  1. We still love the big girls for the Caribbean but as we near “bucket list” age, ports are priority. The big girls get old going to the same ports.
  2. Yes I agree. Changing the name to Crown gives them the ability to be flexible.
  3. There’s artwork depicting skateboarding of some sort in aqua dome on icon. Upper right under the “E”
  4. It’s beyond their control. It’s in the contract you agreed to. That’s what travel insurance is for. We did this cruise exactly a year ago. It was an amazing experience but there was always a chance we could be cancelled at any moment. It was a risk we were willing to take. It’s always been an extremely unstable part of the world. The situation can change in an instant just like it did this past Saturday I hope you get there someday because it was unforgettable
  5. For me, our Odyssey block is a remembrance of our Holy Land cruise where I put over 100 names of cancer patients/survivors in the Western Wall in Israel. It was also my 6 year anniversary of being cancer free from stage 4b cancer, a cancer that gave me a 15% chance of making it 5 years. So yeah those “cheap crystal blocks” actually can mean a lot to some people. I hope you never experience something like that but if you do, it’s nice to have a remembrance.
  6. We eat the same as we do at home. Decent breakfast, small lunch or snack, dinner. We don’t really eat rolls at dinner, only eat one app with entree, maybe get dessert. I always walk the track. If I gain weight it’s definitely from alcohol
  7. We still bought the package with 4 free drinks but now with 5, we aren’t. That $14 makes a big difference!
  8. The jump from Emerald to Diamond has always been a little one. Without double points promo, you could do it with 3-4 regular cruises. Many did it in 2 during double points. We were Covid D+. Went from 83 (pre Covid) to 187 with 4 cruises. 2 were plain balcony, 1 GS for 7 nights and a 12 night in JS. We would NEVER have done that in a regular year. I really can’t understand how they didn’t see this massive influx to top tiers when they offered this. I mean really, what did they think would happen? 30% increase to top tiers is HUGE! Not to mention allllllll those free drinks! If they ever do away with the drink vouchers, it’ll be waaaaay bigger than PizzaGate or doing away with the crystal blocks (which ultimately were cheapened to the current version). Hmmmm could we see a return of the old, limited Happy Hour drink menu? Grab yer torches and pitchforks!
  9. I wonder if this has something to do with possible merger with celebrity benefits? Or…….you can now buy access to the lounge through The Key
  10. No one can seem to verify the age. 55 or 65. It’s not showing up on any of my 3 and I’m 56. Also read about Diamond discounts in cruise planner but don’t see any.
  11. Vision and Radiance are the only classes that can fit under the bridge
  12. In the fine print it says one bottle of champagne
  13. I’ve lived in Florida almost 35 years. We are between Jacksonville and St Augustine in St Johns County. We get a change of seasons with occasional freezes in the winter. Hurricanes tend to skirt by us as they get sucked into the Gulf Stream. We don’t really have snow birds except when passing through on I-95. We are a golfer’s paradise and having the St Johns River, Intercoastal waterway and Atlantic Ocean, boating and fishing are very popular. St Johns is a great county.
  14. I personally think it’d be smarter to offer these as 1/2 day reservations. Charge $200 for 1/2 day and they net an additional $50 per bed, per day.
  15. Ha try living in Florida! The tourists never go away! I love it though because we pay no state income tax because of it. Got to take the good with the bad!
  16. We had a 7 night southbound (corner aft junior suite) on Radiance with a 3 night land tour booked back in 2022. Had to cancel because my daughter and I both got Covid the week before. Planned an entire year. No ship excursions, booked all private/small group. You save quite a bit of money booking off ship. Planning to rebook for 2026 on Radiance with same southbound itinerary BUT doing our own land tour, not through Royal. Cheaper again. I’d absolutely do the one way itinerary
  17. I’m the week after you on Icon and it’s $43.99. I just don’t get this “dynamic” pricing. Maybe I’m the first week after all the spring breaks end?
  18. Sooooo $43.99 for our April Icon. I bought it BUT if the previous sailings say it’s Jersey Shore and nothing but 18-25 year olds….I’ll be cancelling. Figure it’s a one and done because my October Utopia has it for $70.99. It’s like now they’re trying to get the Virgin passengers. How about catering to the passengers that made you who you are? The ones who put on damn masks and sailed your ships when you were sinking and still sinking in debt. Be very careful Royal because a lot of people who swore they were “Loyal to Royal” are starting to raise eyebrows and considering the competitors who will match status.
  19. But it’s not a true match. I get 5 drinks a day. Anytime, Anywhere. Celebrity limits you to happy hour. That’s not equal. I don’t want to drink 5 drinks in 2-3 hours
  20. I’ve got a balcony on deck 12 for April 2024 for $3200 Today, out of curiosity, I looked at the same date April 2026, balcony deck 12. $6400 After Icon we have Utopia in October 2024. After that, we’re going smaller ships to new ports. Honestly I’m soooo tired of the same eastern Caribbean ports. It’ll be interesting to see how final payment dates shake out. I think this first year of Icon most reservations will stay intact but if the economy doesn’t turn around, I see a lot of final payments not being made. We’ve already said Icon is likely a one and done for us. Too many kids lol
