  1. I miss the Champagne Bar... i would love to see it come back. It was our go to spot for a pre-dinner cocktail
  2. i don't think you'll notice it at all. The Oasis class are so large you don't notice the movement much. Deck 6 is a low deck so that will help as well.
  3. pre pandemic they used to have an amazing race type game in St Martin that was a series of challenges that took you thru all the historic sites. Not sure if they still have it but it was fun.
  4. ultimate Mai Tai, Caribbean old fashioned from the schooner bar, rum old fashioned from Boleros
  5. Dunn river falls is fun but super crowded. We hired a private driver for the day and got there before the ship excursions. I'd also like to hear experience from the river tubing. That also looks fun.
  6. Gratuities on a cruise ship are not the same as tipping at a restaurant in the US. This is the primary source of income for these workers. Anyone who refuses to pay it is simply cheap and should stay home. If more people stop paying auto gratuities it will become harder for RCL to staff the ships and service will go down. Its that simple.
  7. it will be busy. If you are the first ship to disembark you wont have any problem finding chairs, might be harder for the last ship. i would seriously consider coco beach club if I were you. Probably won't see it for less than $160pp but its worth it in my opinion.
  8. we were on Indy twice and Mariner this past year. Sorento's was good on all 3 cruises. We didn't notice any change from pre pandemic Sorentos. Then we went on Celebrity Apex and discovered Celebrity takes pizza to another level!
  9. we loved our day in Falmouth and never felt unsafe. Like anywhere don't stray from the common tourist sights and you'll be fine. We hired a private driver for the day and went to the Falls then to Scothchies for a great Jamaican meal. I would go to Falmouth over Nassau in a second.
  10. Not only do they sell out but you will save $$ by buying ahead of time on the cruise planner.
  11. on 15 cruises we have never been turned away from a show. I wouldnt worry about booking. With a large group get there 30 minutes early and you should be fine.
  12. Pretty sure the Key a la carte breakfast on disembarkation day starts around 630. It's a nice breakfast usually in one of the specialty restaurants. Your only other option would be Windjammer or room service.
  13. Martini Bar is the place to be after dinner. Sunset bar is spectacular all the time.
  14. As mentioned above you will be able to make wifi calls with the upgraded wifi package. Also when you are at port you could turn your phone on and roam. I have verizon and its a flat rate of $10/day when not in the US
  15. we just got off a 6 night Apex sailing and the food was great. Service in the main dining rooms was a little suspect at times but no complaints about the food. 100x better than our summer Mariner cruise.
  16. i always just take a cheap corkscrew in my luggage. Never had a problem.
  17. depends what you want to do. Palm Beach is best for just hanging out. Probably a 20 minute cab from the Pier. Rent some chairs. Eat at either Nos Clubhuis at the Mariott or Pelican Pier. Both are great choices. There are lots of great snorkeling spots around the island but none are really great beaches for just hanging out. If you have any kids with you take a ride on the Jolly Pirate. Super fun, takes you to some nice snorkeling, open bar.
  18. I've gotten that before. Showed up an hour late as requested an got right on.
  19. if you can get the beach club for $89pp grab it. Its amazing! The service, food, atmosphere...all fantastic
  20. definitely. i always try to get the earliest boarding. Even if you have an earlier time, still use the key lines.
  21. you still select a boarding time at check in but a couple weeks before the cruise you will get an email that tells you you can board with the Key at (usually 11:30 after suite guests) or keep your scheduled time. When you get to the port there will be plenty of signs and dedicated lines for the Key. Priority Embarkation is one of the best Key perks.
  22. totally agree! 3 cruises in 2022 (Indy x 2) and Mariner and the food was not good in the Windjammer and MDR. On mariner my niece ordered Mac n Cheese on the kids menu and was served noodles with a half melted piece of kraft singles on top. Royal has taken a turn for the worse coming out of the pandemic.
  23. Things definitely have changed since COVID. Staffing is difficult and i don't fault Royal for that. lots of new people, trained fast and put to work before they would have been pre-COVID I'm sure. I do fault royal for stuffing these ships to more than max capacity. That just exacerbates the poor service situation. We have moved to Celebrity and I'm hopeful my experience in December will be better than our 3 Royal experiences in 2022. Hope your cruise gets better.
  24. Yeah our Canadian family don't visit much when the exchange rate is so bad.
