  1. I think this is one of a number of reasons Royal is considering a private island in that area, as well as somewhere in Asia...if the rumors are true....given some governments are slow or inactive in working to expand current ports, with cruise lines & commercial shipping for that matter. I think it will eventually happen; but, it may be a decade or more before it actually does...unless ongoing discussions are currently in the work, as we speak.
  2. Personally, Royal "should" allow alcoholic beverage cards, much like a gift card, that allows one to pre-purchase a dollar amount, in increments of $25 starting at $75-$350, $50 increments there after. You chose the amount, the amount is levied on the card plus the 18%. Card can be shared & has to purchased up to the end of the 2nd Day of cruise. Once limit has been made, alcohol is purchased on an individual basis, for the duration. Balance in non-refundable. Other packages(soda, refreshment, coffee cards) maintain its original offering & requirements & can be purchased separately, along with the alcoholic beverage card...if one choose to do so.
  3. As many pictures as you can post would be fantastic. We will be sailing her in April...looking forward to the up grades. We have Symphony coming up shortly; and, although Oasis will present many of the same venues we will experience on Symphony...Oasis holds a special spot, in our hearts, simply because, it was our 1st experience with Royal...oh, so long ago. We were NCL cruisers for the longest...still cruise them from time2time; but, cruise Royal alot more over the last decade than Norwegian. So yes, let the pics flow. ?
  4. Thanks dude...you take some amazing pics...big fan of your twilight pics. ?
  5. @twangsterhow long did you set your shutter to take that starry night shot? I will like to try a shot like that.
  6. Hmmm...the new ones(with straw) appear to hold more fl oz....can anyone verify the difference?
  7. @twangsterdo it include shakes on Oasis Class Ships?
  8. Most of us are rather disappointed with the addition of the Bionic Bar. However, I sincerely wish Royal would have swapped the Champagne bar to the Bamboo Room. I like the atmosphere & modern Tiki style...that I think bold well with the overall ambiance of the Promenade. As far as Hooked...I agree with WaaayTooo, that would be my new favorite specialty spot. Missed opportunity by Royal, imo.
  9. Do both passengers in a cabin still have to purchase the DBP or have that been modified?
  10. I hear ya...what's the point; but, the misses don't drink cocktails; she's a wine only drinker. Thanks for the info...appreciate it.
  11. Ok....I thought I saw Powerade either on Oasis or Anthem....don't quite remember which one. Any ball park guesstimate on average cost on non-alcohol cocktails?
  12. Quick question...are Powerade, Vitamin/Coconut Water, Evian, & Spa Smoothies included in the Refreshment Package??? ….and, what would anyone say the average price of Mocktails?...$4-6 dollars?
  13. Well one thing for sure...it would be wonderful news to truly hear Liberty ots, based on the West Coast.
  14. No re-imagined pool area as well...to go along with the no Lime & no Coconut pool bar. ?
  15. Hmmm....I honestly don't think Royal will...especially when the video is in play. Royal is doing what it should do...not comment until authority finish their investigation & reach a determination. The authorities are doing their do diligence, ensuring there wasn't anything more than an accident; as well as, fault/negligence.
  16. That's a great fun question...I have only stayed in a Boardwalk Balcony. On my first time sailing an Oasis Class ship, we made the mistake of booking a top deck(14) Boardwalk Balcony; and yes, you can hear the excited kids running back & forth above us...never did that again. Neitherless, we enjoy the BB simply because, we enjoy both the ambience of the Boardwalk, while taking in the glistering of the ocean, and in some cases, the port background...love it! One thing I have notice when on an Oasis Class...there appear to be more people, out enjoying their Boardwalk balconies more, than their Central Park counterpart...even at twilight or after dark. Central Park is so beautiful after dark...one of the places my wife & I enjoy hanging out at, at night, having a drink or two at Trellis...especially if the acoustic player is playing. Love it!
  17. Us "Left-Coasters" don't see it that way. That's a mind-set from East Coast Bias(those east of the Continental Divide).
  18. Wonder what may happen with Freedom...San Juan is its home port.
  19. The fact being, there are a number of 7-day cruises going to Coco Cay, Key West, Nassau, Falmouth, Belize, Roatan, Caymans, Cozumel, Costa Maya, & Yucatan...all out of Galveston, depending on pairing of itinerary. I would love to see more 8/6 day cruises to balance the 14 day rotation; so, the extra day on an 8-day, could maybe help squeeze in another port of call or facilitate longer port times or an overnight stay(at a Key West, at Caymans, at Coco Cay whenever their hotel resort goes up). Liberty ots has a number of 7-Day cruises to the 1st three itineraries I've mentioned. There are ways to logistically do it. With today's technologies, I would love to see maybe an artificial private island built at the border near South Padre Island...giving cruisers another port of destination & maybe the cruise industry can help fund the build up of Tampica, Mexico, as a destination hub; similar to Progreso, Medina, Mexico. Of course, I have forever spoken about creating a resort complex & new port in Corpus Christi as an added itinerary the West Caribbean could surely use.
