Looks like no cruise ships going out or stopping off there until September. As autonomy continues to dwindle there, it could be see that this was a directive that will also mean no ships in China till then ending any hope of that July 1st date https://onemileatatime.com/hong-kong-visitor-ban/?utm_campaign=coschedule&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=OneMileataTime&utm_content=Hong Kong Extends Visitor Ban By Three Months

I always go with soft sided luggage as if needed it’s more flexible for adding more to it. And even though it seems counter intuitive, good soft sided luggage is less likely to break with impact. Over the last five years my Travelpro Magna 2 suitcase has been on 800 flights and around the world and still looks brand new. the wire cutter did a comprehensive review a while back testing numerous suitcases. https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/travel/luggage/

If you ever want a good laugh check out that populations with the highest occurrence of STD’s. It’s the same population of nursing homes. -
Virgin Delays until 10/15/20
Andrew72681 replied to tonyfsu21's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
If anyone is a casino player, the virgin sailings must not be selling well as there’s lots of comp offers out there. -
I wonder if when cruising resumes we’ll start to see the fees go up. I could see them increasing them “due to increased cleaning measures”

I’d be concerned with anything on Odyssey this year. Many on the inaugural are Making backup plans.

What if COVID-19 Never Goes Away?
Andrew72681 replied to JLMoran's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
It’s everywhere. Our county the retirement homes account for the vast majority of COVID related death. -
Hopefully soon they’ll announce which ships and itineraries. Selling everything in August right now when it won’t be the case is kind of misleading.

P&O extends delays to cruises
Andrew72681 replied to Mike.s's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Not having any line controlled ports Europe is going to be a tougher one. You are also dropping guests into hugely populated areas in some places that are bigger problems for transmission, Barcelona for example. -
Hopefully they’ll use June and July to start laying out the improved programs.

Was watching ship tours of quantum and was really surprised with how little separation there is from the casino to the Esplanade from the looks of it. Has anyone on quantum ever noticed a problem with the smoke?
-
We found 2021 Alaska pricing to be pretty great. Especially for suites.
-
Just added an Alaska Cruise. Will be our first time up there. Quantum of the Seas 07/12/21

Hopefully it will be like other places where utilizing enhanced techniques leads to a positive experience for guests and a negative experience for viruses ? would totally stink if there’s problems after the July restart in China as that will delay an August start here.

Andrew72681 replied to ryman1980's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Big time. With the benefits I listed above, I make money off the card, especially making numerous large purchases a year and they offer 50% more points on purchases over 5k. -
AMEX Platinum Cruise Privileges Program
Andrew72681 replied to ryman1980's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
You don’t get the card for a cruise discount. I keep the business version which is 595$ a year because it comes with An annual Delta Sky Club Membership which by itself is 549. A priority pass membership which is 99 Centurion Lounge Access which I value at 100$ annually 200$ in Dell business credits 200$ airline fee credit free global entry every five years (95$) great trip delay and cancellation coverage Access to their fine hotels benefits (for example in New Orleans the Waldorf Astoria was 179 a night and came with free breakfast, a suite upgrade, and 100 property credit per night and more -
There’s numerous articles and topics on NextCruise, I think best summed up I believe @Matt’s philosophy is book refundable now as the pricing may go up before you get onboard. Then if the OBC is good you can rebook onboard.

I’m there with you. Just once would like to be going over the bay bridge at the same time grandeur is going underneath.
-
See, now on grandeur I’d be much more worried about everything disappearing? let’s hope they don’t retire her early.

I’m guessing it’s just a glitch. Not seeing it for my November cruise on Oasis as well.
