  1. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe that you should be able to get coffee at Cafe Promenade. It won't be anything like Starbucks and will be complementary but I believe that it is open 24 hour a day. I know that I have gone there plenty of times and gotten water or tea but not coffee ( just not a big coffee drinker).
  2. Have to agree with @JLMoran we were there in between 1030-1100 and while there was a small traffic jam it was not half bad, we had to wait about 15-20 minutes and then from the point the porter pointed us to a spot to park and take our luggage out of the car until we were on the ship it was less than 15 minutes. We could not believe how efficient they were, it was the fastest that we have done that process and gotten onboard!
  3. I COMPLETELY understand what you are going through, been a Paramedic/Firefighter for 19 years and the constant sleepless nights have done a job on my sleep cycle. Even taking Ambien CR 12.5mg I STILL wake up between 2-4. At one point of time I would lay there and try to go back to sleep, anymore I use this time to get up and enjoy the peace and quiet and start jogging with the dog. I have never been on that particular ship but I can tell you that one of the things that I do is get up and walk the ship, sit on one of the decks near the window and just watch the crew work or watch the sunrise with the waves going by. Everything is quiet and I consider it my special time on the ship!
  4. One other thing to consider is that the port is at least a hour drive away from the park, so that cuts at least two hours off of the time that you will get to spend in the park, just getting there and back.
  5. Have not done it but I did look into it last year for our cruise, and after looking at the times I decided that it was not worth it whatsoever! I can not remember what time you have to meet your transport to go to the park, but what I do remember is that you have far less than 6 hours to be in the park. That to me is not worth the cost of the ticket and transportation, if we had the chance to have at least 8-10 hours there I would have done it but it just was not worth the short time. We cruise out of Port Canaveral often enough that one of these times we will just get there a few days early and spend the time there prior to getting on the ship that way we won't feel rushed.
  6. Have to agree, on a few points! The shopping there is MUCH better and you have far more choices, I am open to improvements but I do not want it to be anything like a theme park atmosphere. I think that there are a few other things that they can do to make it nicer and a better experience, but I personally would be happy with Coco Cay being the only experience. I really wouldn't see them trying to replicate it there as I believe that it would be far too close.
  7. We cruise ALL the time during spring break, have not had a single issue! As a matter of fact we have only had one problem and that was a cruise close to Christmas, there was a group of older people that were HIGHLY intoxicated and loud. So loud that you could not hear the movie playing on the screen by the pool and we were across the pool and at the opposite end of the pool from them. Quite a few people ended up complaining and a senior officer went over to them and they got their stuff and left. That has been the only issue we have had out of 9 cruises, most of them being when the ship is at capacity over spring break or Christmas break.
  8. I am not going to make assumptions, but I will have to say that Labadee was not one of our favorite stops. We did have a good time there but I honestly would appreciate any improvements that they could make there. For me I really would not want another CocoCay experience but a little something else would be nice and greatly appreciated!
  9. Just an FYI we had reservations for the NorthStar but that first day when we boarded they were letting people on, we had maybe a 10 minute wait at the most and got right on. So PLEASE check to see if they will let you get on when you get onboard. We got on and had lunch and then started exploring, when we saw that they were letting people ride NorthStar without reservations we got in line and were on in no time!
  10. I have to agree with @emsff02 we have gone snorkeling and enjoyed it, we have been there many times and each time it was one of our favorite spots that we stopped due to the great weather and just being able to relax rather than worry about crime, or being somewhere at a particular time. The new additions are great, and the last time we went we REALLY enjoyed the pool, but we just enjoy relaxing and watching the day roll by. I am sure the new additions are great fun, but I am perfectly fine enjoying what they have for free (or what comes with a cabana rental, which is something else that is amazing.)
  11. I would try checking https://www.goport.com/ we have used them several times and they have been absolutely amazing. We have stayed in a 4-5 star hotel each time and they provided a shuttle both ways along with parking for our vehicle and paid no more than $170 for everything. The hotels were amazing, as well as the shuttle, we have had NO complaints since we started using them.
  12. Balcony areas are somewhat private, depending on the area, if you have a balcony that is near a room that is on a "hump" then the individual on the hump will be able to see quite a few balconies due to how they stick out from the side of the ship. Not only that but if you have someone that is nosy they can simply hang over the balcony railing a bit and look around. They are a little private but not as much as you think. I would not advise leaving anything that is expensive on the balcony as well.....while you have most that will respect your stuff sitting out, if you have someone that is absolutely crazy enough you can easily get on the rail swing over and grab what happens to be on your balcony and then jump back over. There is no smoking on the balconies but that does not mean that it does not happen. I have been on a couple of cruises that you could smell someone upwind that was smoking, it has not happened a lot but it definitely has happened. Hope this helps!! Have a great cruise!
