  1. here in Canada at Costo, Xmas decorations/trees/wrap etc out in August....snow suits out in July....its crazy.. Would love to do a Christmas cruise one day when I am rich!
  2. I liked Indy a little better than Navigator......CD's were better(but gone now), pool deck area seemed to be bigger....nightlife was better(two level night club).....but I wouldn't worry too much between either...for me would come down to price and itinerary......all things being equal there I would prob pick Indy.
  3. That's months away and they have that problem now?....Can't get it fixed in the next 2 mths?
  4. Interesting...would be a good option for those that have later flights.....haven't seen it offered on any cruises I have done yet. But would be much better than joining the herds of cattle all trying to get off the ship at basically the same time...lol
  5. Wow...seems pretty plain and blah looking.....I didn't do MDR on my last cruise....so the last time I did MDR was Feb of 2016 and it seemed to look a lot better than that each time!
  6. If its close in time, I would leave it all as is...if you start the process now and not everything gets changed I am guessing there could be issues at some point along the way with your travels. That's not a legal answer I know.....lol...but from what I have heard and read from others in the same situation it seems like this would be the best course unless you have lots of time to gt everything changed and back before your vacation!
  7. I love both ships.....I think the 5 day to Cozumel, Cozumel is the only port? So that's 4 full days on the ship.......with 3 kids going you want a ship with lots of activities.(which Indy has) However, on Enchantment you prob have 2 ports or maybe 3 in the 4 days and if its stops at Nassau and Coco Cay plus maybe Key West that may give the kids more to do during the day at those places. The 17 and 20 yr old may find there isn't much for them to do on the 5 day cruise as they are too old for the kids sections and games but not old enough to join in with the crowd that is able to enjoy drinks by the pool and the night life etc.... Just my 2 cents...
  8. No....only the person with the drink package can drink on it..the other person would pay per drink.
  9. Yes...be safe and book it is my recommendation...can always cancel before the cruise if you change your mind. Often there is 20% off when you pre-book.....plus its nice to have it loaded when you board the ship on your card. it will be fleet wide by 2018.......if they can charge people double and make more $ from it....of course they are!!
  10. I hope it is a rumor.......as I have yet to sail on her...and it would be another smaller ship being given up and replaced with the mammoth ones
  11. One of the down sides of the non-refundable deposit. Once its booked, your penalized to change or cancel the original booking. Can' t imagine the OBC credit is worth it.(I am actually platinum and wasn't aware you get ANY OBC because of it, never mind a bigger amount?!)
  12. Love bartenders and plant my a@@ there for hours each day whether it is the pool bar or the casino or....you get the drift. So its not being lazy nor is it not wanting to be sociable..but sitting at a table with 7 other ppl for 2 hours or so enjoying a meal..it is a pain and even somewhat rude to be getting up to go to the bar to get drinks imho..that's all I was saying..... I meet and make most of my friends on cruises around the bars...and the bartenders get to know me and me them. I have gone back a year later on a certain ship and the bartender remembered me and even my drink of choice. I have had bartenders that work different bars on the ship and they have brought my preferred mix(blueberry redbull) from one bar to another for me so I don't run out or have to go looking for it. Now that's service!
  13. bring one with you!!!!....I have often waited till the meal was almost done before they asked/showed up with my drink. IF you want a coffee with bailey's with your dessert for example, make sure you order it at the beginning of your meal to insure you get it in time to enjoy with your dessert. I have actually left the table and walked out to a bar and come back with a drink quicker than ordering in the MDR......so yes, they serve you there but.....
  14. Sounds about standard for Royal and their BOGO sales or 30% off each guest..or the bogo 50% off whatever sale......99% of the time its the same amount/price, just advertised a different way each time to make it look like a sale or a deal. I cant bother getting into the math and details as it drives me crazy with them....BUT, 2 devices should NOT be more than the cost of 2 individual plans for sure.....no matter how small the amount is.
