Utopia Episode IV: A New Ship - B2B - June 2-9, 2025
Ampurp85 replied to OCSC Mike's topic in Live Blogs
How are the crowds? Do they feel like a loose, party crowd? My one and only shorty Oasis left a bad taste in my mouth. So I can't say Utopia is on my list. -
room switch glitch! sometimes it's hard to be loyal!

I had this issue as well. They assigned the JS for my trouble. This was a casino comp with an upgrade. -
Specialty dining and show reservations
Ampurp85 replied to Shale6924's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Shows won't become available until around 30 days before sailing. Since your cruise is over a year away, the dining hasn't been sold out. They usually don't take reservations until 6-9mths. I am sailing icon in Jan and my dining became available last month, but not all of it. Just keep checking. -

Entertainment category missing on Cruise Planner
Ampurp85 replied to Lauri's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Welcome, Your class of ship doesn't do reservations for shows so there won't be an entertainment tab. -
If you embarking and disembarking the same day, Royal may provide a shuttle transfer. If not then your best bet is rideshare .

Do you tend to order the same thing on each MDR menu?
Ampurp85 replied to Eyeonhevn's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I am pretty much a tried and true type of gal. I order what I like, which is usually the same things. I'm a picky eater so if I can I try to avoid certain nights since the menu has been streamlined. Truthfully I only love Caribbean night in the MDR . -
Fort Lauderdale / Miami Side by side
Ampurp85 replied to Rage Shifty's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I did this twice in Jan. Royal provided a complementary shuttle. However if you are pressed to be on the ship ASAP. I wouldn't recommend. We were going from Symphony to Oasis if FLL then back to Miami for indy. We didn't get to indy until almost 1pm because communication and traffic. Also you will be noted on the system as needed the transfer, so just go to guest services to verify. -
Snacks aren't always about comfort. Even if they are, there is certainly something wrong with telling people to forgo something because they "are on vacation and x amount of days without it won't make or break them." That is a very entitled answer to a question no one asked. Also what makes a vacation, is up to the individual. Certain diets require certain things. I think people believe because there is so much food on cruise ships, that everyone will be satisfied and no one will ever be hungry. Not the case. The food on ships is seasoned for the masses and many people like to bring their own ........whatever to make it palatable. Personally my brother is a EATER, if we didn't bring nuts, pretzels, protein, etc he wouldn't be able to survive. My godchildren can't survive without Goldfishes, you best believe if I took them on a cruise I would be packing bags of them. Most of the ports won't have the exact item a person's craves. So why put yourself through the hassle.

"Amped for the Allure of the Med" - Allure, 5/11/25-5/18/25
Ampurp85 replied to JohnK6404's topic in Live Blogs
I am glad the weather was great. We went in Oct when it was supposed to be 80s and low 70s and it was 85+ all 10 days. When we went to Pompeii and Capri it was in the 90s, they got us on bottled water. Limoncello shots are such a thing in Italy. I don't think we went to any restaurant all across and didn't get the shots. After my second one, I was over it, but my brother and grandmother didn't waste them. -

We did a tour of Pompeii in Oct and the heat was unbearable. How was it for you? -
Everyone's definition of a snack differs. It sounds like you made your snacks from what was available. My snacks consist of chocolate candy, cashews and pretzels...... none of which is readily available on any cruise ships. So I bring my own. OP was asking because obviously what her children consider snacks won't be available.
-
We always bring nuts in a Ziploc or storage container. We put them in our checked bag and after 20+ cruises we never had an issue. I also want to say that on no cruise ship has snacks ever been abundant. This is particularity true if your snacks consist of nuts, chips, pretzels, etc. Is there food, yes, but snacks are few and far in-between.

You can go to guest services on boarding day and they will print new seapass cards. I believe you might want to wait until the rooms are open and you get your cards but it doesn't hurt to try to get it taken care of asap.

Finally doing my first B2B.....Utopia 5/23 and 5/26
Ampurp85 replied to LandstromCruise's topic in Live Blogs
Do you only play table games? Usually the table games aren't as busy during the open days hours. But given that this is a weekend "party" cruise they probably are more popular than on other ships. -

Wait "Bing Bong" is a CD right? I think he was CD on a cruise I was on, either Harmony, Freedom or Allure a couple of years ago. He was super nice and really engaging. -

YAY!!!! ITS CRUISE DAY I don't know when or if I will get to sail Utopia, so I appreciate all the blogs. Hopefully your son doesn't ditch you too much and you can enjoy some father/son bonding.......if not Master's is calling. -
I think it's too early. Usually things like the key and beverage packages show when you are closer to sailing.
-
I have one offer and my brother has none. I finished last year as a 10k+prime, if I had just a few more cruises I would have made signature. Yet my mother, who got a whole 1200pts, has more offers than the OP.

You will be able to book hibachi alone. Hibachi will be between $55-70. It is an extra $15 to add it on a dining package. Classic is options like chicken and shrimp, while premier will have lobster, scallops and tenderloin. Back in the day it was $15-20 extra for premier, I currently do not know the prices as I have been booking hibachi lunch and there is no surcharge.
