surf4style
On a recent sailing I overheard a group of folks discussing the impact that COVID had on the number of Pinnacle members and it got me thinking …. Are the number of members for each group listed/published anywhere?
smokeybandit
That's pretty protected info. But I would have thought the number of pinnacles may have dropped during the shutdown. SpeedNoodles

Usually in the Top Tier event on each sailing, they divulge numbers based on each tier for that particular sailing

But I would have thought the number of pinnacles may have dropped during the shutdown. During the shutdown all levels lost some members. Since the restart Pinnacle is probably one group that's gone up more than others with the double promo. If folks were above ~350 they were more likely to be frequent cruisers to begin with, before the pandemic. Once above 350 Pinnacle is likely in the back of your mind since you are halfway there. Introduce a double points promo and for folks that were already doing several cruises each year, cranking that up a bit made Pinnacle much larger on their radar screen. Most C&A members are not doing several cruises every year. The double points promo disportionately helps the very frequent cruiser particularly those in Florida that can drive to several ports and avoid flight costs and hassles. Cheap fares and lots of casino comps at times has fueled this group even more. I still don't think the Diamond level changed very much because most folks below Diamond were not frequent cruisers before the shut down. The double promo just brought them back to where they would have been. For very frequent cruisers it's been crazy. Lots of new Pinnacles. smokeybandit
Double points and some fortunate accounting at home during 2021 is going to get us to D+ in July, about 5 years ahead of schedule

We hadn’t intended to cruise again until all the Covid protocols were gone, but the 4 points per night for suites made us take 4 cruises between October and now. I just wish I had booked our cruises for the rest of this year and next year before that promo ended!
