  1. We are on the first sailing out of Florida after Allure returns for the season (November 15); or that was the original scenario, not sure what it looks like now or if it will even be affected at all. I am happy going on Allure not amplified; I've never been before so won't know what I am missing. What has me curious is if they will still get the 5 year dry dock general maintenance done in time, or if that's going to affect any future sailings once things get opened up and rolling again. I considered switching to a different ship but this is the trip we've had planned the longest, our first 7 day, and have invested the most time, planning and finances in so the thought of cancelling and starting the planning process on another ship is daunting. Then the price for our suite went down about $900 so I'm quite happy where we are!
  2. The only experience I have with UDP on a 7 night is for a trip I have scheduled on Allure in November this year; for that trip it's $179. I haven't been on either ship to compare options available; judging by that limited info I would guess $154 is a good price but I don't have adequate experience to give you a definitive answer. I can say, however, that if you're comfortable with that price then purchase it now and if it goes lower you can cancel and repurchase at the lower price. That's advice received on these pages often ?
  3. That price is for the entire cruise, not per night. While I don't believe it's mandatory to cancel your Main Dining reservation I think the general consensus is it's a good idea to let them know. Happy sailing!
  4. When our Cococay stop was cancelled due to weather they were offering Coco Locos all over the ship that day, so maybe there's an exception!
  5. I booked the 2 casino offers I got recently for August and September; I am still planning! It helps me thru these times ? Although I am not in the planner daily as I was before with a cruise in May coming up ? No big discounts for those two sailings but appreciate the heads up! Beach Club went from $149 to $79 as mentioned in another thread so that made me happy, rebooked it for one of the 2 upcoming.
  6. So sorry, For some unknown reason I missed the restaurant was in your topic title. I think the experts here on the boards advise closer to sailing, keep an eye on your planner and one day it will show up
  7. closer to the sailing more becomes available; **edited because my question was answered in your topic
  8. My May cancelled sailing was to Labadee and Cococay, I purposely chose that itinerary and would do so again if given the opportunity!
  9. Thanks so much for the fun video! I agree and wonder the same thing. We have a tubing excursion ("Adventure Falls and River Tubing") booked in Jamaica for November and wonder if it's similar to what you've shared here. There are a few tubing opportunities and being our first time at that stop we decided we minimally wanted to go tubing, but I'm always wondering if I picked the right one. It looks like we have the option to hang out at Adventure Falls if we chose to afterward, so that's why I picked that one. Jaymac, Can you kindly share which excursion and where the tubing was?
  10. Independence of the Seas, September 24th, 2020. Thanks again to all of you who participate on these boards
  11. Thank you for that info, I had Indy booked for a cancelled May trip but hadn't viewed it in comparison to the Voyager class or thought about it from a young adult's view; thanks for the summary, it helped solidify my plan. Independence sailing Thursday thru Monday as opposed to Monday thru Friday saves me 2 days vacation over going on the other's 4 night itinerary so that's what I'll book in the morning. Thanks again. BTW, I suspected that your amazing sunset shot in Royal's Zoom background offering! I saw you mention one of yours was on there, and I wondered if that was it.
  12. Hiya, thinking of doing a quick trip to Cococay usually leads me to think of Mariner and Navigator; but I noticed Independence has some 4 night trips going to Cococay as well; I've been on Mariner and Navigator, can anyone tell me the main differences between those and Indy? I'm going with my 21 year old daughter and staying in a balcony and wondered if I should try Indy instead of Mariner/Navigator. Opinions?
  13. I may have already said it but worth saying again- thanks so much for this blog! It's super appreciated during this time!
  14. We used the from a cancelled cruise to upgrade to an Owner's Suite for a future trip too, I'm so excited about this room! I can't wait to see how you enjoy it.
  15. no changes like upgrading rooms, or changing dates? As in NO CHANGES whatsoever? Yikes, that hadn't occurred to me!
  16. this is my favorite joke of all time
  17. August 28th, 2020 Mariner of the Seas
  18. I just posted about this in another area of the boards, I never thought I'd get this type of offer so I haven't paid a much attention to the casino threads and missed this one! I would love to take advantage of a week-long sailing on Harmony but can only sneak in a quick weekender to accommodate husband's schedule. I'm grateful for the opportunity though and feel like I need to hurry up and book or they'll revoke the offer ? It feels too good to be true, I did not think I spent enough in the casino to earn such an offer but boy did I try. I don't have any question here I just wanted to join in the excitement! We're able to upgrade from the interior to a junior suite for $540. We were looking at a similar sailing that would have cost us a little more than double before the offer came! We love our agent with MEI so I'm bummed to hear she can't manage the reservation but we'll get her next time. Happy sailing all! EDIT TO ADD QUESTION: I just hopped onto the Casino site to look at the offers there and see another one I hadn't seen before this, how can I find out what that offer entails? If I click REDEEM will it deduct the offer from my available offers even if I dont book? I am just looking to see what it entails.
  19. First steps on board, and listening to the ocean at night as mentioned above.
  20. We got our first casino offer for a 'free' cruise!! Just now! So I called the casino folks and they had a pretty large selection of ships out of 3 Florida ports to choose from over the summer, I was kind of surprised at the big selection and that I even got the offer, they must have lowered the standards to get the offer haha Anyhoo, although the 7 night on Symphony (OMG!) or Harmony (wow really?!) are both included, DH is going to want to do a quick weekend trip to not miss as much work. What do I need to know about booking a casino cruise? I know we need to pay taxes and fees which came out to $177 for both of us, is it really that simple? I did check on upgrade price to go to a JS and it was about half the price that we were going to pay for us to take the same cruise before the offer so I'm pretty excited. Anything I need to know? Tips, things I haven't thought of? is it really that simple?
  21. Sorry if this has been discussed here, I don't recall seeing it We know the AMP is on hold but do we know when the regular dry dock maintenance will be done? It doesn't sound like they can do it now while things are shut down, so am beginning to wonder if the regular dry dock maintenance will affect Allure's schedule for later this year. Any idea?
  22. I really wish those disappeared when they're cancelled. It stinks to scroll past the 40 day countdown to the 228 day countdown.
  23. there are several available in March if my requirements are only March 2022, Quantum or Oasis classes! But bummer I won't get to meet all you who will be on that sailing. I may finally be able to get a price on one! and of course book, just trying to figure out what the justification will be to actually book it once I get the price... Sorry for the hijack; I am thinking of pricing with 3 people and having one of our kids join us so this stood out to me.
