  1. @not easy being green nothing yet, @Sharlawas just told Royal is backed up and will get back to her soon. I know she escalated it. My final payment is due in 7 days. Sharla won't let me lose my sailing despite Royal. I booked this way back and can't believe this is so messy. It's just so frustrating, but if I cancel under cwc they will sell my cabin probably at double the price.....I wonder if this is their goal ?
  2. Team Cami! She is the BEST!! We were just leaving when she returned after her time off. Love her!
  3. I understand this is disappointing, but can you make it work with the way it is? Honestly for my family while we love and cherish each other, I personally would NEVER want to sail in such close proximity. (yikes!) I mean if the OP just can't make it work and will be miserable it looks like this reservation may fall under the CWC program. Cancel (but call to cancel & maybe they will find a solution because they don't want you to cancel) but if not cancel under CWC & call MEI STAT! Have them book another sailing for you linking the reservations. I am so sorry you are frustrated , can you turn it around? I wish for you an agreeable outcome. It sounds like it has the makings of a wonderful family trip. Good Luck! And as an aside, once on the ship you can change cabins to possibly make it easier, assigned on deck 10? You can move to daughters room on 7, she can move to deck 6, another family member can go to 10. Can you make that work? Below is me hiding when my family comes knocking on my cabin door!
  4. Ouch, but your lashes still look marvelous so there's that! I was shocked by the rocking, never felt that kind of movement on an Oasis class. We ordered cans of ginger ale for the cabin, and I had to resort to my patch. I have a love/hate relationship with that thing. I hope it calms down soon for you. When we sailed a few weeks ago the Aqua Show was canceled multiple times. They rescheduled it a lot to make sure we were able to see it. There was no diving but it did entertain. It was an aqua show near the water not in the water, but we really appreciated their efforts. I am enjoying following along:) Oh you are going to LOVE the seats at the ice show, the performers seem to actually engage you; best. seats. ever!
  5. Oh so sad to hear. If I'm not mistaken your suite comes with free movies, maybe get the girls some room service and a cool movie, have a little star loft cabin party for them. Get them refocused and help them put that experience behind them. I hope it gets better from here for your young lady. Positive thoughts being sent your way.
  6. @jay1021 this occurred ( additional OBC) with my previous sailing my one and only probably for a while Star class. I went to guest services and added additional gratuity for some crew members. It was notated on my final bill and I gave the individuals little notes so they knew. I took pics of name tags and wrote specifically who I wanted it to go to, I followed up and the recipient's did in fact say they would receive the additional funds.
  7. This, @Sharla is an amazing partner. Early on in this thread I didn't even want to react for fear she would think I had designs on firing her! She has always secured me a better rate, no matter who finds it she always makes it happen. I could not do what she does, she makes me feel like I'm her only concern & for that and her I am grateful. OMG she has more then one of me, she is a super hero in my book!
  8. There was grilled cheese in Johnny Rockets on the menu. We were sailing Oasis of the Seas.
  9. Yes, soak it in! You have waited so long, savor the experience & love on your family. I am following along & enjoying your story. No worries about typos etc. you are so authentic, I think it just adds to the amazing person you are. You go girl & enjoy
  10. On our last sailing there was bad weather & cancellations right up until boarding. They will be pending until everyone steps on the ship, and then while at dinner evening one your email will bing, thanks but your bid has been unsuccessful. I am now at 20 bids - zero (awards) or "ability to spend more for the upgrade". I bid, check obsessively for a hot minute and then forget about it. Once my bid was pending and the cabin was open (bid locked) but alas the email came at dinner. I always book what I am happy with, now the bidding is just for fun. Good Luck though, I hope you get it!
  11. We recommend @Sharla she is active here and very invested in your vacation. [email protected]
  12. I purchase the arcade every cruise. The purchase is made in cruise planner under my teens name, she knows it's a 50.00 limit and it's tethered to her sea pass card. She keeps track and asserts there is a clear way in the arcade to see your balance. Now. IF she goes over the charges are there on her seapass card, I keep an eye for this also. We pay 40.00 she gets 50.00 of play and if she goes over it's usually 2.00 to 5.00. She is 15 and enjoys the independence of it. Our last sailing she was with a friend so we did the 80.00/100.00 play package. She struggled to spend the credits on the Odyssey she didn't like that arcade. We always purchase before we sail. OMG I asked her how she finds out her balance. " I GO TO THE CASINO!" Oh brother I had no idea. Now I'm going to look into this arcade credit promotion above!
  13. @MaryCS62 have your TA or yourself if you self booked place you on a wait list for a JS for your second leg. Cabins open up all the time, especially around final payment date. Increase your chances of that B2B suite life! Good Luck!
  14. Here are the suite perks I believe that are tethered to a suite booked on any class NOT the Oasis or Quantum. As previously stated no genie but a very nice concierge.
  15. @MamaG We were on the Oasis March 13, 2022. I haven't felt motion like that since about 15 sailings ago when we first started cruising. Yes on the smaller ships I became acclimated but I never even felt motion on the Oasis class. I bring a little first aid bag with me every sailing & the first evening after dinner I turned green. I have sea sick patches prescribed & I usually wind up throwing them out, oh boy not this time. All I kept thinking was I NEVER felt movement on this class before. I am so glad I had those patches, no alcohol and nasty cotton mouth until probably Tuesday but I was so happy I wasn't arrogant in thinking I would never need them on the big ship. By Tuesday though things calmed down, yes aqua shows were cancelled but I'm just glad my sailing wasn't ruined by my pretty shade of green, albeit St Patricks Day was that week. Moral of this story better to have and not need then to need and not have, I was very uncomfortable for a hot second.
