  1. It was not mandatory for adults over twelve as all were vax'd and so few children in comparison to other mainstream lines. My wish though would be that, if infected, to quarantine in our own cabin rather than having to move.
  2. Our check in information changed yesterday and Celebrity's website now requires indoor masking on their ships. Not unexpected but still a downer. I expect with the older crowd and fewer children that may be unvaccinated that the rules will not be too stringently applied, similar to reports from RC ships. We have no intention of changing plans now as our time was planned mainly outside anyway with so many sea days. Hopefully we will not see too many island cancelations as this ship has often been in the green for the CDC.
  3. Walgreens has IDNow sites there and schedule out a week in advance. Also in Ft Lauderdale the site Lab Doctors by the cruise terminal has walk in 15 min antigen tests. That's our plan for our trip in Jan, fly down 2 days early and test there.
  4. I have a sailing next month on Silhouette. I am wondering what some themed events may happen during the ten days that would require a special wardrobe. Like the NCL white party or pajama parties? Thanks in advance.
  5. Well, this doesn't bode well for the contest itself. On the website right now: Offline for maintenance This app is undergoing maintenance right now. Please check back later.
  6. I have a cruise set for Jan '22, finally. I recently saw drink menus and pricing for some premium drinks at $15.50. With the elevated package drink prices covered to $15, do the crew members actually charge the additional $.50 plus 9 for the tip? I'd have to believe that the cost of doing that in time and trouble would outweigh any monetary benefit. Plus the hassle of signing for 59 cents if I order said drinks. Anyone have insight on this?
  7. We were off the Mariner in April 2019, one week before the grand reopening. Most of the basic activities seemed open but we had little time to do everything. I had gotten a daybed on the far beach and they upgraded us to a first level cabana with food and wait service and all that. We spent most of the day floating and walking around. We did not sample but a fraction of the food and the pool bar was impossible to get to. People were walking out past the floating bar a 1/4 mile or more on the spit of sand. A great day that I would repeat in a heartbeat.
  8. I have this offer but it looks like it is tightly controlled. New bookings through a Amex linked website off the Celebrity page. I am going to try to make a payment on a new booking but not made through that page. I don't think it'll work. Please, anyone let us know if it worked for you.
  9. My pricing was a 4 perk choice at booking for the $245 a person upgrade.
  10. I am wondering if they have started bumping prices in anticipation of the change. I lift and shifted from Jan '21 to Jan '22 and price checking apples to apples the price has jumped from $2900 for two 4 perks package to more than $5100 for an all in veranda stateroom. Quite a change.
  11. Hello all, Yes I know this is a little off location but with many more readers here than in the Celebrity forums I thought I would have a better chance of answering a question here. I am scheduled after lift and shift for Jan 2022 sailing in Celeb Summit and I have one of the special balcony rooms #6053 that jig at the ship transition in the front. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with noise due to the extended exposure to the hallway and walls this room has. I am not worried about the common elevator areas but any bumps into the wall of our room and the location of the bed right on the other side of the exposed wall. I would hate to give up the extended balcony but will if there is more risk to disturbance in the room proper. Thanks.

  13. Hello all. I know a little off topic but I was booked with Celebrity on the Infinity for Mar 23. A week after the cancellation my planner purchase and some taxes were refunded then yesterday out of the blue the rest was fully refunded. I expected a FCC and be given a choice but I never saw that and did not request a refund.
  14. We are scheduled for Celebrity on Mar 23 and would like to go, knowing for us the risk is acceptable. What will likely sink us is the fact of someone else not physically able or another person that may break protocol and cause the ship to become the Flying Dutchman, cruising to no where, out of our control. That is really the deciding factor at this point, sorry to say.
  15. Just an aside from long ago. Our first cruise in 1997 our family of 4, mom, dad, 12 and 7 were upgraded from a lower oceanview to an upper balcony on Grandeur. Never since but started us on a pleasurable habit of cruising.
  16. This was just dropped in my email this AM. Standard staterooms changed from $14.50 to $15.50 per day, per guest. Concierge Class and AquaClass® staterooms changed from $15.00 to $16.00 per day, per guest. Suite Class accommodations changed from $18.00 to $19.00 per day, per guest. All starting Jan 6 so get them paid now.
  17. I have been on several RCL cruises, the largest ship in the Voyager class. I tried an NCL cruise on their (then new) Escape in 2017, right after the Miami hurricane. I was lured in by the freebies and dining options. We had a regular balcony room but Haven would be the very best they offer. However, I was disappointed with the ship layout and feeling of it compared to RCL. They took their largest Breakaway ship and added 2 more cabin decks without adding any public space and it always felt crowded and cramped. It felt like low ceilings, crowded bars and a very lower level of services provided throughout the ship. In the adult deck area we did not see a beverage server wandering around until middle of the second day and I was unimpressed by the beverage selection. Dining was great however. Additionally, we went to their new island in Belize and it was really nice but it was like any other port of call with all food and beverage and services supplied by outside people, not NCL so everything had to be paid for, unlike the RCL private islands. That was disappointing. Other ports are all the same for all the lines, of course.
  18. As for Miami, we took the Big Red Bus tours. They secure your luggage and you ride a hop on/hop off bus on two different routes around Miami. Then they transport to the airport. I guess it depends how much time you have to kill. We walked South Beach and watched them film Bab Boys 3 for awhile. Took bus go airport at 1pm for 330 flight.
  19. With the drinks packages on board does Celebrity have a soft drink cup and system similar to RCL, anytime self serve or will I have to wait at bars for service?
  20. We have also seen the Premier Pass package listed, which seems to be for couples. None of these packages seem to be of value when priced per person. I called and the CS rep said that the Pass package was per couple or room and the others are per person. Can anyone else confirm this? I just do not see the value.
  21. We cruised in April on Explorer and had a lte flight in MIA. We went on the Big Red Bus tour around Miami. We saw the latest Bad Boy movie filming and South Beach. They stored luggage and transported to both airports when we wanted. Check it out. Not too expensive.
