  1. I’m very sorry. That wasn’t directed at you. It was directed at the Voyager is one the oldest/smallest and wouldn’t sail on her for free comment. I should have quoted the post. I hope your travel back home is smooth today.
  2. This is a really really great example of “to each their own”. My wife and I are having a great week on Voyager….in an Inside Cabin!!
  3. I’m interested to hear your experiences after the cruises.
  4. I’m a big fan of the lamb chops and lamb shank in the Main Dining Room. Our waiter on our second ever cruise suggested lamb to me so I tried it and loved it. We’d never buy it at home since it’s become so expensive.
  5. I’ve seen this talked about in the past but don’t remember if it was actually addressed. I asked a server in the Schooner Bar this week if I could get a Coke in a can. He said if I wanted a can it would depend on what drink package I had. The soda package gets you fountain soda in a cup. The other two packages will get you a can if you want. Since I have no drink package, I was able to get a can…for $4.13.
  6. The temps really have been very mild. We were in St John a couple days ago…. Pretty much zero visibility but comfortable. We did the tourist thing and walked to the falls. You couldn’t really see across the river. We almost rented a car and drove up to my wife’s parents in Nackawick. In hindsight we probably should have. We looked like drowned rats after the walk to the bridge.
  7. The weather has definitely caused the inside areas to be more crowded than we’ve experienced on Caribbean cruises. Today was the first decent day weather wise. I’m glad we didn’t spend the money for a balcony. On the flip side, pool chair hogs are non existent
  8. For those that are interested I tried to write the info down when they told us but missed some of the numbers. The screenshot comes from the Facebook group my wife is in
  9. I hope no one flames you for sharing your experiences. We’re currently hanging out in the Schooner Bar (on Voyager) taking advantage of the opportunity to use my iPad on my phones hotspot. I agree that embarkation was an absolute shit show. We had a 1030 check in time, arrived at 1020, and got into the line that was over halfway down the side of the building. Security reminded me of overworked TSA agents with all the yelling that they were doing. I had to take belt, jacket, watch, etc off while my wife going through a parallel line was allowed to keep it all on. Even the actual check in process at the desk was chaos. We have an early dinner seating on deck 5. Main Dining Rooms are classier than any other place we’ve been to, so we might not be the best judges. Our dinners have been nice, however we expect an hour plus for dinner. To be honest, I have no idea if that’s normal or not. We’re at a table with 10 places, but have had 6 at most, including us, with some different people a couple evenings. The past couple nights we ate with a couple who had My Time Dining but asked to eat early so they could make early shows. I agree that the venues fill up very quickly. We have learned to show up 30+ minutes early for shows. The ice show was definitely packed the first night of its showing We got there 40 minutes early and still ended up at the back. Trivia and events in the Schooner Bar/Star Lounge fill up quickly too, however we’ve been able to find seats by asking people who are sitting at tables with more seats available. The amount of people in them at any one time is pretty dynamic, so I’m not sure a full sign would work. We prefer Voyager and Freedom class ships, but we definitely notice the size difference between the two. While they are very similar, Voyager class is definitely narrower. On the flip side, we were on Oasis back in February and found it a bit too big for our likes. Oh… my wife found a USB port n the side of the phone in our cabin. I’m not sure if they work for charging since we bring a charging hub, but I never knew about it till this cruise. I’ve been told that the tv has one as well, but I haven’t verified its existence. Our room steward is also outstanding. This is his first contract, and he is easily one of the best we’ve had. I hope the rest of your cruise is enjoyable.
  10. The pictures show up correctly when I look at them on my phone. Let me know if they are screwed up and I’ll see what I can do to fix any issues.
  11. Well….scratch the above. My wife to the rescue….as in “just look at the app”. Makes perfect sense…I guess that’s why I didn’t think of it I’ll post the screen shots from my phone. Bear with me because I’m using cellular while we’re here in St John, and for some reason I’m bouncing in and out of 5G
  12. So I’ve been trying to remember all the offerings but failed. I even went down to see if there was a menu hanging around that I could take a picture of however no one seemed to be able to find one. Here’s what I remember Appetizers: Garlic Butter Scallops, Caesar Salad, and ? Main Course: Braised Beef Short Ribs, Spaghetti, and ? Dessert: Royal Cheesecake, Warm Chocolate Cookie with ice cream, and ? I’m sorry I can’t remember the third choices
  13. Hopefully things have changed, but we had a lot of difficulties using Lyft XL back in February in Miami. Four people with one piece of luggage each seemed to upset drivers. Between the ride from the airport to hotel, hotel to ship, and ship to airport we had four XL drivers refuse to take us because they said didn’t have room. Interesting side note….I drove for Lyft and Uber for a few years. My Toyota 4Runner wouldn’t qualify for XL trips…..but all the drivers that came for us, including the ones that actually took us, had vehicles the same size or smaller. I’m not sure if the vehicle standards were lowered because of a lack of drivers, but it was very frustrating. Especially when we were being yelled at in Spanish by one of the drivers. …..and yes, I requested XL rides, and XL rides are more expensive.
  14. Yea. It was on deck three. We were able to walk right in at 1145. When we left, there was quite the line.
  15. We boarded Voyager today and the MDR was open to everyone 1130-130 for lunch. I’m not sure if it’ll be a regular thing going forward, but the head waiter told me it is really reducing the congestion in the Windjammer. Small menu with three choices each for appetizer/main/dessert
  16. Wanted to give an update. While searching for beginner Italian podcasts, I came across Coffee Break Academy language lessons and have been listening to the free Italian ones. I am finding this style of learning easier for me than Babbel’s format. I’m seriously considering purchasing the Coffee Break premium lessons when we get back from our cruise next week. Babbel is still helpful, but the Coffee Break podcasts allow you to hear basic conversations using the words you just learned as well as teaching sentence structure, which I think will be very helpful when we find ourselves in either Venice or Bologna and need to get to Ravenna. There are other languages available besides Italian.
  17. We were on Oasis back in February with another couple. On the first night, we asked for a table together, and at that time made reservations (seated together) for the rest of the nights.
  18. 2024 is 25 years married for us….we already have an 8N and a separate 4N booked in Feb/Mar, but we want to see what comes out for the second half of the year
  19. Our travel agent is our advocate. A couple examples: Over the course of our very short cruising life, we’ve had three instances of cruises canceled by Royal/ships changed and done price protected moves to different ships. It was really nice to have her looking out for our best interest and making sure we didn’t end up with a higher final bill as well as keeping the same cabin category and location. ……then there was the whole pandemic thing that she got us through through without even a hiccup.
  20. I’m very glad you appreciate it
  21. I just asked my wife and her immediate response was “go to the shows”
