The $49 per person price is when the 50% is already taken into consideration.  It's 50% off the second person at the onboard price point, which they don't explicitly state.

Ok thx. Sounds a bit shady but can't really complain after the "glitch". I've got plenty of time, will be watching for a better deal. thx!

  2. Tell me what I'm missing:

In our Cruise Planner the Deluxe Drinks Package price for today is $49 +50% off for second person.

    So I did the math.

    7 day cruise X $49=$343.

    50% of $343 is $171.50

    $343 + $171.50 = $514.50

So when I go to checkout they want $809.48

Their math and my math don't agree. Are they trying to recoup the recent "glitch"?

    ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

    Dear Guest,

    Well, this round’s on us.

On Monday, July 1st, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 1:30 AM EST, we posted incorrect pricing of $18 USD per person, per day, for Deluxe Beverage Packages. Given that we typically price these packages at about $55 USD per person, per day, it was the (messed up) deal of the century.

This was a BIG mistake! It might have been bad code, a random computer glitch — or maybe we just need to reinstate our intern typing test.

Any which way, it was our error, and we’ll own it. Enjoy your deep, deep discount — while we go drown our sorrows.

    Happy 4th of July!

    Sincerely,

Our local friends, who enjoy a loftier status than us, have received this email. We haven't received the email but the debit cleared the bank, the Cruise Planner still says it's a deal, and I'm still happy.

She was telling us about a Black Friday in July.....does anyone know anything about this?

  4. The ships get bigger and bigger, the customer service gets less and less. Kinda reminds me of Walmart.

I haven't had a problem in the last 24 hours but I did have a problem logging in a few days ago. The problem lasted a few hours then poof....everything ok. May have been site maintenance but I didn't see any notice for it. It was early morning hours.....

Still show we have a deal on Cruise Planner but no transaction showing in my bank account as yet. Watching with interest and a little amusement.

I've got to believe somewhere in Miami there is someone walking around with an extremely high pucker factor right now......

Just an update, still show a deal in Cruise Planner, debit showed up in my bank account, I guess at midnight.

Still watching with interest and amusement.  The person walking around with an extremely high pucker factor may be unemployed by now......

Do these packages ever go on sale besides the 20% off? I’m sailing Dec 2020, when should I start looking for deals?

Good on you for missing the fiasco last night.

The drinks package does go on sale, you just have to check your cruise planner regularly.....and watch this board!

I just noticed for my sailing it's usually 75.81 CAD a day and it was just posted for 23.94 a day (so we booked it). Will RC honour this if it was some sort of error on their end?  Has anyone ever encountered something like this before?

What ship? Our cruise (Christmas on Liberty) is $49.00. I'll camp on Cruise Planner!

Always use your sea pass as it adds up.  Win or lose it is 1 point for every $5 bet.  That doesn't mean you are spending all those $5 it means you've played through it.  Hubby wins and he loses same with daughter and I.  If you are a gambler it is a great way to cruise and gamble on the same money.

Thank you, many years of working hard and doing without has finally paid off a little for us and hopefully it will last.  We are one of those people who need the VOOM on a cruise because we are still working while on vacation.  We see it as a trade off.  Our life goal has been to travel more and we have instilled that in our kids.  We will sacrifice other things to travel but that is our choice.

Very good plan! Ours is similar.....years of tight budgets, doing without. Finally VA made it possible for us to move around and enjoy.....that's what we are doing!!
