  1. My experience at IAH I flew in a day early, lied to Air2sea and said I was flying in day of cruise in order to get the Royal shuttle. (Supply them with flight info for the day of the cruise) I booked for the 9:30am shuttle. I arrived very early to the airport. Checked in with Royal-Terminal C at luggage pick up area-the info should be in your cruise documents.-though mine was wrong because they thought I was coming in international! but fortunately when I flew in a day early I scoped it out and asked the employees in the luggage area and was told Terminal C. Anyhow I arrive early and the Royal staff informed me there would be no 9:30am shuttle and we would be leaving at 11:30. There are about 8 seats in the luggage area….so lots of people waiting on this shuttle with no chair. we ended up leaving around noon due to a late flight coming in. a friend who was at the other Texas airport came in super late and was one of the last to get on the ship. She was booked through Air2sea though, and the driver told her another 20 minutes snd she wouldn’t have gotten a ride, when she got to the terminal there was no longer staffing for screening-emoloyees gone home-she walked right on. my next trip I booked with Galveston express. Super easy. Unfortunately I booked with Royal for the return to the airport and they had us standing in the Texas heat. Now granted, it’s 9am so not “that hot” yet but I burn super easy, waiting in the heat/sun for an hour was ridiculous. If I go back to Texas it will be Galveston express, both ways. As for the person saying Uber would be half the price, definitely not the case from IAH. Maybe consider contacting Galveston express to see their latest pick up. Also I believe if United is changing your flight time you have the right to switch to another flight at no cost?
  2. Yes but I don’t think you can do it online
  3. Everything JZX had said is the case. additionally, if you ever get an answer from the phone rep that you don’t agree with (think is incorrect) end the call and call back. Typically the next agent might understand and/or gave correct info. Worst case ask for a supervisor. ex of incorrect info: wrong pricing for an upgrade. Being told there are no cabins available. Incorrectly charging on a comp. and more
  4. I don’t know if mine was the exception, or if it was because I was in quarantine-so maybe not the standard. I ordered room service for disembarkation day for 7 am. They were so kind to call me at 6am and tell me it was on the way, I truly did not appreciate the call, nor the early delivery-especially since I was sick, so if you have a kid sleeping I think it’s important to hear from others…does room service actually call before they come up?
  5. Unless you are Diamond plus with 340+ points you would have the standard all in one body wash/shampoo in the shower and a small soap for the sink.
  6. I’ve done numerous sailings on Anthem and each time I go and see we will rock you. I’ve watched from front row balcony to various other locations but my absolute favorite was my last time-front row center. If you find yourself on the same ship with the same shows you might try changing your seating
  7. I’ve been on Royal ships that didn’t even have a cooler in the cabin.
  8. The screen for the balcony is in between the curtains. Aside from lacking an actual balcony space to sit on the cabin is the same. I had a regular balcony on Anthem followed immediately the next week with the interior with a virtual balcony. For the first 2days I’d walk over to pull the curtain more to see additional view like it was a real balcony. The view is real, it’s from a camera on one side of the ship
  9. You have to cancel 48 hours prior to the excursion to get your money back.
  10. The Price you purchased at is fixed at that price. If you see something cheaper you can cancel your order and repurchase it at the lower price. Royal does not price adjust already purchased items-thankfully- as many things have gone up!
  11. There are a lot of people who assume everyone gets up between 5am and 8am and therefore are in bed before midnight. There are lots of people, young and old, who are night people and don’t go to bed until 2,3,or 4 am. There are also lots of people who stay out past midnight at the clubs and casino . After midnight it’s pizza, snd only a pizza option-or you can order room service and wait over an hour for your “likely to be incorrect and/or cold food”. Personally I would love to see some healthy options available, or at least some sort of chicken. I have my cardiologist sitting on my shoulder shaking his head at the pizza and prior to midnight shaking his head at the mini sandwiches and cookies. While I did enjoy the midnight buffet all those years ago I’m pretty sure it was responsible for my significant weight gain by the end of the cruise. Thankfully I had brought along some larger size clothing so I had something to wear.
  12. Correct, also refunded are port fees and taxes.
  13. It has been my experience that it is less e pensive to buy the package in advance than using your one free day onboard and then purchasing your package onboard.
  14. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  15. No fee for a second entree. I don’t love the lobster enough to care about having it. I donate it to my husband if I’m traveling with him. That’s like an appetizer to me.
  16. Have to ordered room service and experienced the wait? first time recently and it was 2 hours at 10:30 at night. They said so upfront. We agreed. Food delivered was wrong. they can’t do room service in a timely fashion and correctly I can’t imagine them doing pizza delivery promptly. maybe I should tell my son to “door dash onboard” and he can make $ delivering pizzas!
  17. I do believe Anthem has virtual balconies for all of their interiors. I played doing some mock bookings and saw nothing about interiors without the virtual balcony. Che king around on the internet I found this https://www.worldofcruising.co.uk/cruise-news/anthem-of-the-seas-rooms-royal-caribbean-cabins#:~:text=If you are on a,the Seas virtual balcony rooms.&text=These interior cabins vary in,on outside in real-time.
  18. I wonder how many additional tails they sell on lobster night. I’ll guess not many. I’m thinking that move was to reduce the expense by not giving 2 or 3 per person. Imagine how they cut that lobster order at least in half, if not more. Huge savings.
  19. How would they check? The luggage porters at the pier wouldn’t count/weigh the luggage.
  20. Not got nothing. When do pool towels show up as not returned? I traveled with my son a few months ago and suspected the towel count was not in my favor the last night, especially since there was a pool towel in our cabin. When I inquired at the pool they said there were 2 out. I returned the one and told them the other must be an error. They removed it. There was nothing on the folio when I went to them, quite late the last night, to address this. Had we just returned one towel we would eventually have incurred a charge for towel#2.
  21. I agree with Eggbert, bring along some motion sickness remedies, I hear Guest services gives out the motion sickness pills. Ginger is good for motion sickness/I always bring that onboard. you can find green apples onboard though someone recently told me any apple would work as it is the pectin that calms the stomach,
  22. I never used either but a friend on a cruise gifted me with a band. It is so much easier than having to pack clips (did that years ago and propptly got rid of them). I like the band due to it being flexible to pack. I also like it to band down clothing that is still damp onto a balcony chair and not worry that the wind speed will send my clothes away.
  23. Glad the company heard the complaints and have gone with no charge. As for charging for those who eat late night, I would think it should be the opposite. If there were to be a charge it should be during the day when you have choices. At night there is no choice. Pay or don't pay is not a choice. It punishes all the people who go to the late shows and the dance clubs. They already charge for room service, and the wait is ridculous and they screw up the orders. But, it's settled for now. Yeah!
  24. Excellent. It does pay to have voices heard.
  25. Interesting. I had the repositioning cruise in April from Panama to Miami. I was emailed in December of a change, the ship would be ending in Ft Lauderdale and I was offered the option to cancel. I kept the cruise because I didn’t care where we ended. Turns out what their lengthy email failed to mention was the ship was no longer doing the lock, it no longer showed on the port stops they sent but they had left that tidbit out of their details. I was fortunate to catch on to that the week after the “decide by” deadline and my travel agent was able to get my deposit refunded.
