Nevermind. Christmas overload. This is not a Grandeur sailing. This was for a 7 night sailing on Allure. Disregard.

When I went on to look at the pricing for my already-booked cruises, I found that the cost of the 3 night dining package on my April 8, 2018 Grandeur sailing has gone up by $10. The price I paid a number of weeks ago for this package was $75/pp. Today's website shows a price of $85/pp for this 3 night package. I don't know if the price has increased for any of the other packages or not. We were only interested in the 3 night package so I don't know what the cost for the others had been in the past.

Our one-way car rental from Hertz was $65/day.

The last time they increased grats, if you had already prepaid them, the increase did not affect you. I hope it's the same this time. I always prepay. Glad it paid off this time. It does seem as though they are increasing the grats pretty regularly these days. I have my issues with the grats anyway but I don't want to start a gratuity bitching session...

We usually do a one-way car rental from the airport to Cape Canaveral and then do a [Royal] bus shuttle back to the airport from the pier but honestly, if you can get it all done through a single contact (GoPortCanaveral) I would probably say go for that. The only advantage of doing the one-way rental is that you have the car to use for the entire day and night while you are staying in CC. If you aren't interested in doing anything at Canaveral then I would say just do the shuttles and enjoy the hotel.

You are such a super sleuth ! I guess I must just be completely oblivious to my surroundings (no ninja here) b/c I never notice things like this but your blogs are loaded with these little insider tidbits. BRILLIANT !

We normally cruise at Christmas (various reasons) but this year we will be home. First time in YEARS ! Dan and I looked at each other last night and said, "shouldn't we be getting on a ship somewhere ?". Not really sure what to do with ourselves ! We will be in Vegas over MLK B'day weekend so that's not an option. We'll be having Christmas breakfast with our daughter and SIL and then I guess we'll just try and remember what normal people do on Christmas everywhere else ! Not to worry. We will be on Grandeur for a 12-nighter next year. Truthfully, we had a Christmas cruise booked on Adventure (San Juan) for this Christmas but the airfare was SOOO horribly expensive that we cancelled it. Of course, that was way back before the hurricanes hit so I'm not sure what has happened with airfares since then. Orange Crush - so glad to hear that your MIL is ok and that you rescued everyone from that [potentially] deadly family get-together !

We tried the Marriott Courtyard, Fort Lauderdale Beach for the first time recently (Nov.18 Allure). It is right on FLL beach and we had a nice little suite. Unfortunately, we arrived so late that we did little but crash for the night but I think there would have been a lot to do if we had arrived early enough to enjoy it. There was a live band somewhere in the very near proximity so it's a shame we weren't in any mood to go and enjoy it. This was a comp'ed room for us (we are both Marriott Rewards members for biz travel) but the room would have been $298.28 for the night if we had paid for it....which is not bad for a beachfront hotel in FLL. To be completely honest, I cannot recall how we got to the ship. Old brain. I'm sure there was some kind of shuttle from the hotel but whether or not we took it or just grabbed a cab, I simply do not recall. 440 Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 800-495-7972

I think the reason that the deluxe drink packages are showing an increase is b/c they had been selling them for 50% off and this new "sale" is only 30% off. Nice sale !
