  1. I suspect the intern is triple checking everything, potentially at their new job somewhere else.
  2. St Thomas is America. It's also a small island much like a small town and somebody always knows somebody else that can get an article pulled.
  3. Seeing some price drops on the UDP (dining) and some excursions are cheaper (although some went up). Minor changes on some DX and refreshment packages but inconsistent across different cruises. Overall saved over a hundred on excursions across a number of sailings. Some were $8 cheaper, some $40 cheaper. Cruise planner access is cranky for me, sometimes taking a few attempts to get in.
  4. Supposedly it will be the first airline to offer drink, dining and a snack package.
  5. i've only experienced Sky Suites. The butler to unpack didn't happen nor would I want it to. He was more of a concierge who was available but nothing at all like a Genie in Star Class on Royal.
  6. Cruise compass may help answer your Ovation question: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass?ship=1079
  7. Part of the Millennium class and due for her revolutionization next fall (11/2020). I sailed on her sister ship to Alaska a few years ago and enjoyed the ship. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/5211-alaska-recap-celebrity-millennium-june-2017/ It's a Panamax ship so similar in size to Radiance class.
  8. Keeping this on my radar screen but trying to put a serious dent on my cruise bucket list so not committing just yet. Plus all the SC is gone so there's that too.
  9. Then on New Years Eve those same land restaurants manage to cram yet a few more tables into the same space so they can charge the special NYE rate for a "special" dinner.
  10. You should start a separate thread on the unofficial GC, sort of roll call type post to consolidate all unofficial GC chatter.
  11. Welcome to the message boards! Adventure doesn't book any entertainment in advance.
  12. Possibly. If your TA has been there and looked for it but it's sort of getting deeper into the weeds than some TA's venture. Perhaps some other users here have direct experience with this.
  13. Here is a JS tub on sister ship Enchantment:
  14. I understand Royal is working with a mortgage company and will begin offering 5 and 15 year mortgages for the overwater cabanas.
  15. Welcome to the message boards! Most US based cell plans for Apple Watch don't include roaming internationally so the cellular features won't work outside of the US. The Apple Watch was designed originally to be tethered to an iPhone. It obtained all of it's connectivity through the phone. Newer Apple watches running newer software can connect to wifi when the phone isn't nearby. It still prefers to use the phone's connection but can fall back to wifi when the phone isn't present. An Apple watch can connect to wifi that doesn't require logging in to the wifi. At home for example an Apple Watch will learn of your home wifi from your phone and connect to your home wifi when your phone isn't within range. Voom requires you log in. For this reason it doesn't work with an Apple Watch. However if your son's phone is connected to Voom with a paid Voom plan, the Apple Watch will function normally as long as his phone is with him.
  16. One of the positive side effects of the Cuba fall out. I picked up an Empress run to Tortola which rarely appears on a Royal itinerary.
  17. Exactly. Most drinks are covered by DX. Exception is wine where better wines have overages. Sometimes I like a better wine with a good meal so I pay the overage and don't sweat it. Sometimes I'm good with the included wines. Also special drinks like in a Coconut or souvenir cups are not included in DX. Just ask for the same drink in a regular cup and it's covered.
  18. With a booked B2B on Empress my ports don't repeat. With a booked B2B on Navigator my ports repeat, a double dip to CocoCay and Nassau. With a booked Oasis class B3B I'll do Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean and then Eastern Caribbean again. This includes three visits to their private destination. I've been to all the ports before so it doesn't matter. Pricing was good, reduced solo supplement so 21 days on a ship. Why not? I also have a side-to-side or S2S booked. Take a cruise, debark and move to another ship the same day. If I'm spending money on an airplane ticket I might as well do two cruises. The best part of a B2B is seeing this... ...and knowing you don't have to pack.
  19. Dealing with luggage on debark day with a later flight is always something that requires some planning. You likely don't want to drag your luggage around all day while sightseeing. If your airline allows you to check luggage in the morning one option would be to return to the airport, check luggage with the airline, then taxi to Old San Juan from the airport. Just an FYI - San Juan airport has an agricultural check point for all luggage. Make sure to go there first before checking luggage at your airline.
  20. The #1 problem solved is the fact that most cruises are too short. For someone who has to fly to a cruise a B2B saves airfare compared to taking two distinct cruises. B2B allows you to unpack and unwind. You don't need to take in every show because you can catch one on the next cruise. Cruises are great but if you try to do everything offered in one cruise you may end up exhausted and need a vacation from your vacation. Take Oasis class. It's hard to participate in everything offered during a 7 night cruise. More often than not you have to pick something but miss out on something else. When you go a B2B you can do some things on one cruise and different things on the next. Really enjoyed one show? See it again! B2B also lets you try different things in repeated ports while exposing you to new ports that are not common to both itineraries. One visit you can go to a beach and relax, the repeat visit you can go on an ATV or tubing in a cave or you can stay on the ship and enjoy the ship empty of most guests. B2B solves the FOMO issue while leaving even more time to relax. B2B also means one more week of not doing the dishes, cooking or cleaning. I have a B3B booked. Three cruises in a row on the same ship. B2B is cool, B3B is the next level.
