The Key VIP Passes

Hello everyone,

 

First time cruiser here planning for Navigator of the Seas. Does anyone have any experience with The Key VIP Passes? I'm trying to find out if it's worth it or what others have experienced with it? Were you satisfied with it or wished you hadn't purchased it?

I've used The Key.  I like it IF the price is under $20 per person per day. Any more than that and it's not worth it to me.

The benefits are VERY front loaded. It’s worth it if maybe you can get it super cheap ($20ish), but anything more than that is a waste in my opinion

I purchased it for my most recent cruise. I would say that it is worth it if you can find it for a decent price and you were already going to purchase an Internet package. 

For my next cruise, in May, I bought The Key for $22.99 pppd and I was happy with it.

I usually get it for the priority de-boarding that you get with it.  Also the more low-key lunch at Chops and being able to drop off your carry on bags is a nice touch.

We have used the Key twice so far and it is well worth it for us.  We always get the WiFi, we like the dedicated Key line for check in, handing over carry on bags as you to enter for lunch (our bags were in our cabin when we were allowed to enter, but one of the most important features (in my opinion) is the dedicated Key bagging area on disembarkation.  This made that whole process a game changer for us.

I used The Key on my most recent Navigator cruise. The great part about it is that you can show up early and get into Suite/Key check in line to avoid all the masses. Then, you get priority boarding when they open boarding at 10:30 a.m. You can drop off your carry-on and luggage in one of the dining rooms and they will take it straight to your room! The embarkation lunch in Chops was delicious, I liked the special areas they had reserved for Key guests at shows (especially the ice skating one), the reserved time for some activities on sea day was fabulous, but the best part was really disembarkation when I could choose whatever time I wanted to get off the ship and someone would escort me to the front of the line. I didn't partake of the disembarkation breakfast, but everybody recommends it. I think I paid $23/day for mine, and it was mainly because Voom was going for $18/day at the time, so it wasn't a huge jump in cost to get all the extras. I think you'd enjoy it if you do it, but don't feel like you'd be missing out on anything if you don't - I've done other cruises on Navigator without The Key and still enjoyed myself immensely.

Ok thank you, I really appreciate the link regarding additional The Key experiences. I'll definitely go through them.

I do want the internet package that comes with it as I'm sure I'll use it for nerd stuff (I say that proudly ). I'll be doing some table top role playing games, amongst all the other great cruise activities I can do. Thanks!

Sounds good, I'll probably go with it and be sure to utilize those options.
