I do not have first hand experience, but you could call the office and ask them if it is walkable (in addition to if they will give you a ride). Best thing to do is drop your family and luggage off at the port first and then return the vehicle. That way, less lugging around.

As you noted, the terms and conditions say it applies only to 5-night or longer cruises, so this deal would not have applied to your Enchantment of the Seas cruise, but it should have applied to Allure of the Seas. In the future, I recommend booking with a good travel agent because in situations like this, a travel agent would be the one "fighting" for you instead of you having to do all the leg work. And travel agents cost nothing extra!

Sorry to hear the service in Chops wasn't what you were expecting. I've usually had great service and even better food there. As for entertainment, many of the non-Broadway shows do not have a single plot that carries over between scenes. Royal Caribbean shows tend to be more of a "revue", where it's about performances and great music. Personally, I found the DCL shows to be repetitive in the sense of plot (good vs evil, dreams come true, etc). But that's just me.

Short answer is no, you cannot use your phones while at sea for free to communicate. Longer answer is there are some options depending on how much you are willing to spend. Use your cell phone text messaging. Often plans include free incoming texts and to send texts costs just a few cents. Invest in Royal Caribbean's unlimited internet plans. Costly, but you can use messaging apps to communicate for a fixed cost in addition to general use of the internet.

I'm surprised. I thought you'd agree with the idea that employers should pay servers (like yourself) a normal wage instead of relying on people to tip (which is not consistent). I'm actually not trying to troll you or anything :D
