  1. Thanks so much for the info! We were on Anthem last year...that would explain why they had a food menu.
  2. I keep seeing list of the drink menus at the Globe and Atlas on Oasis... But I'm not finding a current food menu? Has anyone seen one somewhere I know there used to be one listed when Michael Schwartz was associated...but how about currently?
  3. I think sometimes there is complaining for the sake of complaining. If tourism leaves an area, there are complains that the local economy suffers. I don't believe there is no impact, but I also believe there is benefit, as well as, drawbacks.

  5. These are my sister and my huskies Katarina, Anoushka, and Zoya (affectionately called Kitty, Noushie, and Tweetie)
  6. We have 3 huskies and a lab. We love them dearly but they do not belong on a cruise. They would enjoy the attention, but our dogs are family not trained service animals. And unfortunately neither are most of the dogs you see. People take advantage of situations just because they want to take their pets with them everywhere.
  7. According to Matt's blog you are correct. The Lime and Coconut Bar is replacing the Sky and Mast bars...and UItimate Abyss is replacing Wipe Out Bar.
  8. Looks likes the smaller ships are not slated for the Royal Amplify program....
  9. We thought we would have to go to Florida in order to get on an Oasis class ship. We feel quite spoiled that it's coming to Bayonne ?
  10. for our first cruise last year, we went with a local travel agent. We too were quite disappointed with our service. They charged us an additional $20 which we found out later should not have happen ?every time we had a question the travel agent kept referring us to the 800 number with Royal Caribbeanwho then kept referring us back to our travel agent. What a mess! I don't know if you can change TAs but if you can...do it. Wished we did. For our second cruise we have booked through MEI.
  11. I checked through the menu Matt has listed for Chef's Table. I see that the same menu was used on a variety of different ships, but not all in the same year. Is there any rhyme or reason on what they serve for this activity?
  12. My sister's and my first cruise was May 2018 on a 5 day Anthem cruise to Bermuda. I have to say I wished it was longer so I could have done more ?
  13. It will be interesting to see how authentic it will be :)
  14. I would be thrilled if our Oct. 2020 on Oasis traded the Nassau stop for a second day at Cococay. I doubt we can do all we want on 1 visit.
  15. I would love to get "the world" as an extra dessert. It was my favorite thing at Wonderland.
  16. Our group is in the specialty dining camp. I have to say it is one of my favorite things :) But if you enjoy the MDR just as well, you may as well funnel the $$$ into something else or save it :)
  17. Reading your post, I have agree that you may need to research ships before you book next time. Royal Caribbean have ships to suit a variety of needs, you just need to select a good fit.
  18. Matt was asked this question on a broadcast a couple days ago. Here is some of the points he shared: The Key is ideal for those who are low in Crown & Anchor status or someone who isn't loyal to Royal, but would like "perks". If you would already plan on purchasing the internet package, would also take advantage of the priority seating at shows, the 1st day lunch, and access to special scheduling for activities like flowrider or rock climbing.(Because why pay for it and not utilize it...) If you reserve a stateroom that does not give you similar perks. All in all, you have to weigh the cost against those things and decide what value you would assign to them. My sister and I have been debating this as well for our 2020 cruise. The $400 would cover internet package and possibly a couple excursions, or specialty dining along with a trip to the spa. Hope you find your solution :) Here are links to Matt's and Twangster's review of the Key... https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2019/03/26/royal-caribbeans-the-key-worth-it https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2018/12/04/review-royal-caribbeans-the-key-vip-guest-experience
  19. My concern about the Key benefits being moved to the MDR is two fold....the 2 top tables are generally very close together and are not enjoyable to eat at. Also we have yet to get a meal that is hot in the MDR. I do not know if this is how the food is prepared for the MDR or the time it takes to get the dishes there. Regardless....even if the food is Chops food.....is the experience MDR?
  20. My sister and I are going on Oasis next year and I have every intention to maximize the UDP :) I love the idea of getting an extra dessert at another specialty restaurant or taking a snack back to my stateroom for a nice midnight snack.
  21. I found it was relatively easy to get my $$$ worth and most of my drinks were nonalcoholic. An average day I would start with a fresh squeeze OJ, which I drank while my sister was getting her specialty coffee made and then took a gourmet cocoa for the road. At breakfast I would have a soda. At trivia I drank 2 to 3 mocktails. Lunch....more soda. Afternoon....smoothie or soda or bottle water. As you can see it is not even 3 pm and I've drank 8-9 drinks. Our day generally started by 7 and we would get back to our cabin around 1AM. It really wasn't hard to hydrate in some way off and on all day. I never had more than 2 alcoholic drinks a day....and easily got my money's worth :)
  22. We booked through Michelle Cunningham :) We caught her right before she headed out of town. She booked my sister and myself...and my nephew and his wife :)
  23. We are new MEI customers....so glad to hear that MEI automatically checks the sale for savings for their customers :)
  24. We just booked a balcony for Oct. 4, 2020 on Oasis out of Bayonne. We selected RC neighborhood balcony. So until they tell us our room...we won't know whether it is above Central Park or above Boardwalk. It was too good of a sale to resist :) (Although my sister is hoping we get Central Park :))
  25. My sister like you isn't fond of Jamie's. We will be checking out Giovanni's next year on our cruise on Oasis :)
