Omg... it is snowing again here in chicagoland! I'm counting down...20 days till I board freedom! Yesssssss! Last time I was in Florida it was 28 degrees one of the days so fort Lauderdale better be good to me! Jane

Can you believe i cant get my chicago raised daughter to eat deep dish but she cant wait to go on freedom in 3 weeks to eat sorrentos! Jane

Ok...totally do the same thing! I buy the foaming soap and the air freshener apraybwhich are great for the little room and bathroom...and gotta have theshower gel too! Jane

The giant masks sound very cool. My daughter and i were in costa maya in 2015 on our first cruise. We went to chacchoben and then hung out on the public beach before getting her hair braided at the port area. It was a great day. I wasnt going to do the ruins this time at all...she and i were going to hit the port and then maybe try the flow rider for the first time. My husband is a high school world history teacher so he would love to see ruins. Im thinking for sure its a rc tour or nothing...if he missed the boat he would kill me lol! Jane

This was the same excursion (I believe) that the bus crashed a few months ago. So Royal just sent (3 weeks pre sail) an email saying my husbands chacchoben 4 hour trip has been cancelled. Only other option that day (costa maya) are the kohunlich ruins. Other than an extra hour each way (2 hrs total)...is there any difference? Are these ruins worth seeing? He could try to see ruins in cozumel if these arent good but we have nachi planned that day and im guessing maya chan would be sold out at this point so we cant swap that for nachi. Would love any input on ruins. I hesitate to go with private tours as he is a worrier and he'd stress about getting back to the ship. Jane

I sailed adventure out of San Juan in August 2016, so they do leave some ships down there sometimes. Jane

We also loved the ruins at Costa Maya. Next time we aren't booked at nachi the next day we will try Maya Chan in Costa Maya... supposed to be really great. Jane

We are booked at the Hilton marina the night before, but we splurged because we have never been to fort Lauderdale and are getting on at noon. After the cruise we are staying at the w on the beach to relax and have an extra day since we are on only a 6 day cruise. Jane

I got my Boca clips from Amazon, they lasted great, made me smile and nobody swiped them! Jane

We start and end in Barcelona... give me any pointers as I think we will spend at least a couple days pre- cruise there. We hit Cannes, Florence, Rome, then Athens, mykenos, Santorini and valetta Malta. We have never been to Europe and will go to France this summer and this cruise next. I would love to do pompeii and Venice though. I think we won't do Pisa and will instead go to Florence...I'd love to spend days at the uffizi but I will see it briefly and I'm sure our next long European land trip still be to Italy. Jane

What is the itinerary? We are booked on the 12 day vision med/greek isles for july 2019...8 ports and 4 sea days. It will be our 2nd trip to europe! 1st to that area! Jane

I know that I jumped over to freedom for a repeat because it was so much cheaper than the oasis trip. I think I'd like to try oasis class once for the dining if nothing else, but I think I'd have to get an ocean balcony because I'd miss the ocean feel. Playmakers sounds like a fun spend a couple hours... if it's successful I wonder if they'd start eliminating Johnny rockets on the ships... I'm not sure Howe long their contract goes but I'm seeing increased complaints about the quality and the value with the increased prices. Jane

I thought el morro was more interesting than the other fort (which is smaller). The views from el Morro are amazing. Definitely consider the trolley... there might be a wait but it will take you to both forts as well as stops in old sam Juan... which you should try and walk down a couple streets in. There are hills everywhere...be careful with your knee. We embarked from San Juan so had more time to explore but I would do these 2 things. Matt had recommended an amazing little restaurant before in old San Juan that I can't remember the name of... it was wonderful. That was pre hurricane though. Love San Juan...get off and spend any time you can and spend lots to bolster the economy. Jane

I always brought a glass of wine with me, and then ordered before it was half gone. Service was better on freedom than on my adventure cruise where the bar service was pretty nonexistant. Jane
