How would that matter now? You already booked with a non-refundable deposit. Are you able to re-book now and get a better deal even though its non-refundable? I am confused.

How do you know its a better deal...doesn't the pricing/promo only start the 24th? Only thing we know right now is the OBC..if pricing is higher than it still may not be a better deal at the end of the day right?

Damn...I was on Navigator and never saw that...would have been something to check out for sure!

Do some ships have queens and some kings? I have never noticed a difference in my 10 cruises so far!

Tampa was a pretty easy port to get in and out of and very quick and easy on my 2 experiences there cruising on Brilliance.

With Royal, the Suites and high end reward members get priority boarding.....and a separate lounge at some ports to wait for boarding. As for rooms being ready first, not in any of the regular rooms that I know of. Someone here may be able to confirm about the suites but I don't believe so, at least on any cruises I have been on I am not aware of.

hard way to learn for sure.....the airlines kill us on those change fees...really seems not fair as they are still making their money and selling the seats but.... But its worth the peace of mind for this trip and future cruises to come I am sure!

I know I have asked this before, but cant seem to find or remember the answer. What/how do they base it on? It is points earned while in the casino or time spent there or money spent there or some formula of all 3? Only time I had anyone in our group get anything from the casino she had played for a few hours each day/evening....but wasn't a lot of her own money. But she won lots and then played lots. One night she was given some kinda package, became a Casino VIP person and had some kinda deal offered for her next cruise(she didn't get into all the details with us during the cruise) Anyone with firsthand knowledge/experience? I understand if you blow $50,000 you may get something in return, but for the average person who is playing in there....what is the benchmark of what you are probably going to need to do/spend/time in there to be offered something?

I have used that app in the past....had some neat features on it for sure. Never used the site that I can remember. Will be interesting to compare the checking in procedure with Celebrity in January and then Royal in April to see what if anything is different or has changed.

I have taken advantage of this a couple cruises and set up a cash account for that very reason. Any idea if this works the same way with Celebrity?

So they still take the time to take your picture at the doc to put on the card...but they don't have the time to give you the card?

Weird ....I can see those paper things getting wet, torn, barcodes smudged etc....and I know often rooms are NOT ready at 1pm to say the least on cruises I have been on..often its 3 or so to be honest in my experiences..... Maybe on the bigger ships it adds up time wise to being quicker..but to be honest, I have never found it to be really the check in that takes the time....usually its the line after the check in til they open the ship up that takes the time... Good to know though.....maybe another reason they want to hurry up and implement the self check in?!

That's a weird way to do things...Seapass cards outside the rooms when they are ready? In the meantime they have 5000 ppl using paper set sail pass to use at the bars and resturants etc? I have never been on Harmony, but on 10 previous Royal cruises this has never been the case.....makes no sense to me. Someone else that can confirm this would be the most weird way of checking people in and NOT giving them their sea pass cards? Don't you need to show and scan it to get on the ship and through security etc?

Yeah, so no Gatorade on any royal ships and only on the freestyle ones can you get the PowerAde and yes, they have the Zero in a bunch of flavors. Brings it back to the long running discussion/question as to why Royal wouldn't put these machines on all their ships. So much easier and convenient if they did.

I am surprised that its such a well know rip off and yet they continue to sell them and profit from them. Surely to god with all the Royal cruises having ZOOM that u will now check the real value of this stuff before getting scammed....lol All the stuff is pretty cheap and is what it is on their sales. Its fun to go down and get caught up in the moment but lets be honest, none of it is quality.

I wouldn't either..or I would be a quick 20 min walk around and back on the ship. Its bad enough you have to pay for every day9even when long port days) never mind when they want to dump you off on as island for the day and make you pay there too. Maybe they should charge for the meals instead on the private islands and keep the drinks flowing a part of the package!

don't tell me this...I am already really excited about my upcoming Celebrity cruise and Celebrity in general based on what I have already heard and see about them. Now I have to start looking at Royal and Celebrity everyday for deals..haha

Just ordered me some of the good ones with the metal rings...ordered the ones that were just plastic a cpl years ago(as we couldn't get the good ones shipped to us in Canada) and they didn't stay on the luggage as well. Excited to get these nice ones now...one step closer to my Jan cruise now! :)

Yes, its a short one, so I get they don't offer any perks. But a 20 or 30% sale off your cruise planner would still be nice. But I guess that is more of a Royal thing and for Celebrity its more about including perks at higher levels. Which will be great if this cruise goes well and I book another Celebrity cruise in the future.

What about Tampa...no ships listed any longer out of Tampa and the 2 ships based there show out of Europe....any chance Empress or Majesty may move to Tampa?

yeah...I don't book those types of rooms so I don't get those extra perks..hence why I was asking if they ever have cruise planner sales.

Any idea what/where is happening to Majesty in all of this? What about Empress? And I don't see any ships listed out of the port of Miami?!!
