  1. I would start by calling/emailing the special needs department -- https://www.royalcaribbean.com/resources/guest-special-needs as soon as possible to find out exactly what you need to do and explain to them what you will need. At the very least, you will probably need them to supply an extension cord for the IV pump.
  2. A few weeks ago, when they were transitioning from the old menus to the new ones, I only saw "Wine" listed - with a wine menu available for dinner but no actual dinner menus. Did see some Kid's menus then, but nothing else. Try looking at one of the other dining rooms, with the set time dining.
  3. It may depend on if you are at your own table or with others. Several years ago, younger DD & DH were going on an excursion that would entail them being too late for our early dining time, which I would be going to with older DD (due to her disability & her being in a wheelchair, Windjammer was tough with just the two of us). Windjammer was a potential problem for them, because younger DD has Celiac, and buffets, even with assistance from the head chef, are problematic for her. We told our headwaiter the night before, & he told them to just show up when they got back, ask for him, and he would make sure they were taken care of. Ended up not needing it, since weather cancelled their excursion, but it was helpful to have that as a backup
  4. yes - open the app, and pick the "select a different cruise" option. Scroll past all your upcoming cruises, and at the very bottom, click on Browse our ships.. Pick Oasis, then click on the top option - currently Feb 5-12 - which is the current cruise. Pick dining at the bottom left, find Izumi under the Restaurants tab, pick Izumi sushi, then under times, click on show more, and it will show you that certain days have lunch. Those are, as said above, likely sea days, but they should be open for lunch those days.
  5. Might depend on the ship. Which one are you sailing on?
  6. We (husband, adult daughter & I) will be on this cruise also - the second of a BTB - can't wait!!
  7. I enjoyed Giovanni's on Adventure (back in 2018). Jamie's in 2019 on Anthem didn't thrill me as much, but we will be on Anthem next month & DH really wants to go there, so we will do one night. I scheduled it for the night that I thought would be Mexican night, as nothing there really appealed, but now I'm not sure I picked the correct night. Do you think I will be able to change nights on board ship without it being a problem? I figure once onboard, I'll know for sure what night is Mexican and we can skip it then
  8. How about messaging a passenger that is currently off the ship? I know they won't get it while they are off the ship, but will they then get it once they return? DH is planning on taking an excursion while I stay on board, so I would like to message him where I am before he returns. Would that work?
  9. Yup, that's what we do. 1 person just means it's the same code that can be used by however many devices you purchase. If your party is in more than one room (ie, we have sailed with DD's in connecting cabins) you can share it with other cabins as well. As stated above, if you have 2 devices, and you have both your phone & tablet hooked up, no one else will be able to use the code (or, it will kick one of the other devices off the internet). I have 1 person 2 devices for me & DH for March, ! person 3 devices for me, DH & DD in August - cheaper than each person having 1 device each
  10. Unfortunately, it's too much seafood for DH - he's a meat & potatoes guy too, and the only seafood he eats is shrimp and fried calamari - he tried salmon a couple of times, but no go - would not be able to get him to this dinner
  11. My daughter has made Nutella cheesecakes....
  12. years and years ago, when my family lived in California for 4 years (rest of fam was back in NY), my aunt & uncle came to visit us. Since my uncle worked for American Airlines, they essentially got to fly free (this was back in the 70's), but flew standby. Since we missed a lot of the food we couldn't get in CA, my aunt decided to surprise my dad by bringing him a large chunk (round) of sharp provolone cheese. This cheese has a very distinct odor, so my aunt wrapped it first in plastic wrap, then in foil & put it in her carry on. As luck would have it, they couldn't get a non stop, & had to transfer planes either once or twice. In each case, the x-ray machine saw this large metal ball in my aunt's bag, and of course, she had to take it out and unwrap it for each time through. When they got to our house, she threw it at Daddy and said, " Never again!!!".
