  1. I'm the one who started the other thread and I can only answer that for my family, we have just never needed one.  We are just getting into cruising. During this last year, we had four....literally 4.....passport appointments cancelled. Every single one of them was cancelled the day of (within a few hours of the appointment) after we took off work. For the May cruise I was referring to on the other post, we just haven't received them yet and while I'm sure they would arrived before we sailed, I still wanted to go ahead and check in. I realize how valuable they are to have but finally getting an appointment and actually getting to send in the applications took an extremely long time.

Closed loop is a condition of birth certificates being accepted for US citizens.  One way cruises that start and end in different ports require a passport.

I've already checked in for my May cruise so I can't go back and start over.

Navigator on May 7 still appears to be bookable yet they said it is canceled?  That's odd although that is the expected outcome from my perspective.  My cruise isn't on Navigator but I expect it to cancel any day now.

Yes, the rep said it's cancelled but her reasoning didn't make sense to me at all because I've been unable to check in ever since final payment. While I do think it will be cancelled, I don't see how it would have been cancelled a few weeks ago so it still doesn't make sense to me as to why the system wouldn't let me check in.

  3. I've been trying to check in for a May 7 sailing out of FL and it has only been giving me the passport option for document type. I finally called today to see why I can't use birth certificate as an option and was told the system will only allow a birth certificate as an option for a closed loop sailing and (according to the rep) this sailing is in the system as cancelled so it's not labeled as a closed loop.....which is why I cannot select birth certificate.  Can anyone else with a May sailing see an option for birth certificate while checking in?

The only time I've experienced that pre-pandemic was in cases where a passport was required such as a transatlantic sailing.  Certain cruises require a passport and only in those cases was passport the only option at check in.

This one is just a 3 night sailing to Cococay. For some reason the app never works for me and always says check back later (even after deleting and reinstalling) so I was trying it online and that's where I saw the passport only option.

  5. I was just trying to check in for a May sailing (that I'm sure will get cancelled but just in case) and there used to be an option to choose birth certificate as your travel document and now the only option is passport. My passport should hopefully arrive in time but I don't know that for sure and I don't have the number and expiration off of it anyway. Is this new?

An update on this Topic.. January 15th 2021 MyVegas Slots had Royal Caribbean cruises offered... 2-4 night Freedom out of Miami and 4 nights on Adventure out of TX.  I grabbed a 4 night Freedom to Coco Cay and Nassau. for Dec. 2021  only had to pay for Taxes, port fees and of course Grats.  When I saw the offers each date had 1 to 3 offers remaining they were gone quick!!

We also snagged one on Freedom for January. I didn't upgrade when I made the reservation (actually forgot about it until now) but I need to before I forgot again!

If your children have sailed with Royal they should have C&A numbers.  Phone or email C&A to make sure they do.  Don't call the general Royal number, call or email the Crown and Anchor team.

    ‭(800) 526-9723 or crownandanchor@rccl.com

Also make sure they are noted as your dependents if they are under 18.  Once they are established as dependents they will level up as you earn new levels even if they don't sail every time you do.  Once they turn 18 they will be frozen at whatever level you have at that point in time unless they continue to sail and earn points on their own merit that gets them to the next level.

If C&A confirms now that they have C&A numbers are are showing as gold the double points will apply to them.  That's still important for later in life once they turn 18 assuming they continue to sail because their advancement will solely be based on their individual earned points so making sure they get double now will help them down the road even if they get your level until turning 18.

Thanks...I sent an email to verify.

You receive your C&A membership upon first cruise completion. You can call and get numbers for your kids in advance of their first trip, but they won't officially have status (equal to yours) until after they cruise. The double points YOU receive will count toward their status (until they turn 18).

They have also already sailed once. So from what you're saying, I think that would mean they already officially have gold status and would earn their own double points as well and not just taking my status, right?

  9. Does one automatically become a C&A member after your first sailing, or does one need to sign up after your first sailing? I'm wondering specifically about my kids.  We have only been on RC once and I have my C&A number, but I wasn't sure about the kids. Specifically, I'm trying to see if they will also earn double points on future applicable sailings - even if I haven't signed them up for anything.

  10. When I log into my RC account on the computer, when I go to plan my cruise I see everything normal (excursions, drink packages, etc.)

When I open the app and view my sailings, every option for plan my cruise says "We're putting the finishing touches on your cruise. Check back for updated information"

When I go to the website on my phone and go to plan my cruise, it just keeps taking me back to the login screen.

I have updated the app. Does anyone else have these same issues? It's annoying only being able to browse options and excursions on a computer.

  11. I want to purchase the unlimited photo package for an Oct 2021 sailing and when I go to cruise planner, there are 4 options. Up to 100 prints for $134, 20 prints for $119, 10 prints for $97 and a private photo session for $159. There isn't an option for unlimited. On my soon to be cancelled Feb 2021 sailing, there isn't an unlimited shown either - largest is up to 50 prints.

Are there still unlimited packages available? 100 prints is still a lot and I will get that one but just wanted to check and see first. Thanks!

Go here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-deals. Then click on the Kids Sale Free (the left panel). Hope this helps!

This is not working for me. When I click that, it's like it is showing me all of the available sailings. I can't find any that are showing as kids free. It may just be me and I need to use a different browser.

That's how I used to be able to see it but now it doesn't show that tab on mine.
