Yes..with the total suspension of cruising till April now....then they have to set up some mock cruises to get approval...and then they can slowly start to roll out cruising with very limited #'s and full of restrictions. And then if course if there is an outbreak or two when it does resume, watch out! Nothing is going to happen before the fall at the earliest..and that's assuming there are no issues or complications with the vaccine or the roll out(already is) and no major shifts or changes with Covid in the population(which already appears to be happening) Cruise industry is sunk for 2021 to be honest....its going to be a tough go for any cruise company to stay afloat for ANOTHER 12-18 months before "regular" cruising happens imho.

Pretty much in line what i have been saying...and I am not a cruise expert...

No surpirse at all....... Wash....Rinse....Repeat...... This has been the story of the cruise industry..keep cancelling for 3 mths out at a time or so.....wont be the last one we see I am sure.....perhaps after the next one that will take them through June of 2021 it may start to change...as in ONE ship trying to start back from the fleet...but even that is iffy at this point based on the past and where we are currently.

I would say that a year from your post, we still wont be much further ahead from where we are now....no fast tracking to cruising.....

Was just stating facts..... Would have it been higher?...sure....but more people died of any # of other things during this time that wouldn't justify a lock down..strange this would.....but that's a whole other conversation I would gladly have anytime with anyone but not here. For example in BC...drug deaths have risen to more per month than Coronaivrus.....so we saved lives from the Covid by locking down..but the result is more people died as a result of that at the end of the day.....there is no winning. My point is...that cruising is NOT coming back anytime soon...the vaccine requires we still be locked down according to health officials and doctors and goverments...at least here in Canada......thats fact. Even if you don't agree or believe me or them, it doesn't change the fact....we cant travel now and wont be able to for a long time yet... Sucks!

Here in Canada we are told this every day.....and its the same vaccine we are using.... I am hoping its all wrong too..but I dont think so....come back and visit this post in a year and we can see...

Does it work?...you can still get it and spread it even with the vaccine..so while not a scientist, in layman terms...that would be that it doesn't work. I mean, you cant have it both ways...and that's just factual. SO.....you got the vaccine..but you can still catch it and spread it to others all over the cruise ship........yeah, cruising isn't coming back with that kinda vaccine. On top of that...you know there will be delays, issues, compilations along the way..Biden has told the US that the darkest days are ahead.......and once Royal does start up cruising on a very limited and testing basis for a couple months...and then you have to hope there are no outbreaks or problems on those cruises.......so 2022 before "normal" cruising is certainly quite possible and likely at this point!.....

Yeah..and my quote should say we are NOT getting rules relaxed till the fall..and thats assuming it all works out perfect and no issues or problems in the next 8 months......thats alot of "ifs"....... We were looking at a September cruise but not at this point..way too much uncertainty and IF'S.....even the November one I think is iffy..I give it a 75% chance at this point...a Sept cruise would be 50/50...anything sooner isn't worth the risk, worry and $$ being tied up!

Cant imagine that will happen...by April...I am wary about November at this point....we have been told in Canada that vaccine does NOT mean relaxed travel or social distancing.....status quo till at least end of summer it appears....better luck to my American friends and sailors!

Actually...NB has had 8 total deaths from Covid..out of a population of 750,000 in 10 months...and we cant travel and are locked down with masks and social distancing..so out of a Million ppl, you have less than 1 person dying a month from it here...if you shut down for those numbers, it will NEVER open back up. So if you do the math...Covid 19 will basically have to eradicated worldwide for cruising to start.,.that aint happening for years and years based on current #'s and projections....and even with Covid 19 vaccine, it appears we can still get it and spread it... So remind me how this will make cruising happen again?!...?

So I could just choose to wear mask the rest of my life and never get it or give it, so why get vaccinated?...Everything pretty much they have told us has been wrong now and changed their mind so many times...lock downs, circuit breakers, masks, social distancing and its the worse its ever been now with ALL those restrictions added together...make sense?! SO everyone who is getting this Vaccine has NO idea if it will stop you from getting it or giving it......awesome...lol If that's the case,,then cruising is never coming back..end of story.