  13. You can bring pre packaged food on if you want snacks for your kids to keep in your cabin or bring off ship with you so that you are assured of having something, but as said above, you can definitely go to any free food area at any time they are open & get what you want for anyone. Kid's menu in the MDR has typical kid stuff, so he should be ok. You can also go to windjammer anytime it is open & pack a plate of snacks to go - anything that can be saved & eaten later. I bring plastic baggies for this - you can keep fruit, cheese, crackers, yogurt etc in your room. The "refrigerator" is more like a cooler, but it should keep stuff like that fine for a while. You can also get dry cereal @ breakfast to keep to snack on.
  14. DH did a beer tasting years ago on Explorer. Would love a scotch or beer tasting, but haven't seen any options yet, but maybe will show up while we're on board
  15. from the website - Final payment of the balance must be received at Royal Caribbean's offices at least 75 days prior to the sailing date for 1 - 4 night cruise vacations and 90 days prior to the sailing date for 5-night or longer cruise vacations. The payment schedule for groups is different from that of individuals. You will usually have access to your cruise documents 30 days prior to your sailing as long as your reservation is finalized.
  16. Just check to see what the minimum age is - never travelled with a young child, but it might be 6 months old
  17. yes, you can use it anywhere on the ship (possible exception is Vintages, if the ship has it, and only because I never went in it, so never tried). You can also use it on Coco Cay & Labadee
  18. Getting a little nervous about my upcoming cruise with DH - did My Time with him & DD on Anthem 4 years ago, but we were in a Jr Suite & spent most nights either in Coastal Kitchen or specialty, so was only in MDR 3 nights (of a 12 night cruise). Wasn't particularly impressed then. This time, it's just us, so we're not as concerned about the time of day, but hadn't thought about it just being the 2 of us and possibly eating with other people. Will have to see how we want to handle this - just us, or be open to dining with one or more others.
  19. I believe French night is supposed to be the first "formal" night, which is night 2 on a 7 night cruise. Can't remember if it's different on other length cruises
  20. and good answer - if you don't need to worry about eating lunch onboard, and you're not early risers anyway, take a later embarkation time & you can likely go straight to your cabin to drop things off and get right to exploring, having a drink, etc. Wear a bathing suit under your clothes if you're pool people and if it will be warm enough to hang out there. Whatever is good for you. We always wanted early time, but my daughter's medical issues made it difficult - but, she also needed to eat lunch, so we had to get there early enough to eat as well. This March, DH & I are sailing by ourselves, & plan on getting on with a 1030 embarkation time - pick somewhere to have lunch & sit until I can get my scooter, and he can take full advantage of his DBP
  21. DH promised to order Lobster tail in addition to his meal if I want a 2nd one, although recently I have seen pics showing that it is large enough for me that I won't need a 2nd one, but we will see.
  22. I don't like either of those times myself. When I cruised with my whole family in 2013, we had early dining, but it was 6pm, which was fine. When we cruised with older DD, she had early bedtime (adult, but with medical and other disabilities) we did either early or MTD, but the cruise we did MTD for, we were in a Jr suite and were in CK or specialty dining most of that 12 night cruise. We got reservations for the few nights we ate in MDR, but it really didn't please us. With younger DD, we want set dining because she has celiac and want the convenience of same time, same wait staff for her. We have late dining this time (Aug, Oasis) because older won't be with us. We're doing a B2B, and ordered the UDP for the 2nd one, do that should be interesting as well. DH and I are on Anthem in March, took MTD, and reserved between 645-715, which is ok for us. May do one specialty dining, but otherwise we'll see how it goes this time.
  23. Your boarding pass (electronic or paper) will also indicate what Bev package you have if bought beforehand, and you can use that prior to getting your Seapass card
  24. true, I forgot about that, but since I always sail out of Bayonne. it's midnight EST for me
  25. Used to be 90 days, but I believe it is now 45 days, 12 midnight EST
