about 9:30 out later-I do feel like it’s closer to or at 10.
They do not open it earlier as they need to clear the garage off the previous sailing…imagine what that garage would be like if people are entering while you are trying to leave!
In the summer you will not likely get the garage unless handicapped. They line the cars up for the outdoor lot —-(as they try to do for the garage but that area can be difficult for line up due to people still getting picked up at 9/9:30. For some reason I feel they don’t allow you into the outdoor lot until 10.

On website it does say its open for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. I think it does stop serving about 8:30. It may depend on if there is a show in the Aquadome scheduled. Never did Breakfast, Did due Embarkation Lunch. And late Dinner., after a big lunch.
Breakfast? I must have missed that. Next time on on her I’ll have to check that out

At this point I just want him to be able to make it and I don’t care what he wears
. I’ve mentioned on a few of my posts the we have been dealing with some newly diagnosed heart issues for Peter (my husband). He has been scheduled for a cardiac catheterization on May 6 due to some new concerns his Cardiologist has. We went yesterday for the pre procedure visit and the NP didn’t seem so happy that we have this cruise just 3 days after…she is actually trying to get him in this Friday if at all possible.
We will just have to see what happens next…but honestly we both NEED this cruise…so praying no unforeseen issues pop up!So…I’ll post a picture IF the shorts
get him turned away
Sorry to hear this. Just an fyi-if it’s a comp be sure and get doctors notes if you need to cancel as casino Royale will put you on the naughty list and you’ll pay a non refundable $200 deposit for all your casino comps. They also don’t give you much time to pay that money for your existing comp cruises. Best to be proactive and send documentation right away (sorry I don’t have the email address where to send it to)
it all works out. We want to see the skirt you make him wear! Or-wrap a pool towel around his shorts/that’ll look like a skirt!

Look at rome2rio site, plug in where you want to leave from and travel to and it will give you suggestions. I know you can do a train -I believe you’ll need connecting trains.

Sigh. I’m getting mailed offers for the husbands cousin again which means my offers have stopped-again. This is getting very old

It is 48 hrs before the sail date-same as when the cruise planner closes. It will be subject to availability-as someone else stated-there needs to be room for the muster station/lifeboat occupancy. You wouldn’t know that until you call. If you call and they say no room ask if you changed cabins (hopefully within the same category originally booked) if you can then add someone. A good way to test that out before calling is to do a mock booking and see if you can still make a purchase of a cabin. (Just put into cart). If you can, that means there is room on the ship for that lifeboat.

We have Chef’s Table reserved for our May cruise. While I have no issue with the attire (silky palazzo pants and dressy tops are my typical dinner attire) my husband never brings slacks on a cruise…he is strictly shorts (some are pretty dressy like golf attire) and polo type tops, maybe a button down or two. Our friends are very much the same…she wears dresses and he is like a clone of my husband!
I’ve been researching and it looks like Royal isn’t very strict with the attire for this dinner so should they be ok?I can’t say I ever noticed anyone in shorts at chefs table…but if they did show up in them I don’t see where the guy pouring the wine and explaining the meal would ask you to leave…after all that’s 1 or 2 less people to hit up for an extra tip! You could also arrive early and be seated before anyone else shows up-no one would see the shorts, until a bathroom run is needed, by that time everyone would have had so much wine they may not notice.
If asked to leave have him go put on one of your skirts or a dress…It’s celebrity where you would have the issue-even in MDR-no shorts and ladies-no footwear with a strap between your toes! (Probably the same for men)

I stayed in a forward facing ocean view on Mariner…I’m sure it had a fancier title as it slept 6. Of you put one of the other kids in your cabin for booking purposes and they get that kid an extra room key he can stay in his parents room.
You should become familiar with the deck plans on the ships to find which cabins can sleep more people. When I have travelled with my family we have done connecting our adjacent rooms too. We are 6 when it’s all of us.
Here is Matt’s blog in the topic

I did this on Allure a couple of years ago. I absolutely LOVED the salad bar and tapas at the salad bar. I can’t say I enjoyed the meat. To me it all tasted of the same sauce. They also did not bring the best meat-we had to ask-by that point I had learned to ask for the meat without the sauce. I do believe there were sides but I cannot remember them.
i have never done the Argentina steakhouse thing before and after this-I think I’m good. I’m glad I tried it and I think the only way I’d do it again is if I was traveling with a family member that wanted to try it. -
I am very sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately when dealing with guest services I feel you need to record the conversation as they are quite good at changing the story. I remember she’s ago I had a problem with my cabin onboard and was getting nowhere with guest services so I called Royal when I got to a port with phone service, and voiced my complaint. I also followed up with an email. Thankfully guest services had indeed logged in each visit I made to them and the diverse issues. I did get a future cruise credit.
If you sail with them again and have issues not being addressed I highly recommend you reach out via social a or an email to the CEO with the subject “Currently onboard “x” and need an issue resolved “ They do tend to get the attention of someone onboard who will address the concern -

2) If you think Royal would have issues selling an Icon sailing with 2 ports, I don’t think you know this industry very well in 2025. In fact, I question the people who book a cruise thinking a major highlight is going to PDCC or Lebadee. There are a lot better and cheaper beach destinations to be had all over the states and the Caribbean. I’ve never heard someone cry about missing either one before…but first time for everything I guess!
Question away! I for one love going to CoCocay. I wish they would do an overnight! Lots of people were extremely upset when Icon couldn’t dock at CoCoCay due to weather -this happened at the end of March. People in the Facebook group were devastated and I truly felt bad for them but I was ok with it-I was going there the next week on my next cruise. Those people spent big bucks for their sailing and missed a highlight. CoCoCay is a big reason people book their cruise -with that destination in mind-either because of all the hype selling CoCocay or they’ve been before and want to go back. At least at CoCocay you are at your destination on a beach without having to wait for a bus, drive for a period of time and get back on a bus in just a few hours before having to head back.

Could be they are waiting till onboard? Or they are doing a day by day notification so as to not overwhelm whoever does the refunds?
You could be proactive and just cancel your excursions.

What steps should we take if we encounter issues while linking our reservations for the cruise?
Contact crown and anchor loyalty department
1 (800) 526-9723
when you get the morning aI assistant just keep saying loyalty. If you do anything else you’ll keep going through promos that “they can’t understand” or “ your birthday doesn’t match-let’s try again”…. Don’t fall for it “loyalty”, “loyalty”, “loyalty”!If you spell out your problem here maybe someone can address it here.

I recall someone getting a large bottle of Peligrino in the main dining room. I know it’s not the same as Evian but maybe it’s worth asking?
-
Yes, did this with my niece who was 8 at the time. All the kids seemed to have a great time. The rum drinks for the adults were good too!