LOL...what??!...IF the vaccines prevents you from getting Covid, then you cant spread what you don't have!!!!!.... On the other hand, if you get Covid..then the vaccine didn't work AND of course you can transmit it.... Please tell me all about the other vaccines we have that have eradicated certain diseases......but you could still get the disease and spread it if you had the vaccine......

Not in Canada..they had told us numerous times from our Chief Medical officer that the vaccines does NOT mean that you can't get it or spread it....that's why masks and social distancing will remain the norm for at least a year and they will not relax restrictions any time soon. This is all over every news channel, government website, Health sites, news sites etc..... Do YOU know more than all the doctors and scientists and the government in Canada? Even if vaccinated...you are still locked down and made to wear a mask and stay home here in Canada...perhaps different countries are telling their people different things. I am not a scientist..I am just like the rest of the sheep, taking commands and obeying our fearless leaders who know all. Even vaccinated people can carry and spread it..that's been pretty common news/doctor speak here in Canada now ever since the vaccines have been made available.

They have stated the a vaccine wont stop you from getting it or spreading it....so untill everyone has it..its never going to go away.....its not a vaccine IMHO like they have produced in the past. If you have a measles vaccine or polio etc, you arent scared of getting or or giving it to ppl..thats the point of a vaccine. Seems not to be the case with this.. It's a mess....and with the US saying it iwlll be fall of 2021 before they can vaccinate all those want want to be(which leaves about 40% of th epopulation NOT vaccinated).....its a disaster.

I think 2021 is looking like a write off at this point to be honest....and the news appears to be getting worse... IF 2021 doesn't get better than 2020, I feel the cruise industry will be sunk...along with alot of airlines, hotels and vacation property and companies..

Kinda how I feel...I was all ready to sign up for the vaccine if its going to allow me to travel, but it appears it will not be that simple. You can still get Covid for up to a month after??..plus you can spread it but not have it affect you???...so masks and social distancing and border closures are to be expected for months and months...probably most of 2021 at this point...and thats assuming nothing wacky happens..like issues with the vaccine..or delivery....or new strains/mutations..... No rush here to get it either at this point...as nothing changes for me so its not worth the risk at this point...sad as it looks like 21 will be a wash....not sure the cruise industry can handle another year of lock downs

New Health Minister(not what you guys call them in the US but I am drawing a blank) for Biden said its probably going to be fall now before vaccines are wide-spread in the US..... News getting worse all around......for everything.

I just checked...they are gone...:(...was the only reason why I started playing those games to be honest. Hopefully its temporary.... but I see MSC and NCL are still thre so not a good sign... Not sure what to do with almost 20 million LP now!!!!!

Don't be so sure..new strain/mutation...thousands infected in the UK...knew about this since Sept but we are now only hearing?..hmm....shutting down air tavel in and out of the UK...... I have a bad feeling about 2021...

We will see...new strain shutting down airplane/travelers all over the world to travelers from the UK...this is the norm......we will have to see if this is another yearly set-back......not a good sign for cruising if this doesnt get under control...vaccine or not.

I didn't hear this..but sad to see this...I was hoping to get on Empress before this happened but... I feel the longer this goes on...the more of this we will see. No one thought 9 mths ago or maybe even 5 months ago Royal would be selling ships in 2021 to deal with Covid.....god help the cruise industry if the vaccine doesn't work(which already seems to have questions about how well it works and how long it lasts) or if there are further strains or mutations that cause more/new/different cases to break out and spread. I find it quite contradictory how people quickly will say, well based on history this vaccine will work and we overcame this illness, epidemic, depression etc, but they aren't willing or don't realize that alot of things changed in history as a result of these events. Could cruising be a thing of the past someday.....quite possibly if this doesn't change quickly.

Not a doctor here but...ha.....This is a legit fear and question...the medical experts will tell you that it wont of course..but we all know that the "science" changes as things come to light and more people experience it or report it....
