  1. I think that is the yet-to-be-announced option in the highly unlikely case of bankruptcy ????
  2. If we could just convince them to lift and Shift the excellent cruise planner deals we recently purchased!
  3. And I am beginning to wonder when, under the unwritten rules of modern doublespeak, that "Voluntary" became a euphemism for "Forced by some irrelevant bureaucrats" ??
  4. I am so thankful they somehow managed to avoid using the phrase "out of an abundance of caution..." ?????
  5. The only Allure saling that I see that includes November 8 is the Transatlantic starting 11/1
  6. Could be database. I can see the front end on mobile and desktop as well as static pages . Signing in, looking up a booking and the app all give errors
  7. I've followed the same approach. My remaining concern is that I have some in the "uncertainty" zone currently that might be Lifted and Shifted or rebooked if cruising doesn't resume on time ... and I really lament losing a good deal ?
  8. I agree ... and the cruise lines are their last whipping boy ... and they aren't about to give that up. Everyone else has stood up to them, and like all bullies, they ran and hid. I hope the cruise line exec's have that leverage to bring to bear on them to.end this insanity.
  9. I have seen similar pricing differences seemingly based on dates and itinerary. I also believe that supply and demand plays a role also. I have seen true bargains on a particular class of suite only have prices almost double for the same sailing as inventory drops.
  10. Back in 70s and 80s, it was popular for commedians to joke about Soviet Bloc media .... mainly because it was true and low hanging fruit for joke writers. Our media today would be a laughing stock when compared to vintage Pravda! ?? AND since I clearly was just guilty of a deviation from theme... ... remember when we used to talk about cruises on this board? ?????
  11. Same experience for me with the app. Kept getting notifications of upcoming reservations just to remind me of the fun I was missing. ?
  12. I have not seen an official statement. There has been discussion here that they were not supposed to be awarded. I had a 3/15 sailing also that was cancelled. I received the points after the cancelled sailing would have concluded. The points were removed a couple weeks later, all without explanation.
  13. The part I laughed the most about was the lengthy description of a related topic involving creative barriers and access that have been expressed with two words that might not have made it past the censors. ???
  14. I agree with @Jill, reliability is suspect. have the sense that the facebook posting in question is the social media equivalent of candid camera ... or for those looking for a more modern reference: punked or impractical jokers.
  15. I agree that something is missing here. Unless the meaning is completely different than we think. Or ... this is a list that are not restarting on 8/1? Or is an office pool? ?
  16. And would we need new passport photos so facial recognition will work? New checkin photos for scanning our seapass cards? Will Seaface masks be invisible to the cameras? So many questions ... so little logic ...???
  17. That is a very good question. Here in the US, the response to this is generally divided along party lines. While he currently has little regard for the WHO, the President and those from his party are all for ending the restrictions and getting back to normal. The opposition party is extending restrictions and adding restrictions. The approach varies State to State depending on which side that State's Governor Aligns. What could prove interesting to watch is how the left and media respond. When the President was against the WHO, they were all for the WHO. Now the WHO is contradicting their narrative, what will be the next claim? Politics at its worst.
  18. I looked into it as well. The explanation I found is that through thorough contact tracing they found that all of the infections were traced to contact with symptomatic persons. I have seen the term rare used also, but it was described more as not impossible. A link from another thread. Thank you @Traveler And for the best news , WHO expert claiming the asymptomatic C19 patients are not likely to infect others - https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/06/08/asymptomatic-coronavirus-patients-arent-spreading-new-infections-who-says.html
  19. The media wanted us to believe that, but the statistics from the last week with concerns about Memorial day weekend as well as the large crowds protesting nationwide have shown the cases falling steadily. Couple that with the newest data from the WHO telling us that Asymptomatic people dont spread the virus and this plan we are commenting on makes even less sense.
  20. Yes! Trip Ticks! I recall that now. I think the last of those I saw was around 1997... crossing over with printing the directions from Mapquest and before Navigation systems were common.
  21. Yes I remember those. An early example of turn by turn directions in many ways. If I recall, they would come pre highlighted.
  22. I wonder if there be different compliance models when in a US port and in international waters. E-muster for example. Muster drills take place prior to departure and a plan to keep people apart may appease those scrutinizing. Casino is open only in international waters, so potentially different rules.
