I checked the Celebrity casino FAQ and found these 2 entries:

Can onboard credit be used in casinos?

Yes, as of July 1, 2015, onboard credit can be used in our casinos.

Is there a transaction fee in the casinos?

Yes, a 5% transaction fee will be applied on your SeaPass® card. We also have an ATM with a Bank Atlantic fee.

Does this mean if I use some of our OBC to buy in at the craps table I will pay a 5% fee on that amount to do so?

As of 2 weeks ago, I didn't.      Had about $200 OBC in my bank.  I went to the casino and asked to move money from my ship account casino account.  They gave me a ticket to play in the machines, which I promptly played a spin then cashed out at the window.   I didn't see any charge on my folio. Other than the amount I moved.

I just rechecked my final  folio, and did not find any service charge for adding $$ to casino account from ship account.

Isn't that standard boilerplate for anything used on cruise ship casinos? That shows for the Royal FAQs regarding the casino as well, I think it means you will be charge that if you use any method other than your seapass card.

The 5% fee is applied to members who use their seapass card at the table to get cash….IF the member is not  “rank” in the casino.  On Royal the lowest rank is prime, I’ve not looked at Celebrity ranks (if different) .  you can take the OBC out through the casino machine (the host gave you directions), additionally you can do a charge against your room (same method) but if no OBC it goes to your room and is on your credit card at final bill.  My son did this (No OBC, just a charge against the room) but was unable to do  a second room charge through the machine…which avoids the fee….I had read they were limiting that feature, he is not a prime casino player.

A couple weeks ago I was on the RCL Ovation of the Seas, and I pulled extra OBC into one of the slot machines.  Then I cashed it out and took the ticket to the cashier for cash.  I was told to use the slot machine and not the tables.  I was told the tables will charge a fee and the slot machines will not.

I’m on Celebrity and there’s no option to room charge and move $ to the slot machine    I am not ranked with Celebrity (I’m at their entry level).  Hubby tried as well, he is no level.  I’ll have him ask at the cashier to see if it can be done.  He forgot to take cash out for the trip 😡and he’s eating into mine 😡

Did  you go to the casino cash desk?    You ask to charge your room for a play ticket (min is $20).  You can't pull credit from the machine.
