  1. This is the way... but bring poo-pourri in case you have to go at night.
  2. Each policy is different so you would have to check on your policy. Some have a "cancel for any reason" clause. Without that, I doubt it would be covered as itinerary changes are pretty normal for cruises for a variety of reasons.
  3. The school schedule changes are a definite challenge - and they are not timely about getting them finalized. My wife is a teacher, and we had one year where we booked for Spring break. The district schedule wasn't out yet, but the university of Texas schedule was out so I booked it because our district always follows UT. A few months later, the district put out their schedule with spring break on a different week. So I bit the bullet and took the charge to get it changed to the correct week. After the school year had started, about October, they realized that SB was different from UT's spring break and all the other districts that got it right the first time. They then decided in October to change it to match everyone else. At this point, the costs to change were crazy as the cruise price had gone up so much. My wife told her principal the situation and got her to agree to allow her to take the other week. It was still a problem, and my wife was not really happy about it. Luckily, it was a Panama canal cruise that ended up getting cancelled/changed with the option for a full refund so we just dropped the whole thing without penalty.
  4. If you are coffee snob that doesn't like Starbuck's, you are likely to be disappointed in the coffee choices.
  5. I just booked a Dec 28th 2025 cruise and was unable to book my MTD reservations. There are also no specialty restaurants available for booking either, so I assume there is an issue. It's only been a few days so I'm sure it will open up
  6. They can but Grand Cayman is a tender port so it rules out Oasis class - same issue with Belize.
  7. I've never been to Progresso but I really want to stop there to have easy access to Chichen Itza.
  8. I'm also seeing $71.99 for some of my future cruises.
  9. I agree and would also add that the room/balcony is larger. It is basically 1 1/2 the size of a normal balcony cabin. The sitting area is also nicer as you get a couch and 2 chairs. We were recently on a cruise with extended family members who were staying in a separate cabin and the sitting area came in handy. The other issue is the double points - If anyone is chasing status, it can sometimes be worth it at the right price. I have booked JS cabins a few times where they were the same or only slightly more than. I enjoy the extra space but I wouldn't pay more than a little extra over a regular balcony.
  10. I booked the "mystery cruise" yesterday through my MEI TA. Prices were surprisingly reasonable considering the ship and date. I am looking forward to my first RCB group cruise!
  11. I would not assume that they take the same transportation - it's unlikely.
  12. If you prefer the Main dining experience of a set time and the same waiter all week, just go to the MDR after you board and have them set up a MTD reservation for the same time/table.
  13. We just took a taxi to the beach. I would just be sure you make arrangements to get picked up as there are not as many taxis as in the Caribbean.
  14. It will almost certainly be cheaper before - the earlier the better in general. You can always cancel and rebook if the price goes down.
  15. I've seen it when you arrive before boarding actually has started. It can definitely be an issue if boarding is delayed for whatever reason.
  16. Yes, arrive a little before your check in time and there will be lines organized by time. At least for the early times - for later times it gets less organized. For the larger ships especially, it can be a little chaotic if you have never done it before. When you arrive, find the bag drop off area first and then look for the correct line for check in. There will be people to ask if you get confused.
  17. I am very excited about this!
  18. 1. Yes, there are plenty of shaded areas available. I would plan to get off early to find a good one. 2. The requirement is 48" for most of the slides - Are There Age/Height Restrictions at Perfect Day at CocoCay? | Royal Caribbean Cruises
  19. Thanks for the more detailed info. The Jones act shouldn't apply because it is Seward round trip and it does make the stop in a foreign port.
  20. You need to check in and get a boarding time but you can arrive early and use the suite line. If you arrive before boarding you will wait in the suite waiting area.
  21. I booked a BTB from Seward - Vancouver - Seward. Will we have an opportunity to explore a little in Vancouver after completing the reboard process?
  22. This is the way! I do this about 6 months out from my cruise and have never had an issue. Usually takes only a few days.
  23. I would plan to go to the dining room on embarkation day and have them make reservations.
  24. Usually 7pm is the earliest reservation for MTD so that may be part of the issue. I have never had a lot of success in booking "linked" reservations. I usually just make reservations on both bookings and then go to the dining room on embarkation day and get it all fixed.
  25. I would start checking about a year out. It is usually one of the first things that opens up.
