iamjohnbamber Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Just wondering if anyone's had any luck booking airfare with the Air2Sea website? Seems like it's hit or miss... figure it can't be a bad thing to book air travel through the cruise line so it's all linked up with your reservations, etc...Thoughts? RobertJaf 1 Quote
RestingBird Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 We used it from Orlando to Boston. I think my wife called though. I liked having it linked since we flew in embarkation day (will try to fly in day before from now on). Quote
Wilson Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 We have used it numerous times. It's only $15 over the airline, but the guarantee policy is worth it to us. Quote
L454S Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 I find the domestic flights are about the same as other sites. The cheap prices come on the overseas flights for Transatlantics etc. Example: New Orleans to London-about $300PP, Venice to New Orleans-about $400PP. These were within the last month, so current info. Quote
firegal2539 Posted March 17, 2017 Report Posted March 17, 2017 I have used Air2Sea twice and one was the same price as airline, the other was $98 cheaper. The other good thing is if you buy insurance through Royal and buy air from them it is covered under Royal insurance. Candie iamjohnbamber 1 Quote
iamjohnbamber Posted March 20, 2017 Author Report Posted March 20, 2017 Each time I've tried searching for flights it would come up with no responses... is Air2Sea not available at all airports? Quote
DocLC Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 It should be available as it taps into the same booking engine that all reservation systems use. Personally, I haven't found it to be any better than booking on my own and sometimes the actual flights that I want don't show up in the system. I tend to favor kayak.com and flights.google.com mainly because they have better options for filtering searches (e.g., number of layovers, take-off and landing times, etc.). Quote
JLMoran Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 If the cruise was booked with a TA (MEI in my case), and the TA also books the flight, will they use Air2Sea behind the scenes to get the insurance tie-in that was mentioned earlier? Or they'll just go with whatever gets the best rate? Asking because we did purchase the insurance for the cruise at booking, would like to only be paying one insurance charge rather than two. Quote

Did you buy cruise line insurance or independent insurance? I know MEI offers both options. I usually opt for independent insurance as it will cover more things like precruise stays and whatnot that the cruise line's insurance doesn't. Quote

My invoice just says "Vacation protection plan included". No idea if that's Royal's plan or MEI's independent one. Seems to be part of the overall cruise booking notes as I see the promotions listed and the $100 OBC applied to the cabin. Quote

It really depends on one's individual booking and needs. Quote
