I went there in March. The food and drinks is fairly expensive, so that $40 will get you 1 entree and 1-2 drinks before you go over (give or take). The issue for you is the timing. If you look closely, the day pass guests can start arriving at the Hilton at 9am. So that means you lose out on 1.5 hours of port time. The good news is the resort is SUPER close to the port, so maybe a 10 min walk back.

Not surprised to hear that Honey Stung Chicken was not in the WJ on embarkation day. It's been near-extinct for a number of years.

Welcome! We are on that itinerary for Harmony of the Seas, leaving July 1st. 7:30 -2 at Nassau is a very weird time. It's half a day, but most things in Nassau do not open until around 9, so you lose a good two hours. We haven't settled on anything to do yet. It seems like any resort day pass ideas are a waste because of the times you are in port. In short, you cannot go wrong with Anthem or Oasis. Ships such as Allure of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas pack a lot of entertainment, dining and tech onboard that offer the kind of "WOW moment" experiences many new to cruise guests have heard about.

I subscribe to the emails for the blog, but they really do send a lot of emails.

It's worth calling them and explaining your mistake. I once booked the wrong flight on the wrong week, and just a week before realized the error. I called JetBlue up and they waived the change fee.

Correct. If you put it in your checked luggage, your luggage will be flagged by security, and then you will have to go down to the security check on the ship to claim it. This means it will take forever to actually get your luggage. In short, only pack your wine in your carry on.

You cannot leave your luggage at the port. Here are some ideas for what to do with it Rent a car Leave the luggage at a hotel you are not staying at. Just ask bell services to hold the luggage because you haven't checked in, and tip them nicely.

As @BrianAlt mentioned, it's not routinely available but you can also send an email to [email protected] and they will send you an entertainment lineup. Maybe I'm weird (actually, yes I am), but I never email for the entertainment ahead of time. I like the surprise.
