  1. Dog shows. But they are so much work that it's difficult to actually call them a vacation. I just have to take vacation time for them.
  2. Hi Adi - welcome to the forum! We're definitely a gentle group here. YES! Your drink package is definitely honored on Coco Cay. Have a fabulous cruise!
  3. Oh how wonderful! One of my friends lived in Homer during the summer for years and led tours - I regret that I never got up there to spend time with him when he was still doing that. Homer is definitely still on my bucket list of places to visit!
  4. No, I'm on the June 21st sailing. I booked Ripcord as well. I guess I just assumed that North Star was, but I've never sailed on Quantum Class, so I'm not sure now.
  5. While it's not impossible (we see them in Minnesota), the best months for catching them are Sept through March. There's so little "nighttime" in late May/June (which is why I like to go up there during the summer solstice). Enjoy! I'll be on the June 21st sailing.
  6. I'm hoping reservations for North Star on Ovation show up soon!
  7. When I disembarked in Miami in Feb I really had no idea what to do, as it had been so long since I'd been on any cruise. I only had one carry on, there was nobody directing anyone where to go, and, for some reason, I happened to just get off at a time where there was nobody in front of me to follow. I just sort of followed my instincts and walked in the direction that made sense. Eventually, I saw the 2 employees standing near this contraption - they motioned me over, signaled to me to take off my hat and look at it, and then waved me off. They seriously said no words to me, I didn't even know what they were doing! I kept looking for the customs agent to show my passport to, so I just kept wandering toward the exit doors. Since I didn't see anyone, I walked out of the doors, half expecting some official to tackle me on the way out for not going through customs. It wasn't until I'd read the message boards later that I realized what had happened. The entire confusing (to me) process took less than 5 minutes from the gangway to curb. Terminal A has permanently spoiled me forever.
  8. I also found this on "the other" site: https://www.cruisecritic.com/ports/newport.cfm?ID=474
  9. It doesn't appear that they do. https://www.tourepublic.com/blog/cuban-currency/#bring-currency
  10. "Choose One"? Omg, I'd have such a hard time choosing since it all sounds (and looks) flippin' fabulous!!! ??
  11. Food can be purchased there. I opted not to eat because nothing really appealed to me that day (I left the island by on the first boat out and I typically don't eat until 3 or 4pm anyway). I didn't think prices were unreasonable, but I couldn't give you an actual number because my memory is just crap. The hammocks seemed to be available to everyone - nobody was monitoring that part of the beach looking for wristbands or anything, so I'm sure you can use them no matter what encounter you book there.
  12. On the RCBlog Dining page on FB someone said this is a change made by the vending machine suppliers and not really Royal. Either way, I have no idea what to do with the one I have from Feb, and collecting 2-3 a year is just going to be a pain, so I really don't care which kind I throw away.
  13. Ha, not a problem, it's usually me who forgets to post links! I was just catching up on the forum/website and happened to have just read it.

  15. Miami is actually cheaper than FLL for me to fly into for some reason. I've been checking both, and I'm sure it's subject to change.
  16. Who knew you were so influential? They are all gone from mine as well!
  17. The ER didn't have enough numbers on its calculator for that one. They're still working on it.
  18. They were pretty confused about the whole program back in Feb. It was pretty chaotic. Still, I'd do it again on the right cruise.
  19. We have Center Ice - I always choose the non-LA feed because I just want to punch him every time he opens his mouth.
  20. Jim Fox (LA Kings color commentator) <--- worse than any of them
  21. They were never in it this year to begin with. I"m much more likely to watch the coastal teams than our team here, since the Wild's upper management has never had any interest in building a winning team (Why should they? The arena has been selling past capacity since the team began, and there's a wait list of 5 years for season tickets. Why should they bother putting effort or money into them?). I'm looking forward to Seattle's team starting, since we'll be moving out that way anyway.
  22. On our Canada/NE cruise on the Jewel in 2004 we were on the younger end of the average age of the non-crew ship inhabitants. We were selected to be on stage for the "Love and Marriage" game. I ended up giving a fairly risque answer to one of the questions during the game. I don't recall if we won the game or not. What I DO recall was the realization the next day that I had gained instant ship fame because they kept playing the recording of the game over and over and over on the TV in everyone's staterooms the rest of the week. The entire rest of the cruise I kept getting winked at, side-eyed, slapped on the back, and high-fived everywhere on the ship. "Hey, you're the girl from the "Love and Marriage Show ....". (To reflect back on that cruise, and my earlier response to this post, at least they didn't have footage of my pathetic attempt at ping pong on the ship. As it is my husband won't ever let me forget that fiasco).
