WHERE IS THE CRUISE COUNTDOWN??!?

This is what happens when someone breaks in front of me at the windjammer. And I thought everyone was intoxicated at the muster drill?? ...No?? Hmm... well that explains a lot.

Usually a rum and coke for me. Sparkling wine for the wife. But a few times there have been waiters with trays of pina colada's right at the entrance of the ship. Impossible to pass up.

I am picky about good food and I like sorrento's better than johnny rockets. Johnny rockets is terrible. Greasy cold fries and onion rings, Cheap frozen pre-formed patty's with no seasoning, limp greasy undercooked bacon. AND IT COSTS EXTRA! At least sorrento's is free and their sandwiches/stromboli's are good. Carnival has Guy Fieri's Burgers and I have heard from everyone that has tried them how great they are and it's included! Royal Caribbean needs to up their burger/pizza/bar food game.

Here's my question, in the past you could go to guest services on first day and opt out of the daily gratuities. I am in no way trying to get out of paying it, my wife and I tip generously but prefer to hand it to the staff in cash and in person (a lot of times at a higher rate than the preset amount). Any idea if this will still be the case?? We have a booked cruise for next september with two other couples.

It covers up to $13 dollars on oasis and quantum class.

I wish they would add a perk for emerald. There pretty much isn't anything different from platinum to emerald.

Most specialty restaurant are all you can eat apps and sides and desserts but just one entree (like at chop's, just one steak but all the side or apps you wish to try). Not sure about sabor as I've never tried it.

Thank you, yeah we called and they took the $115 difference off the amount we owe. So used that savings plus our $100 room credit towards the purchase of the deluxe drink package.

I have a cruise booked on oasis for sept 9, 2018 and drink package dropped from 55 to 43 pp per day! Also, excursions are on sale, zipline in haiti is now 79 instead of 10x. Chop's is 20% off. And the cruise price itself has dropped. We booked non-refundable ocean view balcony for 1748 with 100 room credit. It is now 1633 with 100 credit. Can we rebook for the discount or do they not allow it since we booked non-refundable??

Citizen watches are the only ones ever on board that can be gotten at a good deal. Same price as at home but no tax. Invicta started selling watches on QVC, anything that is routinely sold at more than 75% off is never actually a good deal.

Great blog! Wife and I have been on freedom 3 times, out of all the ships we have been on (oasis, allure, independence, majesty) it is still our favorite. Best layout of all the ships.

They do not have san miguel. They had tecata on my last oasis cruise this past september though. Kinda similar.

Have a drink from the wipe-out bar while sailing away from port (any port). Its at the very back of the ship on one of the upper decks. Was kinda hard to find on Oasis but we found it and hung out there with friends during the sail away party from florida. No crowd and awesome view of wake trail and land fading away as we went out into the ocean. Scout out the windjammer before or after dinner. Sometime there are things that shouldn't be missed. See how many free champagnes you can drink at the captains reception on the royal promenade. See how many free champagnes you can drink at art auction. Find a bar and get to know the bartender and go there after getting dressed up for dinner every night. I really enjoy that time with my wife. Flowrider is fun, at least try the boogie board to experience it. Play a competitive round of mini golf in the evening once its not too hot. I could literally go on and on... have a great time!

My wife and I have booked this cruise with a balcony room at a great price. A friend from work and his girlfriend and a friend and his wife from church have booked it and are going as well. Should be a great cruise. My wife and I were on Oasis this past september when it got extended 3 extra days due to hurricane Irma and had such a great time that we booked it again! Same ports and everything. CANT WAIT! ...now if that drink package would just go on sale.

Hey Matt is there anyway to introduce a roll call thread to this forum? I know cruise critic has one that most tend to use but would be cool to have one specific to the blog people. Wife and I will be on Oasis sept 9, 2018. Anyone else??

Yeah Majesty was the largest cruise ship in the world when it came out. Hard to believe.

Just get the drink package and order the fresh squeezed orange juice with a shot of tequila. Then you'll deffinately get your moneys worth :p

MDR for me anyways. You can go anywhere on land and get a restaurant style dinner. Im all for paying gratuity if it increases the quality of service though.

Agree. I've been wanting a d7200 for a while now. Just never seems the right time to buy it. My dad has a d610 and I love it. I just have a canon g11 but wanting to get a dslr.
