For us, our favourite is the Radiance. Great solarium area with the Park Cafe in the adults pool deck area and overall connection to the sea, with lots of glass and great places to sit, both inside and outside to socialise, relax and watch the world pass by.  If we want a ship with lots to do, we love the Symphony.

No they have a very short expiration window.  I think it's 10 days or so.

My favorite ship is whatever ship I am on at the time. If not on a cruise, my favorite is the next one scheduled.
    My wife's favorite is Freedom.

Oasis class is the only class that offers the 11-11 suite drinks.  Perhaps HQ is trying to standardize the approach across the fleet.

Looks like the current standard is 11-11 but a internal debate is happening at corporate so they can guarantee it will be that way for any particular sailing.

    from the concierge-
Yes, for the moment we have the same beverage service  , beer, house  wine, water and sodas from 11:00 am till 11:00pm, Although, as this is a topic that has been on discussion for a while, we don’t promote it, as at any sailing Head office may change it. Reason why we CAN’T guaranty it for your cruise.“

Reply to the email and ask the suite concierge directly.  It would be interesting to hear what they say.

On the drive back from Hahndorf, go via the McLaren Vale and do a loop through the countryside. nice drive. Could do the Barossa Valley wine tour and/or combine it with McLaren Vale wineries, or Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf tour. The zoo has panda bears and the city is a nice walk. Tram to Gleneig for a nice seaside pub lunch. There also use to be 3 hour Murray river tours with lunch option.

    I haven’t looked at a hire car, good thinking 99 .
We will probably go to Hahndorf for a couple of beers,a tour would be good though.

I think the biggest problem our cruise industry has, is getting workers .
If you have any local cruises booked you will notice the lack of shore excursions.
I have a Ovation Cruise and it goes to Adelaide and cruise planner doesn’t have any excursions. I called Adelaide scenic tours which usually do the ship tours but the said they can’t get staff and at the moment won’t be doing any.
So I don’t know what will happen in Adelaide as there’s not much at the cruise terminal.

NO , I just come of P&O pacific explorer just out of sheer desperation.
What a bad experience, bad food ,the same every day unless you want to pay $20 for a pizza,$8 for a hot dog,$14 for a burger,$50 for a steak, ice cream on the pool deck $2 a scoop and the list goes on.

It was to replace Carnival Spirit, so if you take that into consideration it is not much different from original plans.

Yes it looks like they have. I think they've gone a bit conservative for now but as long as bookings return and the ships full up then i'm sure we'll get more options in the future. Also remember Virgin is bringing the new "Resilient Lady" next year as well as "Celebrity Edge" coming down under so these are positive signs of confidence in the region.
It would have been nice for Carnival to bring a newer ship down under like one of the Dream or Vista Class that would have been a good upgrade and a bit more competitive with other lines.

Wow, has the Australian Government really upset the cruise lines. This ex-Costa Carnival ship and the Royal's Enchantment are so small and old. I do not mind the Encroachment as have sailed Vision class before and we are booked on her, but there is no way I would even step onto the Luminosa, it is so old and a bad layout.

If we were sailing right now (which we aren't, obviously), I would be right there with you !  We have ALWAYS purchased both the UDP and the DBP but with the prices I am seeing, I would most definitely be skipping particularly the DBP and using my D+ vouchers and casino drinks.  We have always purchased the drinks package for convenience (as opposed to saving money) but convenience isn't worth THESE prices !

Splendor was pretty gaudy, but they tried to remove a lot of it in the refurb for Australia.

Quantum wins the battle for Brisbane hands down.

She will be brand new to Carnival Cruise Lines but she has been sailing around Europe and the Mediterranean for 13 years, under Carnival's Costa Cruise line brand. Originally Carnival was going to take the Costa Magic (a larger ship) and repurpose it into a Carnival branded ship but changed their minds and will now take(the somewhat smaller) Luminosa instead.  I guess this is Carnivals answer to Royal sending Quantum to Brisbane.
