  1. awesome graphic saving it now.
  2. My Son and Daughter-In-Law came off a Oasis of the Seas Cruise a couple of weeks ago and they both commented on the pizza as being pretty good.
  3. I wasn't surprised that the lawsuit came I am only surprised that they are only asking 1 Million ?
  4. It's been like that for a week. I thought it was a mistake but now I beginning to wonder if its purposeful.
  5. I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Miami Brickell Downtown last time and found it a nice place to stay and around a lot of restaurants and nightlife. It was about 5 miles to the port and overall not too expensive. i think we paid around $160. The rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. Took a shuttle from the hotel the next morning and was at the port by 1030 and on the ship by 1100. Not too bad at all.
  6. I have done the "Cozumel-Dolphin encounter at Chankanaab and enjoy the beach there before our dolphin time." I had fun with the dolphins and Chankanaab is a nice place. You can do snorkeling there too. The beach is white sand and pretty but it is not right up on the beach. To get to the water you have to climb down stairs, because it is very rocky, but once in there are quite bit of colorful fish in the area. The food buffet is OK, nothing to shout about but it gets the job done. You can actually see the cruise ships docked from where you are so the ride to the beach area is pretty short. Bring some money for lockers, and if you want pictures with you and the dolphins, that costs too.
  7. My wife feels the same way about Roatan she refuses to go on an excursion. The last time we went we had security following us around. I thought to myself that is never a good thing to have security with you on an excursion. I have seen a lot worse since I was in the military for 20 years and always got sent to the garden spots of the world. I would say Haiti, not Labadee, would be one of the worse places as poverty is a way of life - roads, what roads; oh, you need to use the bathroom - ok, well the street looks like a good place for it.
  8. It's always good to see when people can take their passion of something, like cruising for instance, and monetize it. I wish I were able to do that.
  9. I had some heavy turbulence coming back from Miami a little over a week ago that had the flight crew sitting down most of the journey. When I landed I thanked the flight crew and walked off. Couldn't have imagined whining about it and asking for compensation but I am sure there were some that did just that.
  10. It seems everyone today wants to be offended by something as well as get something for nothing - this is a perfect storm for that. If I remember the article it only lasted 1 minute of time before they were able to upright the ship again. It would have been scary yes but what else could they do. As you stated you take a risk whenever you step on anything mechanical including flying. It happens...and that's all I am have to say about that.
  11. I believe Michelle @michelleis too based upon her voicemail.
  12. I have been to Cap Haitien when I was in the Military stationed in Haiti, Port-au-Prince, circa 1997, with United States Support Group-Haiti building wells and roads. It is actually a very nice place, in regards to overall Haiti, and the Haitian people are a really nice lot. All that being said, you can get placed in dangerous situations really fast and the place is prone to political turmoil. One minute it can be calm and the next there are machetes being carried by the crowd. And the problem is unless you understand Creole you won't understand the situation. It can be calm as can be, and you can have an awesome time, with great people; however, there is that one-time, maybe 1 out of a 100, and it can go bad. It's all about calculated risk and only you know your tolerance. And, understand the nearest security is not going to help you unless you pay them too. For perspective, when I was in Cap Haitien I was armed and still felt odd sometimes.
  13. USMC or 82nd Airborne or 75th Ranger Regt?
  14. I have not been brave enough to go past 7 days on a cruise so I look forward to your blogging. Have an awesome time! I am leaving from Miami on the 29th of October but on Carnival. I booked it before I really knew much about Royal Caribbean. I will still have fun I do pretty much wherever I am
  15. I didn't know what to expect when I opened this and I am still not sure what I read.
  16. No amount of frozen sweet drinks would get me to do that to my body; but, tequila, there is no telling what I would do. ?
  17. I am so glad that worked. Now enjoy the rest of the cruise. I have become very in-tuned to rapid barometric changes. A large incoming storm can really give me bad headaches.
  18. I am really sorry you have a killer headache @ellcee I know how those can be and can ruin a day. It may be barometric changes that are giving you the headaches. If you have any storms around that can mess with your sinus cavity giving headaches. If that is the case you may want to try Excedrin as it opens the capillaries in the brain. Never know but if the Migraine meds aren't working you may want to give something else a try. I am very susceptible to barometric changes and get headaches if it changes too rapidly. Just a thought. I hope you feel better.
  19. Does this mean that the Twangster now has groupies ?
  20. I did that as well before I knew MEI existed, and this forum, and I was able to transfer waaaaaay past the 60 day mark. I would imagine that if you are a high volume Travel Agency there are some special things that can/are done. And I think MEI falls into that category.
  21. That price will change according to the demand for suite occupancy on the ship. As there is less demand the prices will come down accordingly. My guess for a normal 7 day cruise it would be in the ball park of $800-1300 +/-. On my cruise out of Puerto Rico next year on the Freedom of the Seas I have a Grand Suite but I always look at what rooms are left and they had an Owners Suite for about $800 more..not bad. I just looked again and it's $1100 difference so it changes all the time. You can go on the RC website and price it out pretty quickly by going to your actual cruise and looking for rooms and seeing the price differences. I do it all the time and you can also see sales and get your cruise reduced in price even if you have paid already.
  22. I am curious as I am very new to cruising. When Hurricanes are threatening an area that you are going to are the Cruise Lines vigilant about updating passengers prior to cruising? Or do you have to travel to the port location and then find out you are stuck?
  23. Me thinks he has other reasons not to go on a cruise and he is just using this as his line-in-the sand because the real truth will sound stupid.
