  1. I agree, and it would be nice if they had duplicate capabilities. Some things are just easier with a big screen and keyboard.
  2. @CrimsonCruiser I love those. Didn't even think about room service. Maybe even drink service while at the pool or in the casino. DH is 6'4" so exact seat reservations would be great - it's hard to get those coveted aisle seats!
  3. I love being able to look at the menus and activities on the app for current sailings which helps me get in cruise planning mode. However, there are some things that I would really like to see added. 1. All remaining ships need to be added. I thought this was in the works pre-covid, and I'm hoping this will be done as they come online. (Specifically Radiance for our June Alaska cruise) 2. A countdown to cruise day like on the cruise planner list of my cruises. 3. A link to photos or a 360 video on the deck plans of the public spaces. 4. Maybe some sort of capacity meter when the sailing is actually taking place - like how full is the Windjammer? Not sure that is really practical, but I'm dreaming here. If you could have a feature added, what would it be?
  4. After walking to the fort in Old San Juan on a 95 degree day...a glass of water at El Covento . The margarita that followed was pretty good too.
  5. We tipped and bought souvenirs in the port area with US dollars in Roatan. We didn't shop outside the area.
  6. Fully vaccinated can explore the ports on their own. If you are traveling with unvaccinated children, you must take a Royal Caribbean excursion if you want to all get off the ship. Are you stopping in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan? What sort of things do you enjoy - relax on the beach, exploring, adventure?
  7. A Cruise Compass on a FB group shows they had open skate on Liberty in November.
  8. We take ours off the ship for this reason. If something happens, and we need to fly home for whatever reason, I think I would like to get there without delay. I don't remember which island (St. Maarten or St. Thomas), but we were asked for our passports before we were let back into the cruise port area on our first cruise. I remember the customs officer made a joke that he was going to have to detain us because we hadn't signed them.
  9. Sorry, forget what I said - that's what would happen for non-refundable. I should really have a sip of coffee this morning. For refundable deposit the extra amount is added to the cruise fare like I said, but you can cancel and not lose that money (subject to the cancelation schedule). If you do take the cruise, you paid the extra amount "just in case" you needed to cancel.
  10. The amount is added directly to the cruise fare, not a separate line item. If you cancel, you would lose the amount of your deposit unless there is something else in play like Cruise with Confidence which allows the deposit to move to another booking, be issues as a FCC or whatever (if anything) is in that program.
  11. No, it doesn't have anything to do with the actual debarkation process. It has to do with getting off the ship a port stop early (or latr). For example, let's say you book a cruise from Miami that goes to CocoCay, St. Thomas, and San Juan then returns to Miami (obviously making this up here). Downlining would be arranging with Royal ahead of time to disembark in San Juan because you wanted a land vacation there instead of completing the cruise back to Miami as scheduled.
  12. @PG Cruiser I want to say they offered toppings on Enchantment back in Feb 2020, but I don't remember this many. Just the sprinkles and whipped cream maybe? I'll ask my kids.
  13. @JLMoran DH just taught the kids how to play so he can get his fix.
  14. My have my son (not yet a teen) wear nice jeans or khakis and a polo on casual nights. He wears the same pair every night and changes into shorts after dinner. Black pants dress shirt and tie for formal nights. We're dressier than some, not as dressy as others.
  15. There is no lobster night on shorter sailings. I know the 5 night cruises do not get them. It looks the app updated like you thought. It's listed on day 5.
  16. Depends on the bartender. Some have just scanned our card and no receipt, others have given us the receipt to sign where the balance is $0 which gives us the chance to leave a tip.
  17. I wouldn't say you gave up your privacy to the deck below. Even if the balcony below was flush with yours, they could lean over the rail and look up to see you if you are at the rail. If anything, the balcony below has less privacy because they stick out and you'll be looking out and down at the water. That said, no balcony has 100% privacy. Your next door neighbors on the same deck can lean a bit and take a look onto your balcony. So I wouldn't do anything out there you wouldn't want a stranger to see.
  18. Prior to the shutdown the WJ would offer several dishes that were being served in the MDR that night. Is this still the case (on the sailings where there open for dinner anyway)? Or have the selections been reduced?
  19. @Jim D I was watching a ship tour and one of the boards with the cards I mentioned popped into view. Just so you know what it looks like.
  20. I forgot all about the new program. I feel like I need to make a "different ship - different policy" pocket guide or something.
  21. 12 and up kids participate in the teen clubs. I think the age groups there are 12-14 and 15-17, but they may combine the groups at times just like the younger kids sometimes do.
