  1. I'm guessing @coneyravenwould be your best resource for questions about Grandeur!
  2. Welcome to the boards! Are you talking about the one in May? It would be nice intro to Royal, I suspect. But be prepared for chilly weather — that’s very early in the Alaska season.
  3. Yes, best to order them sooner rather than later. No appointment needed, just log in. It has never taken me more than 90 seconds to connect to a proctor.
  4. The upcoming Ultimate World Cruise will include Alexandria and the Great Pyramid.
  5. NAAT is actually a PCR test. It is acceptable for sailing.
  6. Fill out the form on the homepage of this blog and someone from MEI will reach out to you.
  7. Actually best if you don’t move the device you’re using. The test items must remain in the camera view at all times after you open the box. Just prop your phone up against something that allows for access to the back camera as well as the front.
  8. This is very true, although we got single packs of Lays potato chips from room service two weeks ago on Enchanment. Hadn't seen that before.
  9. Welcome to the boards! Since stock changes on the ships with some regularity, I will often ask the bartender to make it with his/her favorite alcohol for that particular drink. They seem to enjoy the interaction.
  10. Welcome to the boards! I can’t remember off hand, but I think the email address is your account login, so you will need separate emails. I could be misremembering though… You do not have to use the app, but you do need both an eMed and Navica account. It is easy to use a phone. Just prop it up so both the back and front camera can be accessed and there is enough visible space on the table in front of you.
  11. Each adult needs their own account. The “adding” bit is for kids only.
  12. Don’t feel bad. Took me a while to wrap my brain around it!
  13. You don’t need the app, but you do need a Navica account in addition to eMed.
  14. BioCollections is a fantastic lab very near the airport (10 min cab ride). $75 per pcr test, I think.
  15. The train was super easy and not very expensive (maybe $15 per person?). However, if you're stopping in Rome just for a port stop, I'd recommend just using the Royal transportation excursion. That way you're more assured of returning to the ship on time. The city is actually quite a ways from the port, so the train takes more than an hour one way.
  16. If you're talking about vaccinated travelers, currently the protocol is two days prior so it will need to be Saturday at the earliest.
  17. Only problem with this option is that you can't select what kind of test you will receive, so you might get one that does not have the proctor option. Also, the proctoring costs $20 each, so not free.
  18. Personally I wouldn't do it. I like to take more than one excursion sometimes, but I always leave at least an hour between them. Often the return times are a bit "soft", especially in a big city with traffic. If they are mentally prepared for maybe missing the second, and can roll with it, then they can chance it. But it will be stressful.
  19. Welcome to the boards! 1. Free drinks are water, tea (hot and cold), coffee, lemonade, apple juice, milk, and sometimes other fruit-punch-type drinks. Yes, the tap water is good . 2. Yes, the multi-device plans get you a small (or sometimes not so small) discount. You can tell anyone you want what the login is. If you buy a 4-device plan, then 4 devices belonging to anyone can be logged in at once. If you want to switch people or devices, you just log out of one and into another. Note that a 5th device trying to log in may have the option of disconnecting one of the currently logged in devices, and you will not have a choice of which one -- just something to be aware of. 3. We took the train in Rome, so that might be something to consider. Others will probably have transfer suggestions. 4. Dress suggestions for the various nights are just that, suggestions. While you may see more people dressed up on a Med cruise than a Caribbean one, you will certainly see a full range of clothing options. If you can get your boys to wear a collared shirt they will certainly not be the worst dressed! 5. You will have a room key (your SeaPass card). I use my pocket or cell phone case, lots of people use lanyards. Do a search of the boards and you'll get many suggestions!
  20. As of April 1, Sweden has lifted all covid-related entry regulations. IATA - International Travel Document News (iatatravelcentre.com)
  21. I'll be cruising the Arctic in June. My plan is to test at the airport upon departure. (I'm sailing out of Amsterdam; I assume you'll be sailing from Copenhagen?) I'm hoping the testing requirements will change by June, but if not I have planned my flights to have plenty of time to test. For Copenhagen airport, here is the link to the testing site: Falck COVID-19 test centre (cph.dk)
  22. Current US regs require and antigen test 1 day prior, so I would suggest taking extra Binax tests with you and just doing them the night before. Otherwise, the Quick Swab listed first on your list is fine. With any luck testing will go away by this summer, but if not you're smart to research your options!
