  1. I logged into my cruise planner and this was there - clearly a website glitch, but it made me giggle. (Man, they're really pushing Coco Cay! Ha)
  2. Alrighty then .... Will plan to swim to shore the week of Feb 4th...
  3. Any updates? How was your cruise? I pulled this off of Cruise Critic's website, which may address the "fish and chips" comment above?: " Michael's Genuine Pub (Deck 4); a la carte pricing: This British-style pub is created in partnership with Miami celebrity chef Michael Schwartz. If you're feeling hungry there are all sorts of nibbles, snack items and more substantial pub fare, such as a jar of pickled vegetables or devilled eggs for US$3 (A$3.91) each, or chips with onion dip, pork scratchings or chicken wings for US$5 (A$6.52). For bigger appetites choose from bangers and mash, fish and chips, or roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, all priced at US$12.50 ($16.30), and followed by sweets including sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter pie-in-a-jar for US$4 (A$5.22). Opening hours are 11 am to 1 am. "
  4. Twangster did, and did a review on his experience: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2018/12/04/review-royal-caribbeans-the-key-vip-guest-experience
  5. Haha, you’re such a problem solver! If only my job would allow. ?
  6. I did find this on https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Brilliance-of-the-Seas
  7. I assume there is an 18% service charge added to the base price of The Key?
  8. When I sailed in 2004 we were Starboard, which was great. We were docked in Quebec City for 2 nights and our cabin faced the beautiful city. But Royal no longer runs round trip to Quebec.
  9. I could never live anywhere that I couldn't have my hounds! I love cruising, but I start to miss them too much. Awesome idea for some people though!
  10. Thanks! I work overnights, so i don’t think it will bothr me much.
  11. I was told that the rooms that are new on Mariner are the rooms on deck 12 forward surrounding the spa - they are the Spacious Panoramic Oceanview rooms. I booked a Promenade interior room on the Mariner. My logic was that I wouldn't feel quite as boxed in due to the window, even though it doesn't look outside. I'm used to having a balcony, so this will be different for me. I hope your mom has a fabulous time!!!
  12. I'm hoping that Royal offer round trip from the east coast to Quebec in 2020. We did one years ago, and it was great. Celebrity is offering them in 2020 (released this morning), but they cut into my budget more than I like.
  13. It's offered on my Mariner cruise, Feb 4. I purchased a deluxe drink package with internet during the Black Friday sale, so if I did The Key, I could just rebook the drink package (at a higher rate, lol).
  14. I thought they had laser tag on Mariner. I've seen blogs of people mentioning it, and read it somewhere else.
  15. I'm waiting for Canada/New England and Bermuda cruises to be posted. I'm hoping today!
  16. If you book as a.solo during the "2nd guest 60%" promo, do you still get double points? The single rate was about $425, and I paid a little over $1000 (no idea how that accommodated the 60% off...can't find an invoice to save my life).
  17. It's almost as if they had a 'bot' read the questions and reply to them with canned answers based on key words it read in your questions.
  18. I'm seriously considering this one at Coco Cay as well! Please let us know how it is - when are you cruising?
  19. We're considering Celebrity simply based on a very intriguing itinerary. If we could get a similar one on Royal, I'd prefer it, simply based on the fact that we're both pretty casual people. But these have been interesting tips. I had NO idea that someone traveling solo on Royal would get double points (I'm traveling solo in Feb, so I guess I'll see for myself!).
  20. I did check, and they are also signed up for MyTime. It's only 4 people between them and us, so we all made reservations for the same time, and I'll figure out getting seated together later. It sounds like it shouldn't be a problem.