  15. To each their own...I also don't fly with a carry on.....its a risk to take but I hate dragging stuff around or afraid I will put it down and forget about it. Makes for a much quicker and smoother process when flying to say the least. Same for me on the boat....I am there to drink, enjoy the pool and make the most of the first day that I paid for.......while I can understand some maybe wary of checking it all in.....all I can say is that I have done 10 cruises and about 20 trips south and have yet to have lost or had anything delayed...could it happen? Sure, but then again you could die on the flight as well so really, life is full of risks..lol. I may be the extreme case of packing light and not dragging things around....but I have seen families ......and singles for that matter looking miserable and hot and sweaty for hours pulling stuff around the ship...to each their own. But please don't take up extra seats in the windjammer cause u choose to carry ALL your luggage with you..or take extra seats on the pool deck either... Cramming suits and clothes into your carry on to look dapper in the dining room the first night...not sure how dapper that suit would look crammed in your carry on.....if your worried about your suit case taking 3 days to get to your room you should really double pack everything just in case.............that is not the norm I am sure.
  16. Defn buy in advance...nice to walk on and order that first drink without waiting. It can be quite busy and lined up by 1 or 2pm with people trying to buy the drink package. Also, often you can get it for 20% off in advance. Freestyle machines are great.....love it for the powerade in the mornings. Wish more ships had them as out of 10 cruises so far, I think 4 of them had it.
  17. Best advice I can give is to not bring to much on board with you...check it in and have it delivered to the room. Nothing worse than trying to lug around 100 pounds of suitcase weight through the halls and into the windjammer with thousands of other people. I try not to bring anything on with me..makes for a much more enjoyable and relaxing first few hours on board...and provides some entertainment watching others trying to navigate around the pool deck with suitcases for hours...lol It's a great time to get some nice pics of the different venues on the ship as well before they become crowded and a good time to get a feel for the ship and where everything is. Also a great time to bond with a bartender when its not busy and make a friend for the week!
  18. Been on this ship 4 times...its a great ship for your first time! Lots to do and see.....great pool deck and views at the Oasis Bar there!
  19. It was a last min cheap deal that got me to take a chance on my first cruise ever and it was with Royal! 10 cruises in 4 years with them since. If it was not for that cheap deal, I would never have taken 1 cruise, so they would have lost out on the next 9 I booked with them. People pay different prices based on state, age, job, type of cabin, different travel company booked with.....its a choice. If someone gets a better deal for you than any reason, it's life!
  20. I think they should try and have a competitive price year round...but to say you would rather sail with empty cabins, then that's an issue for me. That doesn't even seem like a good business practice....flying or cruising with empty seats is never a good thing.....empty tables a restaurant is not a good thing.....you get my point.... Anyways....I still like Royal and will cruise with Royal for the time being..but I can tell you that no one else that I know that has booked cruises in the next cpl years has booked with Royal so far...based on high pricing and drink packages.....so it maybe just a matter of time till I have to/end up changing as well which is too bad after 11 consecutive cruises with them! If Royal wants to not drop prices or give sales or last min deals..they need to start including some promos......compared to their completion(MSC, NCL) they really don't.
  21. I don't see why dropping the prices to fill empty cabins is a bad thing for a company. For those people that do check and see it lower will be happy to rebook....most people don't check and get upset to be honest. And I always though that the cruise lines made most of their profits on what ppl spend on board on drinks and meals and extra's...so cruising with EMPTY cabins means that your not getting a penny of revenue for those cabins.....(and still have the same amount of staff and expenses generally) Plus, everyone likes a deal or a sale or last minute vacation..... I think its pretty arrogant of the CEO to proudly state they will sale with empty cabins rather than give customers a break on price......I can't wait till that comes back to bite them....at some point it will....it has to..... When your so big you can openly tell the world that you will rather not sell your product to people than give them a deal cause your making record money off the ones that are paying for your product......that's a terrible attitude to have!
  22. I did this in January...off Navigator in Miami...did the self-disembark....was at the airport just after 9 am....
