  1. I read on another site that they are currently recruiting a new cast for Cats so it doesn't look promising that they are changing it out. So stupid...so few actually enjoy this show !
  2. We have done the San Juan departures many times. I can't really think of any drawbacks aside from the obvious...it's expensive to fly to San Juan. The last time we did this (April of this year) we stayed at a hotel using comp rewards so I can't comment on hotel costs with any current data. These southern Caribbean itins generally pack in a lot of ports and I generally prefer more sea days but that is a personal preference. Cruising in this part of the Caribbean during hurricane season can be a bit riskier than other parts of the Caribbean but only slightly. Actually, the western southern Caribbean (ABC islands, primarily) are fairly exempt from hurricanes so perhaps that is a plus in their favor. These cruises do have a larger volume of Spanish speakers, given the departure from SJ, but it isn't a noticeable problem, that I have experienced.
  3. This is probably my greatest disappointment with the advertised changes coming in the fall. I can't believe that they are keeping Cats as UNpopular as it is. I was also hoping they would add Hooked but it looks like Oasis is getting a barbecue place instead. Oh well... something different, I suppose. But please CHANGE Cats !
  4. Yep. This seems to be the price range on all of mine, too. The only one that has dropped below $49 is our August Liberty cruise which went down (only once and for a very short period of time) to $47.
  5. Sorry that this has to end, John. I know that feeling all too well. I hope you enjoyed Yen. We certainly did. Safe trip home.
  6. Hi, Jala. Welcome to the blog ! I highly recommend Michelle Cunningham with MEI travel. MEI is the sponsor of this site and many of the blog readers use MEI. Michelle can be contacted: [email protected] 703-986-0661
  7. Today the OBC from our RCCL Visa card hit our upcoming NAV reservation. We redeemed a week or so ago and it showed up today (6-14). Our cruise is on 6-28 so exactly 2 weeks prior to the cruise.
  8. So happy to see your live blog has begun. Happy for your birthdays and anniversaries. I know you're going to have a wonderful time. Good luck with creature sightings and fun events.
  9. Sounds like you wild ladies are off to a great start. ENJOY...and hoping you are able to get around without too much pain.
  10. I have seen waiters wrap up small amounts of food, like desserts, for you to take out but I have never seen any "to go" boxes. I don't think they would be likely to allow you to take entire meals out of the MDR "to go".
  11. They were getting so many erroneous charges for mini-bar items that they changed their process a few years back. Now, if you want anything in your mini-bar, you must request it at the start of the cruise. Otherwise, your mini-bar will be completely empty. I think this process is much better for most people. No chance of being charged erroneously and the "cooler" is available for other uses.
  12. Let's just say that the chances of getting a bad location GS are very low compared to the chances of getting a bad location cabin of any other category.
  13. Well...I guess the question has to be asked.... If the State Department didn't accept the Birth Certificate what are the chances that the cruise line will reject it as well ?
  14. Might be time to lock this thread up.
  15. Are they calling those rooms "Promenade View" now ? They used to refer to them as "Boardwalk View" or "Central Park View".
  16. Welcome to the blog site, Kpak. You needn't worry about the time change issue. The ship's Captain is the one who will decide whether the ship's time will change or not. They make it very clear and you will get notices in your stateroom about any time changes. One piece of advice....when you are leaving the ship, confirm what the "all aboard" time is and verify that your watch is the showing the proper time. ..and never EVER wait until the last minute to get back to the ship.
  17. LOL. Sounds like this is all my fault. No surprise there ! Sorry...$92 upgrade is fake news. SORRY !
  18. We had the same experience. The first time we saw it Yen sat us right up front but that made it difficult to see everything. The second time we asked her to sit us back a few rows and it was a very different show. We saw both Spectra and WWRY twice and loved them both so much.
  19. As Twangster said, this would basically be a re-booking. I think that, perhaps, you were hoping that couple #4 could just slip into couple #2's cabin and do a even trade-off. Unfortunately, it does not work like that. They would have to rebook into couple #2's cabin and it would be repriced not only from an inside to a balcony, but also at the prevailing rate. To be honest, $92 is a great price to move from an inside to a balcony ! I think it's a bargain and if they can manage to regain couple #2's location so that you are again a 3-some, that is a great outcome. Good luck. I hope it works out.