  13. Sailed on Majesty, one of the smallest ships we have been on but we still had an absolute AMAZING time. It will not provide you with the WOW factor that the newer ships will provide but it is still nice for her age. I personally would not hesitate to book another cruise on Majesty again, and the crew was absolutely fantastic, actually one of the best customer service related cruises we have had. We have yet to have any real issues on a cruise, and have met quite a few crew that have been wonderful and made our cruise, that being said the crew on Majesty were above and beyond each and every day of our four day cruise.
  14. We sailed Anthem during spring break this year and we did not plan on eating at any specialty restaurants since we had access to CK, that being said I did know the prices prior to us boarding and the price that we saw on ship was actually a little more expensive. We did break down and had lunch at Jamies (which was absolutely fabulous and money well spent). I would honestly suggest getting the package prior to getting onboard, and as @WAAAYTOOO has stated, you are sailing during a premium time I would not expect a deal once onboard.
  15. We have sailed out of PC several times and we prefer to get there as close to 11 as possible, we have found that the lines are shorter and we get onboard much sooner the closer we arrive to 1030-11 time frame. Good luck!!!
  16. Just like @PG Cruiser and @Lovetocruise2002 go ahead and sign one more up for having them in the suitcase without any issues! I do not put them in an outside pocket, and put them inside my luggage in a bag that I keep all my cruise stash in. I do not want them to mess with something that may be in another suitcase or bag that is close to mine. But I have yet to have an issues.
  17. We sailed in a JS and there were no magnified mirrors in our cabin, I can not speak on the other class but I would doubt it. I honestly have never seen on in any stateroom that we have sailed in out of 9 cruises.
  18. I sailed the exact same cruise this year from 30Mar to 06Apr and we had to pack both warm and cold weather stuff. We were on the deck for a little while to enjoy the view but after that we went inside. I can not give you exact temps but it was cold enough that we both had a jacket on, looking at videos that I took of that day, you had a good mix of folks that had something warm on. I also remember coming back to cold weather as well, as far as the mix of folks there was a pretty good mix of everything onboard, anything from kids up to people in their 80's and 90's. Once you get further south as well as further away from the coast the temps will increase. We are from Virginia so we get cold but NOTHING like what they get further up north so anything below 60 starts to get rather chilly for us. I can tell you that I would have NO issue booking this cruise again and for the same reasons that you mentioned. It is cheaper for us to go there vs flying or driving down to Florida, closest port there for us is a 14 hour drive vs a 6 hour drive to Cape Liberty and the price was absolutely AMAZING. Trust me you guys will have a great time! Just please take a few minutes to please go and appreciate one of my favorite spots, sitting in 270 looking out the windows and enjoying the absolutely breathtaking view! I could not imagine being on Ovation and sailing through Alaska and being in there.
  19. Ok after perusing your list, I found one thing that was left out! Sending me an invitation for a prepaid cruise!!!?
  20. I understand most of the stuff surrounding the "farewell performance" but I have to say that I really do not enjoy it as well. I would appreciate it a lot more they would stand at the entrance/exit somewhere after most have been served and allow you to say something on the way out. Or find a better way, I do appreciate them and what they do for us while we are onboard but I do not appreciate it whatsoever.
  21. I know that things may have changed but I did not see anything of the sort when we were there in March/April. You park inside of a multistory parking garage and there were no charging stations for EV's.
  22. From what I have read on this site, there is no area for guests that have purchased a suite, from what I understand in order for anyone to get any "perks" you will have to pay extra and purchase the appropriate cabana or package.
  23. Had a issue where they fell out of my bag somewhere, and like @melski94 stated the porters have more so it is not that big of a deal. Enjoy your cruise and please put your feet up and relax for those of us that still are on land and have to work! ?
  24. I usually wear a sport coat, button down shirt and tie, and slacks, anything less and I will get skinned alive since the wife gets our picture from that night from every cruise.
  25. Have go agree, if you are only going to drink a few cans the drink package won't be for you. At the end of the cruise the amount you will pay for the drink package will be far more than just bringing on a 12 pack of whatever you desire to drink. Not sure what your lifestyle is but I know if I purchased the package I would be "trying to get my money's worth" and drinking far more soda than I should and gaining far more weight than I should during the cruise. ?
