  1. Interesting to hear this about Spectrum. I had no idea things were so strict yet there in Singapore. The reason not much is posted about it is most members are from North America, Australia, and Europe. Doesn't mean we are purposely ignoring what is happening in Singapore it just means we have no experience of it. So its great to have yourself post these updates and for us to hear your perspective and experience from Spectrum. Just curious, are land based protocols similar to that on the ship or is the ship being held to a completely different standard?
  2. You would normally do this on the Royal app. However, they have recently removed this requirement so I’m surprised you received an email asking you to do so
  3. In this day and age of plastic (and now cell phone or smart watch) payment most cashiers have a hard time figuring out cash change on a simple transaction never mind expecting them to factor an exchange rate in.
  4. The case is meaningless though. If the destinations that the cruise ships are sailing to have requirements the cruise lines need to enforce these requirements regardless of what florida's requirements are.
  5. Its not necassarily the homeport that dictates the protocols, but the places they visit. Florida already tried to get rid of the vax mandate from the cruise lines a year ago but the mandates are requirements of the places the cruise lines visit.
  6. 270 is an amazing space but it absolutely sucks as a theatre venue.
  7. It took very little persuasion actually. I just asked him to show me the verbiage detailing this and I would gladly admit I was wrong. I was very polite and ready to assume I had missed something. He didn't even look (pretty sure he knew it wasnt there lol) and corrected it. The coffee card specifically said X amount of specialty coffee's, nothing about espresso shots. I think its Royal pulling a little sneaky sneaky and most folks just accept it when they are told onboard it is per shot.
  8. On a recent Radiance sailing my wife purchased a coffee card. The folks at the coffee place tried to say it was one punch per shot. I reviewed the terms and conditions on my purchase because I didn't remember that being stated anywhere. The beverage manager agreed with me that it is not stated anywhere and reversed that. As a matter of a fact, when they employ that logic the cost of the coffe card is actually more expensive then just buying the coffee's individually. A refreshment package may be a better investment than a coffee card.
  9. This comment wins the message board today!!!!
  10. Disney's big announcement was that 5-11 year olds were now allowed to sail unvaxxed but everyone still needs a test................ So Royal is not in last place for restriction removal (maybe second last)
  11. Only Oasis class ships have the vitality cafe
  12. This is an interesting point. I wonder how much of their restrictions are due to the American 'sue first' mentality. This has to be the reason behind all the confusing and convoluted requirements. Its all for covering their ass.
  13. I agree with you to a point. I honestly don't care who is vaxxed and who is not but I do feel that people who are sick should not be cruising. A woman coughing up a lung wouldn't slow me down either, it would speed me up to get the hell away from her!
  14. I'm a little frustrated that as I still need a test for my 7 night Navigator cruise next month but whatever, I've done it for the last 5........
  15. I just checked in for Sept. 23 sailing this morning and the vax upload section was not there. It does however still say that 12 and over must be vaxxed.
  16. Next May is a long time away as far as protocols go. If you look backwards 9 months and where the industry was then is nothing like where it is now. NCL was 100% vaccinated (no one under the age of approved vaccines was allowed to sail) and they were testing everyone at the terminal on embarkation day. Royal had vax and unvax zones. Masks were required everywhere onboard. Hopefully by next May there will be zero restrictions and we will all be cruising in harmony.
  17. The upside down pinapple on the door didnt clue you in?
  18. Con - you pay more for your cruise because of single supplement Pro - you can do whatever you want whenever you want to without having to take some one else’s needs/desires into consideration
  19. We had to show our QR code in order to proceed to check in at the terminal. Those who didn’t have it complete were directed to the side to complete it before proceeding.
  20. It appears that Oasis class is still by far the favourite class. Quantum class surprised me with the poor showing. Will be interesting to see how Icon class is received.
  21. You will need to fill out the ArriveCAN app regardless of wether you leave the ship or not. You will need to do it before boarding the ship. The tourism boards in Canada are pushing the government to get rid of this useless requirement but as with all things government it will not happen quickly.
