  1. I'll try an explain, bear with me. On my cruise its 29.99 person, and that's per day correct? We are going on a 5 night cruise to Bermuda on Anthem so that should come out to 449.85 correct? Now when I add it to my cart it asks what I think is who this will be charged to, so it has my name, my wifes name and our 6 year old son. I then check my name and add to cart and it came out to 149.95. What am I missing? Am I supposed to check all our names? I am confused so thanks in advance for any help.

It's as easy as pulling up, hopping out and handing the luggage to the porter (hand over a tip if you'd like) and you're on your way. As others have stated, immediately following the luggage drop off is a nice parking garage. It's a few bucks more than an offsite option, but personally, the convenience is worth every cent. There will be traffic leaving the port (It is NJ after all), so the faster you can get to the car, the better :). Enjoy!

I agree with this, plus I personally wouldn't trust off site parking, but that's just me.

I rcvd my set sail pass with a 1pm embarkation time... I've never had to board that late but I've also never been on an oasis class ship we will be on the Allure of the Seas September 29th/Ft Lauderdale...should I just go ahead and be at the port at 10:30 and see if they'll let me on???

From what I understand RCI doesn't enforce arrival times or boarding times. You can show up any time you like, at least that's what I was told. You should be just fine like we will be just fine doing the same thing. I want on that ship early this time.

We will be there in Sept. as well and plan on arriving at the terminal by 10 a.m.  Wherever we sail from we always arrive at the port at around 10 a.m.  Those who wait to arrive late will usually be stressed out by the crowds and lines. So not the way to start a cruise.  Been there done that. Not any more.  And carrying off your luggage on disembarking is so great. Either in our personal vehicle or in a taxi and on the road in under an hour is the only way to travel.  Enough of that waiting for numbers to be called.

Sept. 21? Can't wait, we are all looking forward to Anthem. Then Oasis in May.

We are gonna shoot for 10:00-10:15 and see what happens. If we gotta wait a bit, we'll wait.

The terminal at Cape Liberty is a good one for early arrival. AN usually does a quick turnaround even though there will still be some people out front leaving if you do arrive at 1000. Terminal does run out of chairs sometimes but they do a pretty good job overall. Once onboard it's amazing to see how jacked up the traffic gets because of the poor planning on ingress/egress (maybe Royal IT helped plan this too ;>)

Awesome, thanks for the post. We have sailed here a bunch of times just never got their super early like we plan to this time and hopefully May also. I know the new terminal is quite efficient so that's good. First time we sailed Anthem we on the ship in about 20 minutes. Hey maybe for Oasis May 2020 we'll get "The key" if they offer it of course. If they offer that and the price is right I would get "the key".

Of course, it depends on the ship and the terminal, but in general, boarding usually starts around 10:30.  It can be a bit earlier or it can be a bit later.  A 10AM arrival might mean a short stay in a holding room but it won't be long.  If you arrive any earlier you might get stuck waiting outside for a while, which would not be fun.

I have had to wait out side a couple times... Most memorably in San Juan.  It gets a little chaotic with people coming out but not horrible.  By 10 the doors are open and you never have to wait in a security line... No one is there!  Them you have time to check in, shop for another lanyard (I have quite the collection lol) and enjoy knowing you will be on the ship in under an hour and your vacation has begun!  Jane

Thanks guys, We'll shoot for 10:15 or 10:30 right on the money. I'd like to be on the ship very early this time around just to see how it goes. We will be sailing Anthem from NJ if that makes any difference. In May 2020 we will be on Oasis from NJ.

  7. What is the real deal with arrival times or boarding times. We usually get to the port to board at noon but this time, in Sept on Anthem at Cape Liberty I want to get there at 10 AM exactly or right about. That is the beginning of boarding time right? Will we be able to board fairly quickly or early or will it just be chaos? Anybody else do this cause its something I would like to try? Are there usually a ton of people waiting or is it a less crowded time? Thanks for any help.

  8. This class of ship was announced quite a while ago but I haven't seen any new news on it? No artist renderings or anything? Any idea when we might see more concrete info on this class of ship? I originally read it was supposed to be bigger than Quantum class but smaller than Oasis class, but then I heard something about it being even bigger than Oasis class. Any info would be cool as I'm curious about this new class?

This is our first time using a travel agent, which I decided to do after listening to about 10 podcasts. ?. Well, lo and behold she called me earlier this week.  Our cruise went down almost $800!!!!  Such awesome news and reinforced to me to always use a travel agent for cruises in the future!

Awesome new! I just booked Oasis for next year with MEI that supports this website and could not be happier. They were and are excellent. I have no doubt they will take care of everything and any issue should they arise.

I, too, am afraid of flying which is why I booked a cruise in the first place. I wanted to be able to see the Bahamas without ever stepping foot onto a plane! And now I will for the first time ever in November ?

Same with me. I know flying is the safest way to travel but I watch "Air disasters" on The Smithsonian channel too much. I would feel claustrophobic and probably cause and incident. Best to stay on the ground, on steel wheels and rails [trains] or on the high seas [cruise ships].

I am fond of the area that will be near the entrance for the Abyss slide and over by the Flowriders.  It's high up and at the back of the ship.  I enjoyed sail away from Cozumel up there on Symphony.  The Aquatheater doesn't have a great view in the theater itself.

Thank you so much for the tip. Any tips are great tips. I only know what I know about Oasis class ships from YouTube videos so any first have info or knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

I know! We’re also trying hard to figure out a way to take advantage of her time here!

A big bonus is sailing through New York harbor past the Freedom Tower and southern tip of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island... finally cruising under the Verrazano Bridge!

Yes, its all gonna be great. We have plenty of time to find out the best place for sail away! I'm thinking maybe Acuatheater but more experienced Oasis passengers will correct us if its not?

Awesome! We're so jealous! You all will have an amazing time for sure!

Thank you, I'm so excited. I can't fly, I have a serious phobia or lets just say fear of flying so Oasis coming here to NJ is the only way I would be able to sail on an Oasis class ship. Plus RCI is putting 160 million bucks into her before she comes here. Oh man beyond excited!

  14. I just wanted to say thank you to Matt for pointing me to a great travel agent, MEI is just great to work with. I had a hell of a time finding a good TA and these guys were excellent, John and Melissa both were amazing. Booked Oasis from NJ to Florida/Bahamas May 10 2020. We booked a very unique room, Central Park interior view. We wanted to do a bit less expensive on this one and this was perfect. Great price and natural sun light from the window, plus peaceful views of Central Park. So I am super happy, gonna surprise my wife and our son tomorrow with the template tickets I saw on here. So again thank you Matt and I'm very excited about sailing Oasis.
