  1. Our full day on Anthem in March is $105 CAD. That's quite pricey for a family of four.
  2. Wow...and I thought I was organized. Love your packing prep! Only a few days and you'll be on Anthem!
  3. Our dining and drinks are open for our sailings up to Aug 2020 . Mar 2021 is not open yet.
  4. On our first cruise with our kids, for some reason I forgot to pack my younger one socks. (And at that age, she wore shoes & socks vs flip flops or sandals). The cruise was actually Disney so she ended up coming home with lots of Mickey Mouse socks.
  5. We don't get internet so our phones stay in the stateroom safe (hopefully this won't have to change going forward as they seem to be putting cruise compass and planner on app). I'm a camera person though, so unless doing an activity where you can't have anything on your such as Laser Tag or Abyss, I wear a waterproof waist pouch. It carries the sea pass, camera, small sunscreen and cruise compass and this is usually on me. If going in the pool, then i'll just wrap the pouch in or under my towel. (Note although it is waterproof, I don't actually wear it in the water as it's a bit loose on my waist). When going to a beach, we bought a lightweight bag. It holds our towels, sunscreen, books, inflatable floats for the kids, etc. DH isn't an ocean swimmer so it works out and he usually sits with the bag on a lounge chair (and his book) if I go in the water with our kids. Of if by the pool at the beach/resort, we'll generally take turns going in the water. I also use my waist pouch for cards, money, etc (which goes in the bag if I go in the water) Would love for them to extend the wow bands as it's a great idea to hold your sea pass when you need nothing else. Great for kids too.
  6. No problem. Thanks for getting back to me. Ah ok...inside Sugar Beach. ?
  7. @Skid , thanks so much. Our cruise was actually this past March so already done. The issue above is that we booked comedy show when entries opened up in cruise planner....then later found out night and time of Quest....then when went to change comedy show to say, one of the earlier times you stated or a different night, they were all booked up. So in the end...we went to the comedy show and sat by the side door. We saw the first comedian, then did an escape during the second comedian's act near the end. Maybe he made jokes, but we had left at that point...lol. So, we did catch Quest no problem....but it did mean that we had to skip Battle of the Sexes that ended up showing right before Quest. Oh well...you can never fit in every single thing on Symphony and overall, it worked out well.
  8. It's the full Broadway show. I'm a huge fan of Mamma Mia and have seen it many times. Allure performance was really good.
  9. Looking forward to your review. We'll be on Anthem for the first time next year.
  10. Thanks. I tried it in FireFox and same result where the excursion is not showing (but can see price in order history as trick shown here). Yeah...most likely IT bug. I'm actually a software developer/designer and it amazes me all the bugs.
  11. What ship? Will your kids have phones? Will you get internet? Reason I'm asking is they are testing free texting on some ships (I forget which one, but I'm sure someone here remembers). Or if you all have phones and internet, then you're good. For us, we don't get internet and our last cruise on Symphony doesn't have the free texting. However, our kids were 13 and 9 and it was the first time we let them go on their own for periods of time. They stuck together and we would just meet back in our stateroom at a specific time. PS - I'm like you and was nervous about it too.
  12. Thank you! I see what you mean as that works. Question...it is actually a bit cheaper than our booked price. If we cancel our current booking, will the Full Day then show in excursions? Or is it better to call Royal and have them do it? I'm worried we won't be able to re-book. PS - Never mind...we tried it, and it does show after we cancel. Sneaky Royal! Thanks so much for the tip.
  13. Skid, thank you for the amazing review and for the comparison to Voyager class. We've been on Mariner which I'm guessing is similar to Adventure (which we have later this year). The bridge along the promenade is fun and great for everyone to see. I agree with you about Symphony...from entertainment (wow!) to art to dining choices..it really is something. Great to hear you had such great service on Symphony. Us too..no issues and our cabin stewart and MDR always had a smile on their faces. We never had your CD as he was off that week (we had Simeon who I think is usually one of the comedians). Sounds like your CD was pretty good though, especially with the shows. Probably it's just the size of the ship not seeing them around as much as we found the same on Allure and Symphony. Great review...sounds like you had a great cruise.
  14. twangster what amazing photos!. All I can saw (or write) is wow! PS- Not sure your profession, but if you are not a photographer, you sure could be.
  15. I guess Alaska cruises are not outside swimming cruises either (but of course beautiful views!). It's just what you want in a cruise.
  16. We're trying anthem in March for first time. We're just going in with different mentality knowing that it's not going to be a sunny warm holiday and we'll enjoy the ship. Seems like tons of indoor stuff to do and I know our kids will love the sea Plex.
  17. Did you notice any non-meat options? E.g. veggie or fish sandwich?
  18. We have a Full Day CoCO Cay waterpark excursion booked on our Navigator cruise. I know that they have discontinued the Half Day, but strangely, the Full Day is also not showing as being offered (just a zipline excursion). Anyone know why the Full Day no longer shows? Does it mean that the excursion is sold out? Or do they remove them once booked to stop people being able to check for price drops? Same thing for our Anthem cruise in March.
  19. We purchased half day for our March cruise awhile ago, but it seems like it is no longer offered. It's still listed in our calendar as Half Day. Hopefully we luck out and get to use it as a full day.
  20. We liked Holiday Inn Express as well as it's a short walk to Harbor Shops and hotel was perfectly nice. We got it for a pretty good price last December but we're finding that it's quite pricey for this Dec so we booked elsewhere (but still less than Embassy or Hyatt). Too bad as we were happy with it.
  21. Thought I heard that you need to drink about 5-6 drinks a day to be worth it??? If $47 work out to 2 drinks a day then that's not much at all (guessing that calculation is ontop of soda, fancy coffees, water, etc). Our Dec cruise is $62 CAD which converts to $46 or $47 USD. I can certainly drink 2 a day as I'll have wine with dinner and then another fun drink...but not much more. (For me, I'm not a soda or juice drinker but DH drinks lots of sofa) I also have the same thoughts as @GA Cruiser in that I forget what hunger is on a cruise as I'm always full with the rich food and more amounts than usual. I'd probably be one to feel like I need to break even and so would order but drinks are filling (as I'm not a straight up scotch or liquor drinker). But I do get what others are saying in that it would be nice to be able to order drinks without thinking about it. Maybe if it drops more but guess that's highly unlikely.
  22. Cool...where is the life sized popsicle? Is that inside Sugar Beach? Missed that one.
  23. No changes to my 5 cruises. My next one is Navigator and this one was labelled with Memorial Day sales. Our CoCo Cay booked excursion of the Full Day Waterpark is not showing at all (not sure why it disappeared) . Some excursions have sales listed and think zipline is a good price, but hard to tell. No discounts for us.
