  1. Congratulations! I have heard that they give people a choice.
  2. Mine are being weird. I have bids on a Grand Loft, an Owner's Loft, and a Royal Loft. Yesterday the Owner's and Royal Lofts showed "expired" and the Grand remained "pending". Today the Owner's and Royal Loft show "pending" and the Grand Loft shows "Upgrade Unavailable". Color me confused.
  3. Vaccinated people can, and do, still catch Covid, and everyone over the age of 12 is vaccinated on the ships, so vaccinated people are being isolated. However, the percentage on land far exceed those on the ships.
  4. If you are sailing before April 30, 2022, you are covered by Royal Caribbean if you test positive up to 14 days prior to sailing. Be sure to read all of the information in the Healthy Sail Protocols that they send you prior to cruising. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-i-test-positive-for-sars-cov-2-what-is-your-refund-policy-and-costs-covered
  5. Ignore the percent off, it's meaningless. The UDP is always less money if you buy it ahead of the time on the Cruise Planner. If you want it, buy it now (before it sells out, and it often does), and then just watch for price drops (actual price drops, not % - just look at the bottom-line price). Typically you'll find it at $25-29 per person per day plus gratuities.
  6. Welcome to the forums! Unvaccinated passengers need a PCR test. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-travel-with-an-unvaccinated-kid-under-12-how-will-our-experience-be
  7. I'm sure people will chime in, however you could start here! https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/forum/11-live-blogs/
  8. I believe it has to be a hard copy, but a printed medical record may serve as a hard copy? I'd jump on Facebook or Twitter messenger and send Royal Caribbean a direct message to see what they say (that way you have an actual record of what they tell you, as opposed to calling).
  9. You are not obligated to pay additional gratuity. Some do anyway.
  10. If you've booked the cruise already you can check your Cruise Planner. If the package isn't available yet, it will be soon. I've booked DBPs more than a year ahead of time. Nobody will know what the exact price is for your sailing unless they've booked the same sailing, and then they'd just know what you know.
  11. I know someone addressed these at some point, but I just can't find it. I've reserved one for the 29th sailing - does anyone know if a concierge or Genie (depending on where we end up, if we get super-duper lucky) can snag a particular one? I'm big on them if they are on the pool deck - not so much if it's on the running track on Deck 15.
  12. Ovation usually spends the winter (our winter) sailing out of Australia, but they canceled those sailings so she's just been hanging out on the West Coast. I don't believe it means anything with regards to your sailing.
  13. Correct, you are only charged for the first two people in the room and the 3rd would not owe anything. The minimum cost for an upgrade really varies. I've seen the minimum of $50 per person (lower category) and as high as $1500 per person (suites).
  14. You can test positive for covid for months using a PCR test because they will pick up viral debris. Use a rapid antigen test instead, as they generally only pick up active infections.
  15. I think @twangster is on the current 8-day sailing and I'm sure he'll report, however what happens on one sailing probably has little to do with another. From what I understand, it has more to do with the on-board covid numbers the ship reports to the port, then the port decides if they will allow docking. Aruba and Curacao have allowed some ships to dock and not others. I will be on the 8-day sailing on the 29th.
  16. I meant that I hadn't heard anything on my bid (I'm on the same sailing as SPS, got an email and bid quite a while ago). No issue here.
  17. I would be shocked if they were proctored. They don't have to be for the general population and that adds additional, and unnecessary, cost.
  18. Read the responses above for why you shouldn't take this as something to worry about.
  19. I'm finding that dealing with EMed (over the phone or email) is an absolute nightmare. I'm sure I'll never see the $184 refund for my Dec 31 order that never arrived.
  20. Yep, I wanted some back ups in case I had issues. I also made a back up appointment at the airport (at $99 each, so I hope to cancel them, but I have it locked in just in case).
  21. But when you're obsessive (like I am), you check to see which bids are still pending, or expired, etc.
  22. That will be such a FUN surprise! I'm so happy for you guys!!!!
