Aunt CC
My husband and I are going on our first cruise. I have been looking but have found some conflicting answers. We have our own snorkel gear. Will we be able to snorkel at Coco Cay without having to pay a rental fee as well? Will I need to rent a snorkeling life vest or would I need to bring my own? foxrunner
SpeedNoodles
You won't need to pay any fee with your own equipment. We bring ours all fo the time. I don't know about the life vest as we never use them. foxrunner
ChessE4
Take a vest as I was almost carried out to sea by a strong current. You can order online (inflatable). I go to cove at Chill Island. foxrunner

There are life vests hanging up in various areas around the island, near the pool and near the snorkel shack to name a few.... they are free to use. I know they have them for kids and adults...and I saw people just walking up and grabbing them, so as far as I know, they are free and available. CrimsonCruiser
Can anyone confirm if the vests are still free for use for adults with your own equipment? I'm not sure I want to spend the money to buy a vest....I've seen conflicting information that they are either free or cost $10 to rent for the day. foxrunner
MO & LO on the go!
We use our own snorkel gear at Coco Cay and all snorkel excursions. Much nicer than what they offer! I usually don't use life vests if they don't require it and Coco Cay does not require it but you need to pay attention to the water conditions. Some times it can get pretty nasty there. Chill Island is the best spot in my opinion and has things in the water to see (plane, etc). WAAAYTOOO

How do find the plane? We have found all the artificial reef buoyed sites. When I have asked the lifeguards they say it has been removed. Thanks

It was literally in the middle of the bay from what I remember. foxrunner
CruiseMommyOf3
Hi! I was actually wanting to ''snorkel'' with the kids on Coco Cay so they can experience to see fishes or stuff in the water. Is there a spot where is better to see fishes if any? Thanks!

The buoys mark the places were artificial reefs have been created. I wouldn't call it world class but free and fun.

A more general answer... head towards chill beach and ask a crew member for the best spot to snorkel and they will help you.