  16. This 100% My teen just earned her driver's permit. I explained how people drive emotionally. We just had this discussion about the internal anger walking around. Trying to be even kinder nowadays, the pain and anger is on full display everywhere. So sad,
  17. We have been on four sailings between June 2021 & now. We have enjoyed each and every one, and with the protocols in place we did abide. Everyone being mindful and hyper aware had us debarking all four sailings in full health, we loved our experiences and felt super safe. The reason why I inquire about CWC for Thanksgiving is our large group scenario, if not for them we will visit together landside, it's really no biggie. I looked forward to sharing my love for the sea but for this one our group can't abide by the mandates regarding the Vax in place now. Sail=abide, can't abide=no sail it's really just that simple. CWC will just make life easier for me when they come running to me for cancelation help, and for the time being I am sailing what I have planned but taking a break for a hot minute until I can get my pre cruise euphoria mojo back! Come on Royal, extend CWC, please? Make my life easier.
  18. With the consensus being probably going to be a protocol for the near future, they must be pushing out the CWC policy past 30 September 2022, no? Thoughts?
  19. That would be great, the stress and angst tethered to that test, it sucks the life out of my planning euphoria.
  20. Oh boy, Royal math! @Sharla is actively engaged right now with this same type of scenario for our June sailing. The price she and I have is different from Royals. I know she is working hard but one can only do so much when it comes to Royal accounting. We work really hard on our end to satisfy what is our responsibility, but I feel for you green, this is not even the first time with this. Moving forward I will never take FCC again. (Well unless it's heaped on me for no reason, lol!!) Good Luck!
  21. I'm following along, our Thanksgiving sailing has us sailing with family that are also unvaccinated. I'm getting nervous even for then. I used to think no way they will continue this, a negative test to step on the ship should suffice, no? I hope they relax this in some way shape or form, but I'm not holding my breath. I don't want to cancel but enough is enough, we won't go without our group if they are not welcomed by then.
  22. Nice! When we were on the Odyssey in December I purchased a case of Evian for the room. They said they ran out and provided Dasani instead, a few extra bottles for the "inconvenience" I quickly sent it back and asked for any type of spring water. Dasani taste is not at all pleasant to me. They did adjust the pricing and deliver in a blue can of Royal Spring water but I was upset they thought that was okay. They never found any Evian for us but by the end they took off the charge and the Royal Spring Water was better then I expected, it was weird at first the whole can thing but it was just fine surprisingly. With all of the sodium in the food and being on the ship I drink a lot of water and monitor my ankles daily, Dasani seems to add to the swelling in my opinion. A successful sailing is when my ankles are still ankles at the end.
  23. We are platinum on Disney, it was all we knew and we sailed her while our daughter was young, we watched her grow up on those ships. It was a special kind of expensive but it was also magical with a little one. We sailed both balcony and concierge & yes the prices were insane. Some friends were doing Royal for Thanksgiving and we were invited to join, after so many Disney voyages we signed on, Harmony of the Seas Owners Suite...we have not looked back. (Diamond at this point) Yes the soda is a small extra cost, pennies compared to the Disney fare. With our teen we find Royal is perfect, there are more similarities then differences and Royal crew is amazing, we found them to be better than Disney cast members most times. The specialty experiences are elevated, Disney is limited to the 2 special adult only restaurant spaces right now. I think Royal has a really great product and honestly I was surprised, I did not think it would feel so elevated & it's without being stuffy. I am looking forward to sailing the Disney Wish one day well into the future if I am blessed with grandbabies, because the look in their eyes is priceless. My money every time is on Royal though, so many more ships, itinerary's ship activities, just more well rounded. If you stay in a Grand Suite or above on Oasis class you get the wifi, Disney concierge gives you about 20 minutes a sailing. After that it costs $$$ While you don't rotate dining rooms, the menu rotates and honestly Wind Jammer is much better then Cabanas. Until they stop making 4 year olds Disney will be an expensive adventure for a family vacation BUT Royal I personally believe is heads & shoulders above, so much more quality bang for the buck. Oh and CoCo Cay crushes Castaway Cay, CRUSHES IT! Calling @Baked Alaska I know you can help here!
  24. We are on the Mariner in June, this post had me researching our visit. It seems more than not there are 2 ships in and our day the Symphony is there with us. I canceled the water park as it has been on the been there done that list & made the Beach Club purchase. It's our first time trying this area but a warm June day, crowded Island by 2 ships I believed that would yield the most joy for us, I'm so glad this thread had me research, I want to continue to love CoCo Cay!
  25. Welcome, everything you mentioned I believe is in the refreshment package, there is a soda package for just soda. Included in the fare is I believe ice tea, lemonade and water but not bottled water. I'm sure others will jump in to add. This is my understanding. Our comfy spot it the refreshment package and if we wish an adult beverage we just purchase it, but we like bottled water and don't enjoy the taste of their ice tea.
