asilverman
Hello, We are on Navigator tomorrow (9/7) leaving LA and going to Cabo. Has anyone heard anything about the itinerary changing due to Hurricane Kay?
DanoHB
Haven’t heard yet and we are on the same cruise.
Shuziqz
Been following the storm, Mr. Van Fleet's statements about Cabo and the conversation he had with the Navigator Captain. We've called RC asking to pick another cruising date. At first, we were told we could do so for a $100 per person change fee. When we called back with our newly selected cruise date, we were told that RC customer service never said we could change cruising dates. RC would not work with us, saying no itinerary changes have been formally announced, therefore we could not opt for another departure date. We keep thinking we'll receive an email offering options as that would be the right thing to do. Alas.....no email. Sue

Thomas Ihunt
Any comment from Royal Caribean? Extremely poor customer service experience... the cruise is heading towards a Hurricane and not any 1 single point of information.
smokeybandit
Kay will be a tough one since it's projected to ride the coast. I'd think Navigator will have to go out to sea more, then follow the storm (as it dissipates) from behind

What James Van Fleet says is better than anything else you'll get from the company in terms of what to expect. Keep following, he posts daily. smokeybandit
Based on JVF's limited commentary on Kay, it seems like that cruise will just follow the typical 3-day cruise route. Just hover around the US/MX border for sea days then go to Ensenada maybe an extra day.
WAYNO
I have been on a Royal Caribbean cruise where we had to evade a hurricane. The cruise line could not announce a plan, as even the skipper had to formulate a plan, minute by minute. Hurricanes can be quite unpredictable. Bottom line, we remained safe, and our cruise remained wonderful. PPPJJ-GCVAB
smokeybandit
As long as the cruise isn't canceled/delayed, no real need for an announcement. Those on board will get the info they need about changing ports of call WAYNO and FloatyBoaty
asilverman
We are sailing. The cruise is fantastic and the captain has been transparent. Itinerary changed to LA, sea, sea, Ensenada, Ensenada, LA We haven’t really been moving. Spent most of the night parked next to Catalina Island. We are current near San Diego and moving VERY slowly south. Hopefully we can get to Ensenada safely. If not, no big deal!!! We are enjoying and will continue to enjoy getting away from our hectic life. #LOYALTOROYAL PPPJJ-GCVAB, FloatyBoaty, Skigoofy and 4 others
mistertomatohead
Obviously Cabo is much much much better than Ensenada. I take it no Catalina. Is Ensenada an overnight now? Sounds dangerous. I hope people don’t stay out. Any compensation? Port fee and tax difference?
Ampurp85
I am currently on this cruise, we are barely moving but fog and wind are in abundance. They communicated the change in itinerary at the port. Lots of people at GS and excursions desk trying to book things for Ensenada.
