  1. I am currently booked on an Alaskan cruise and already can not wait, I just want you to know that you just made my illness much worse!! Great pictures and great post! Thank you! Great job!
  2. Was finally able to take the time to watch the video, I would gladly welcome the change! The facial recognition, and ability to control things in the room from the cell, and texting without having to use data. The latter comes in handy when you have kids that you would like to keep track of, or you are with a group of people and are away from your room. Overall I like it, as long as they are smart enough to have the kinks worked out prior to rolling it out live!
  3. Same here, that would be wonderful not having to drive all the way down to FLA! A 6 hour drive is WAY better than 14 any day!
  4. That news just broke my heart! I already know that I would have been in stitches laughing!!!
  5. That is one story that I would love to read!!! I could not imagine the smell coming off of that thing, not to mention what she felt before she found out what it was! Sounds like that is a post that would have me laughing util my sides hurt!!!
  6. We enjoy several things! Love and marriage show Quest Relaxing in the solarium Park Cafe kumelweck sammitch Bingo Sabor is absolutely amazing!! Giovannis! But that is a short list, there are quite a few more but one of the biggest is relaxing, and being pampered for a week rather than have to worry about work, the kids, whats for dinner, and cleaning and washing clothes, and dishes!!
  7. Not at all, due to customs you would not be able to bring that onboard. They get picky over seashells and say that they do not want the bacteria coming back to the states, you DEFINITELY would not be able to make it onboard with a whole fish. Not to mention where would be able to freeze it, I can assure you that unless it was an emergency no outside food would be allowed in the galley freezers.
  8. Sorry, went there in Cozumel only because my wife was dehydrated and not far from needing medical attention, she had stopped sweating, had a headache, nausea and was quickly starting to overheat. We just got several waters and a nachos, bill was around $25 without the tip and the nachos were some of the worst I have ever had. I am not a big Taco Bell fan but I can assure you that even a Nachos Bell Grande from there would have tasted better than what we had. Service was good but it was expensive! FYI I have found that usually things in the Bahamas are more expensive than in almost all of the other ports we have been in.
  9. We had MTD set up for one 7 day cruise for a group of 6 and just like @rjac stated it did not go so well, so we made sure that for the next year we had our regular set time in the MDR, as we usually did. No comparison, and it was less of a headache as well! If its just the two of us we don't care but more than that and we will always choose normal dining.
  10. I am currently platinum, and will be emerald by this time next year, but that all is just a added bonus, because any day at sea is better than my usual day at work!!! We have two cruises booked, both in a JS, and hopefully will be close to diamond before the end of 2019 depending on the schedule for the rest of 2019. But level does not matter as much as the vacation and time away from work and stress!!
  11. I have, I did not make huge deal out of it, she had no idea what was going on, but her kids knew something was coming! I waited until formal night and told the person that was taking our pictures what my intentions were and to please catch it on film, which she was more than happy to do. After she was done taking the pictures of all of us she gave me the nod and I got down on my knee and asked her to marry me. I liked it because it caught everything on film including her expression when she realized what was really going on.
  12. I was looking on another website and this was posted.......interesting and informative! http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/277322/big-interview-michael-bayley-president-and-chief-executive-of-royal-caribbean-international
  13. If you guys will be with her then go and have a blast, especially since this will be the last big vacation for her, don't let the disease keep her from a great time and the chance to make more memories!
  14. Sure go on the cruise but please make sure that someone is with them at all times, there is no way that you can predict when they will have a memory loss and having someone there that is familiar to them is a great help. Not sure how far the disease has progressed but I know that they also derive comfort from familiar surroundings as the disease progresses, for their safety I would say please have someone with them to ensure that they do not get lost or confused. I am the step son of a mother that had Alzheimers/dementia and understand that "making memories and family time" are EXTREMELY important but our elders also need to be cared for and safe. Please go and have a great time but please have someone with them at all times.
  15. We have a cruise planned for Dec 22 of this year leaving from Port Canaveral, and I used Go Port Canaveral, you pay one price and get a room, parking for your car as well as a shuttle for one price. I paid about $180 for a room at a 5 star hotel, shuttle transportation to and from the port as well as cruise parking for the 4 days since we are driving down. This will be the very first time using it and will let you know how well it goes! PS, they also have packages that is for those flying in, not sure of the price but I am sure that it is much less than getting everything separately.
  16. Hey be thankful that you still have hair! If a fly landed on my head then he would slip off and break a leg!
  17. I have saved cash this way on several cruises, we have a Alaskan cruise scheduled for next June. I upgraded our room because the sale price for a JS was only a few hundred off of our balcony so it was worth it for the few perks as well as double cruise points.
  18. I do not diet pre cruise, but I also am in the gym regularly as well as taking the steps as much as possible to try to keep off the weight. This next cruise I am going to try something new and add in a few protein shakes rather than snacking. I know that I am on vacation but I do not want to pack on the needless pounds either! I feel that if I cut some of the indulgence out and make sure that I am actively burning calories that I can manage to keep the weight gain down to a minimum.
  19. The sad thing is that I had some parachute pants, I do believe the name brand was Skidz, and yes they were purchased at Merry Go Round, you just brought back a LOT of high school memories!!
  20. You are correct! If there is any question they have plenty of clocks around even on the tv monitors by the elevators, they typically have the time on them so you can ensure that you are on the correct time. I always set my watch, and we strive to be back well before the time that we are supposed to be back, we have seen WAY too many videos of runners, and people getting left by the cruise ship. Enjoy your cruise and have fun!
  21. Yes it has, but you have to admit that it is absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!! Especially the comment that @rjac made about the full length front zipper and the chest hair, downright priceless! Yes the mental picture is absolutely disgusting but its funny as well!!
  22. Ok before I get started let me say that at the last time I parked there was about 3 years ago. But we did not have any issues whatsoever It was a great convenience, we got off of the boat, we carried our luggage off and got off around 8am. Price was about $20 per day, and yes you can find cheaper if you look. Second point about the drink package on Coco Cay is yes. Third is a point that several may not care for on here and there may be a some difference of opinion but yes you can get other things onboard. My sister drives cross country for our yearly cruise so she has quite a bit of snacks with her. She does not want to leave her food in the car so she carries it with her onboard. She carries her own brand of water because she is EXTREMELY picky about her water and only drinks that while she is onboard or during shore excursions. I actually have started carrying one case of water for us for when we are on excursions. Customs usually opens the package and shakes a few of the bottles to ensure it is not alcohol. I usually bring a empty carry on for that reason. I know it may change but for what a case of water costs vs buying it onboard a few bucks is wort it if they say no, not a big deal not much money lost. Several have said that it depends on the port but I have sailed from Tampa, Port Canaveral, as well as Port Everglades without any problems. I am not advising you to try it, just telling you my experience! I wish I could help you with the clubs on the ship, as December will be the first time I have sailed Majesty and am looking forward to it! And that pretty much sums up your last question as well! Happy sailing and I hope you guys have a great time!!
  23. Good luck @KLAconQueso! Never had a back to back cruise and I am just a little jealous, I know it is hard for me to leave at the end of a 7 day cruise as it is, at the end of 14 they would have to call maintenance to unlock the barricaded door to the cabin and unchain my behind from the balcony! I would NOT want to get off of the ship whatsoever! Thankfully the kids are getting older and more responsible, wife is soon to be on to another and much better paying career and I see quite a few more cruises on the horizon for us and can not wait. I know that it is a wee bit early but congratulations on your wedding hope you guys have a blast! Just had to say it now before I have a "senior moment" and forget to say it later!!!!
